Chapter 1057: Chapter 1057: Not Here

Hayley Cole returned to her own home, and by this time, it was already past lunchtime. She hadn’t even had lunch yet. As soon as she entered, she instructed the maid to make her something to eat; she was starving.

"Hayley, why haven’t you eaten lunch by now?" Charlotte Reed came down from upstairs, holding Hayley Cole’s hand with concern, "Not eating on time is bad for your health."

"Mom, I was delayed by something." Seeing Charlotte Reed’s concern, Hayley Cole’s mood immediately improved.

Compared to Charlotte, Frederick Cole was simply a devil!

"You can’t do this in the future. If your health is compromised, I’ll be worried, and James will be too." Charlotte Reed gently pushed Hayley Cole, "Hurry up and go upstairs to change clothes, then come down to eat... never mind, you’re probably tired from being busy. I’ll have the maid bring the meal to your room."

"Thanks, Mom." Not to mention, Hayley Cole really was exhausted. All she wanted now was to have a good sleep after eating.

As for Sophie Wilson, after having a hearty meal, she went to "surprise" Charles Seymour at his company in the afternoon.

She felt a bit embarrassed to go over at lunchtime, worrying that someone might find out she didn’t eat on time and would probably get "upset." It was better not to provoke someone.

"Huh? Not here?" Sophie Wilson looked quizzically at Charles Seymour’s secretary, "Did he go out for something this afternoon?"

"Yes," the secretary said apologetically.

"Okay, got it." Sophie Wilson thanked with a smile, then entered the lounge inside Charles Seymour’s office, pulled out a blanket, changed clothes, and had a cozy nap.

Anyway, since she was waiting, she might as well take a nap first.

Around four o’clock in the afternoon, Charles Seymour returned to the company. As soon as the secretary saw him, she immediately approached and said, "Boss, the mistress is here."

"Sophie?" Charles Seymour was slightly surprised and asked, "When?"

"Almost two o’clock," the secretary said, "since you weren’t here, she rested in your office."

"Okay." Charles Seymour nodded slightly and entered the office. It was empty, and his gaze fell on the closed door of the lounge; she must be in there.

He gently pushed the door open. The curtains were drawn in the lounge, making it somewhat dim, but Charles Seymour immediately spotted Sophie Wilson wrapped in a blanket, sleeping blissfully.

The corners of his lips involuntarily curved up, a small arc tracing the uplift in the owner’s mood.

Charles Seymour tiptoed to the bedside, slowly squatted down, and looked at Sophie Wilson’s peaceful sleeping face. Her cheeks were flushed like a ripe peach, making his index finger twitch, wanting to give it a poke.

Her lashes trembled like little fans, and Sophie Wilson gradually opened her eyes, sleepily looking at the person in front of her, then smiled.

"You’re back." Her voice, lazy from just waking up, brushed over Charles Seymour’s heart like a little brush, tickling him.

"Thirsty," Sophie Wilson pouted as she hugged the blanket, speaking with a slight nasal tone.

Charles Seymour chuckled, turned, picked up the cup beside her, and went to get her some water.

When Charles Seymour returned, Sophie Wilson was childishly stretching and yawning, just as cute as a little kitten basking and sleeping contentedly in the sun, making Charles Seymour smile.

Charles Seymour handed the cup of water to Sophie Wilson, intending to sit by the bed. Unexpectedly, as soon as he moved, Sophie Wilson pushed him away.
