Chapter 850: Chapter 830: Exercise Well, Say No to the Three Highs
Holding hands on their way home, Luo Yanran pointed towards the bathroom and then at the door: "Third Brother, have you learned the art of Shifting Shadows? Teach me quickly."
Luo Yanwu was already very tolerant of this frequently silly younger brother, treating him like a kindred spirit to Baozi, just another silly bun, but at least, safer than those creatures that dismantle the house.
"First of all, eat less meat." Luo Yanwu said seriously.
"Then forget it." Luo Yanran immediately gave up: "I’ve decided, in order to eat meat properly in the future, I will exercise well and reject high blood pressure, high sugar, and high cholesterol!" Otherwise, he’d end up like Grandpa, unable to eat meat!
But of course, the latter part wasn’t said aloud, as Old Master Luo was already glaring at him.
Thinking about how Old Master Luo had been in the army all his life, how could he not exercise? Yet his levels were still high when it wanted to be, what could he do about it?
Sighing as he picked up some fruit intending to eat, only for Yue Tingyu to glance over: "One hour after meals."
He put down the fruit softly and looked at Luo Qianqian, who touched her nose and pretended not to see.
However, Qin Nuan looked at her calmly, raised an eyebrow, as if fully aware of why Luo Qianqian had gone out earlier.
Luo Qianqian shifted her eyes guiltily, resolutely avoiding eye contact with anyone.
After dinner, Qin Nuan and Cong Rong didn’t leave; they stayed overnight in Luo Qianqian’s room. The three of them being from the same dorm meant there was no pressure to sleep together.
"I’ll take a shower first." Sensing that Qin Nuan and Luo Qianqian had something to talk about, Cong Rong calmly took her pajamas and went into the bathroom.
Luo Qianqian pouted, looked at Qin Nuan: "What’s up?"
"What happened yesterday." Qin Nuan went straight to the point without any hesitation. It wouldn’t matter much if Cong Rong overheard, but since Cong Rong had already avoided it, she didn’t need to deliberately speak loudly for Cong Rong to hear.
Listening to the sound of water flowing from the bathroom, Luo Qianqian shrugged: "I incapacitated Gongyang Che."
"Incapacitated?" Qin Nuan was stunned for a moment, then frowned: "Which meaning of incapacitated do you mean?"
"The kind that leaves him unable to reproduce." Luo Qianqian said with a calm face, it’s not a big deal, right?
But seeing Qin Nuan’s eyes wide open, it clearly wasn’t a trivial matter in her view.
"Did you really... incapacitate him?" Qin Nuan demonstrated the gesture of a ’legacy-ending kick’ to Luo Qianqian while speaking.
Luo Qianqian nodded: "And it’s irreparable, but it doesn’t matter much, after all, they provoked first. I call that self-defense."
Though it should be said that it was more out of extreme anger.
"They called the police..." Qin Nuan frowned tightly, unintentionally tightened her grip on Luo Qianqian’s arm.
Luo Qianqian winced in pain with a sharp intake of breath, does she have to be this violent?
Qin Nuan quickly let go, staring blankly at the red marks on Luo Qianqian’s wrist: "Ah, what did I do? Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean it..." She said while gently massaging Luo Qianqian’s wrist, unable to hide the worry on her face: "But, if they were to..."
"They probably won’t for now." Luo Qianqian waved her hand, touched her own wrist, and sighed: "Right now, there’s something else waiting to be dealt with, and um, they can openly and legitimately retaliate against me."
Qin Nuan was dumbfounded: "Openly? Retaliate? Are you serious?" Open retaliation still counts as retaliation? Retaliation can be open and aboveboard?
Luo Qianqian nodded lightly, then changed the subject: "I just saw Xu Tianyi."
"Oh." Qin Nuan was still thinking about the retaliation issue when her expression suddenly became quite peculiar: "Who did you say? Xu Tianyi?" She gaped.
They were all aware that Xu Tianyi had returned, but it was the first time they had seen him so blatantly.
For Luo Qianqian, however, it was the second time, only because the first time she didn’t run into anyone else.
And this time, he didn’t hide and was directly seen by Luo Yanwu.
"Feeling a bit sad, not sure why." Luo Qianqian looked at Qin Nuan with a bitter smile.
In truth, the only one she could speak her mind to was Qin Nuan. The rest either didn’t know enough, or had missed too much.
"I understand." Qin Nuan said softly, pulling Luo Qianqian into a hug, gently patting her back: "Actually, he should be worried about you too."
Luo Qianqian gave a bitter smile. Ultimately, Xu Tianyi had not gone to play against Jimo Cheng, which meant he respected her decision. The silent guardianship made her feel even more uneasy.
She had clearly said, urged him... If it weren’t for her, he might have been happy and carefree, right?
Qin Nuan didn’t ask whether she liked him or not, because it was obvious Luo Qianqian wouldn’t be able to answer, so she just quietly stayed with her.
When Cong Rong came out, Luo Qianqian was already asleep in Qin Nuan’s arms.
"Is she all right?" Cong Rong asked softly, with genuine concern on her face.
Qin Nuan gently shook her head: "A nap should help."
Despite having many questions, it was clear from Luo Qianqian’s state that they couldn’t be answered now.
When Cong Rong came out, Luo Qianqian was already awake but maintained steady breathing pretending to sleep.
"Isn’t she cold, should we let her soak in a hot bath?" Cong Rong observed Luo Qianqian with concern in her brows, as if worried, and perhaps slightly berating too.
Qin Nuan gently shook her head: "She has the scent of body wash on her, she must have already bathed."
Luo Qianqian’s heartbeat immediately went erratic, did she deduce that from the scent of body wash? Qin Nuan, are you supernaturally perceptive?
"That’s good then." Cong Rong also sighed in relief, looking at Luo Qianqian, pursed her lips: "Why does it feel like a lot has happened? She seems somewhat... world-weary?"
Qin Nuan was taken aback, then nodded: "Indeed."
"Shall we get her to run in the morning? Exercise helps alleviate a depressed mood." Cong Rong had no intention of prying and simply smiled at Qin Nuan: "I still like the cheerful her."
"Today’s smiles were quite forced, weren’t they?" Qin Nuan too smiled bitterly, shaking her head helplessly.
Both of them helped Luo Qianqian undress and tucked her into bed, then dimmed the lights. Cong Rong sat at the writing desk to read a carry-on book, while Qin Nuan went to wash up.
Luo Qianqian lay in bed, neither turning over nor opening her eyes, lying straight while pondering the day’s events. It increasingly felt like things were becoming beyond her capacity to handle.
Thinking of Jimo Cheng stirred a sadness within her.
Usually, she saw Jimo Cheng as sunny and artistic; when had she ever seen him so fragile, so sad, so lost?
Like a fragile jade ware about to shatter, making one immensely anxious.
