Chapter 827: Chapter 807: Golden Patterns

"That’s called a cover, thank you." Qhianqhian looked speechless.

Rashal awkwardly flipped open the book and continued reading.

Qhianqhian picked up her phone to text Qin Nuan, only to find there was no signal: "Huh? Where’s the signal?" She looked at the bartender, "Do you have a signal jammer here?"

The bartender was taken aback, then looked at what Qhianqhian was holding and suddenly nodded in realization.

"Alright." Qhianqhian put her phone back in her bag and saw Rashal had finished reading and was looking at her intently.

"Why are you looking at me? This is something you have to understand on your own; just close your eyes and feel it, all sorts of feelings, just messing around with your senses." Qhianqhian sat calmly in her chair. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"But... the problem is, the only thing we can perceive is one color..." Rashal didn’t even close his eyes and just stared blankly at Qhianqhian.

"What color? Didn’t the book say?" Qhianqhian looked baffled at the person sitting on the floor.

"Black-purple." Rashal replied.

Qhianqhian was at a loss, then smacked her forehead: "Oh right, how could I forget..."

"You guys are darkness attributes!" Qhianqhian said seriously, "You’ve all been classified as dark creatures... Hey, do you guys really turn into bats?"

Rashal looked speechless: "Yes."

"Aren’t you like animals that cultivate and become spirits?" Qhianqhian said with an affirming look, "If not, why don’t you go to the deep mountains to properly absorb the essences of heaven and earth, spiritual energy from the sun and moon, instead of hanging out in a big city?"

Rashal’s eyes were full of helplessness: "Staying isolated from the world is indeed safe, but there’s no way to survive." He sighed, "If I fall into deep sleep again, I don’t know if I’ll ever wake up."

"Hey... I suddenly thought of something." Qhianqhian looked seriously at Rashal, "I’m afraid you won’t live very long."

Rashal looked puzzled.

"Human lifespans are only about a hundred years." Qhianqhian said seriously, looking around at everyone, "Although you don’t have wrinkles, it shouldn’t be like this, right?"

"Better to take a gamble than wait for death." Rashal smiled at Qhianqhian, "You’re the only human who has seen us without freaking out and calling for our heads."

... Qhianqhian looked speechless, but could she even take them on?

No way... she couldn’t defeat these people, right? She knew when to bow to the circumstances.

"But I want to run away!" Qhianqhian said honestly.

"Such an honest child." Rashal smiled, "I won’t deny that some of us might be suspicious of you, but I trust you."

"Then can you turn into a little bat?" Qhianqhian asked, full of curiosity.

The next moment, a flash of black, and a little bat popped out of Rashal’s clothes, delicate and cute, with dark golden patterns on its body.

The bartender looked shocked, eyes flashing, but returned to normal the next moment.

"Wow, wow, wow, stay like this before I leave!!!" Qhianqhian said, glancing at the clothes that had fallen to the ground, her mouth twitching.

Yet somehow, the surrounding temperature dropped a few degrees.

"Why?" The next moment, the little bat flashed, and Rashal appeared in front of Qhianqhian again, only this time in a black robe. He picked up the clothes on the ground: "The most annoying thing is this; I can never change clothes happily."

Huh??? There were clothes?

No doubt he’s a vampire.

Qhianqhian swallowed, changing the topic: "But my book has the water attribute. Can you use it?" she asked, tilting her head towards the book on the chair.

One had to admit, the close-fitting black shirt, trousers, and cape were quite charming, and Rashal’s little fangs...

Wait, aren’t those vampire fangs?

Qhianqhian reached out to touch Rashal’s teeth, seeing Rashal’s face turn red left her speechless.

"Let’s try it." Rashal looked at the book, also a face of dilemna, since it wasn’t something they could choose.

Qhianqhian nodded: "Then I’m leaving, should I leave a phone number?" She glanced at her wristwatch and pouted, "I’ve been out too long, my friends will be worried."

Rashal nodded: "I’ll see you out." He said, holding the book and following Qhianqhian out the door.

As soon as they stepped out, Rashal leaned against the wall, gasping for breath.

Qhianqhian was alarmed, watching Rashal nervously: "What’s wrong with you?"

"Do you have a safe place?" Rashal asked.

Qhianqhian nodded.

"Good." Rashal hoisted Qhianqhian up by the waist, and in a flash, Qhianqhian only felt weightlessness, her face filled with despair. Why is it always this way? She was now completely unafraid of roller coasters, as they couldn’t compare to this. No seat belt, only life-threatening falls!

After who knows how far they’d traveled, Rashal finally set Qhianqhian down: "Call a cab, let’s go."

Qhianqhian looked at him, bewildered, but helped him hail a cab, and after a moment’s thought, decided to go to Lu Simiao’s place.

Lu Simiao was not home, still in the ICU.

"What happened?" She poured Rashal a glass of water, looking worried.

Rashal looked at Qhianqhian: "I used my life’s divination and sacrificed my essence blood. Just now I reverted to my true form and exposed my identity; I’m afraid Rashal’s family won’t tolerate me."

"What? You’re not a vampire?" Qhianqhian looked confused, not understanding what Rashal was saying.

"Of course not." He shook his head helplessly, "But you’re safe, regardless of the circumstances." Life, as a cultivator, was protected. Trouble wouldn’t involve just Qhianqhian; even that young man before would likely report it."

"Hmm, you can stay here for now. Need me to get anything?" Qhianqhian looked around, "My younger brother is currently in the hospital, so no one usually comes here."

Rashal nodded: "Get two chickens, and don’t roast them."

Qhianqhian rolled her eyes. Does she look like a fool?

"There probably aren’t any now; you’ll have to wait till morning. Can you hold on?" Qhianqhian considered the nearby malls, but apologetically shook her head.

Rashal nodded.

"I’ll come back in the morning. Make yourself at home, but don’t go in the study. If there’s anything, call me." She pointed to the landline by the door, writing a series of numbers on a sticky note, and stuck it to the wall.

Seeing Rashal nod, she closed the door speechlessly.

Leaning against the door for a moment, she sighed and headed downstairs.

But she saw a familiar figure by the roadside, her face went pale, and she opened her mouth without making a sound.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" the figure asked.

Qhianqhian looked at the figure, her eyes shimmering, but she stubbornly turned her head: "None of your business, if you’re going to hide, don’t come out!" Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.

She said that, turned around, and fled.

The figure listened to the footsteps gradually receding, then sighed and slowly turned their head, watching the figure shrink into the distance, but didn’t chase. Instead, they looked up at the window above, "As expected, was I discovered already?" They smiled mockingly and turned to leave.
