Chapter 626: Chapter 625: The Husband’s Authority Falters

Jiang Kechu said indifferently, "Don’t overthink it."

His reaction left Chuchu quite frustrated, like punching into a cushion.

All the way, Chuchu stared at Jiang Kechu’s profile, biting her lip and thinking: Jiang Kechu was doing this on purpose, treating her coldly to punish her for not listening to him and secretly running off to Country Y.

Her eyes darted around several times, but she didn’t say anything more, planning in her mind to deal with Jiang Kechu once she got home.

Jiang Kechu, although trying to appear calm and indifferent, was secretly contemplating whether this would work, hoping he wouldn’t end up shooting himself in the foot.

Soon they returned to Jinse Garden, and as soon as he got home, Jiang Kechu used work as an excuse to quickly head upstairs to the study.

Chuchu looked at the staircase and softly snorted, thinking: "Let’s see if you have the guts not to return to the bedroom tonight!"

Having been away from the twins for several days, Chuchu spent the evening playing with Legendary Hunter.

In the study, Jiang Kechu had documents and a notebook in front of him, but he couldn’t truly settle down to work. He listened to the laughter of Chuchu and the kids while wrestling with his thoughts: Is this really feasible? Could he seize the opportunity to gain the upper hand and teach Chuchu a lesson so she’d listen to him in the future?

However he considered it, Jiang Kechu felt this idea was unreliable; but to give up now would mean all previous efforts were for nothing!

Reflecting on Chuchu’s disregard for his opposition, rushing off to Country Y and putting herself in danger, if it really resulted in Chuchu softening and being less impulsive in the future, it would be a good thing.

Yet he felt Chuchu wasn’t someone who would easily yield to him. On the way home, she had him teetering on the edge with her alert eyes fixed on him.

God knows how worried he had been about Chuchu these past days, and how much he had missed her, longing to hold her tight and shower her with affection.

Inside Jiang Kechu’s mind, two little voices were fiercely debating — one urging, "You mustn’t compromise easily." While the other countered, "Forget it, you’re not punishing your wife but yourself."

Before he knew it, the sounds of laughter outside had faded. He checked the time — it was already 10:30 PM! Typically, the little ones went to bed at 9:30 PM.

Was Chuchu already in the bedroom? Upon realizing this possibility, Jiang Kechu stood up but immediately restrained his legs from moving, urging himself not to rush.

He needed to stay firm and let Chuchu know she was wrong and should yield to him, making a promise not to repeat this behavior.

Yet, after waiting for what felt like twenty long minutes, Chuchu frustratingly did not come to him to admit her mistake, nor did he hear her approaching the study.

No way!

He couldn’t wait any longer. If the mountain did not come to him, he would go to the mountain!

Jiang Kechu cleared his throat and left the study, hesitating at the doorway — one direction leading to the bedroom, the other to the guest room.

After some thought, he decided to head to the guest room first, to take a shower before dealing with anything else. Clean and fresh was the best way!

In the bedroom, Chuchu wore silk pajamas and applied skincare products while squinting, waiting for Jiang Kechu.

She lay in bed for a moment until she could no longer resist, and finally, Jiang Kechu came through the door.

As soon as Jiang Kechu entered, he nearly lost his composure. Chuchu lay sideways in black silky, seductive pajamas, her graceful figure displayed fully, with her long hair spread like seaweed on the bed, and her smooth and tender thighs rested on the purple sheets like jade.

She was simply a little monster!

An alluring little monster!

A mesmerizing little monster that made one’s blood race!

Jiang Kechu’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he forcefully moved his gaze away, stiffly walking to his spot, using all his might to pick up his pillow, and awkwardly turning to head out.

Chuchu smiled with her lips, glancing at Jiang Kechu’s clenched hand, amused.

"Having a hard time, huh?"

When Jiang Kechu finally reached the doorway, Chuchu suddenly teased.

He immediately turned back, asking, "What’s so hard?" Even though he tried his best not to look around, his eyes couldn’t help but glance over her.

Chuchu, very lazily, shifted positions and playfully tossed her hair, then drawled, "Aren’t you having a hard time holding yourself back?"

Jiang Kechu: "..." This brat really saw through him, knowing everything!

He closed his eyes briefly and bluntly confessed, "Yes! I’m angry, angry that you’re disobedient, angry at your headstrong decisions. Don’t you have anything to explain to me?"

"Pfft––"

Chuchu unexpectedly burst out laughing, shaking like a flower in the breeze, making it even harder for him to keep looking. He turned aside.

After laughing a few times, Chuchu sat up properly, pulled her pajamas around her, and seriously said,

"Jiang Kechu, I’m sorry."

Huh? Jiang Kechu was somewhat incredulous about the words he heard. Chuchu was really admitting fault? She just straightforwardly admitted she was wrong, without any arguments or tricks.

Since she admitted fault already, his objective was achieved, and the rest... could be dealt with later.

Jiang Kechu suddenly turned around, tossed the pillow aside, and pounced on Chuchu like a starving wolf, pressing her firmly into the bed.

"You stubborn little monster!" Jiang Kechu ground out through gritted teeth, almost wanting to gobble the person below him whole.

Chuchu looked into his fiery, crimson eyes, swallowed hard, and quickly raised her hand to block his descending face. Her palm suddenly felt scorching hot.

"Stop, Jiang Kechu, stop!"

Jiang Kechu discontentedly halted, giving her a reproachful look as if to say, "Remove your hand!"

Suddenly, Chuchu giggled, "Jiang Kechu, I was just joking earlier. You wanted me to lower my head to you, right? I was just playing along. See how hard it was for you to endure, and all it took was one sentence to break you."

Jiang Kechu was stunned, looking down at the smug Chuchu.

Taking advantage, Chuchu pushed Jiang Kechu aside and stood up, looking down at him condescendingly.

"Hmph! You dared to play these games with me, not coming to the airport, giving me the cold shoulder, leaving me hanging, resorting to silent treatment." Chuchu first enumerated his offenses, then raised her chin, asking, "Tell me, who gave you this lousy idea?!"

Jiang Kechu lay on the soft bed, staring lovingly at Chuchu.

So smart, so witty, so proud, so gleeful, so adorable... such a charming woman, yet she was Jiang Kechu’s wife!
