Chapter 278: Chapter 152: The Honey Badger’s Fearless Charge, the Team Fights Head-on and Skyrockets

[DING!]

[Round 1, Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms team, home ground battle! Please select your home ground!]

In front of Shen Fei, who had just been designated the temporary team captain, a menu for selecting the home ground appeared.

"Select the Plains map!"

Knowing there was a high probability he would be banned, Shen Fei quickly chose the most advantageous map for Tower Masters—the Plains. It offered a wide, open line of sight, allowing several thousand Tower Masters to attack freely without having to worry about enemies hiding in some nook or cranny to launch a sneak attack on them.

[DING!]

[Opponent—Return of the Undead team. Use a Forbidden Scroll to prevent one member of the opposing team from participating in the battle? (Yes/No)]

[The roster for the Return of the Undead team and their individual match points are as follows...]

[Please make a selection within ten seconds. If no selection is made, it will be considered a non-ban...]

The moment he finished selecting the map, another set of options appeared.

TAP!

After casually tapping the first name on the list to ban them, more text appeared before him.

[DING!]

[Skyrocketing has been banned by the opponent and cannot participate in this round!]

[DING!]

[The first round of the team competition will begin in ten seconds. Please prepare!]

Just as Shen Fei expected, he was banned immediately. He gave a speechless smile to Huang Yi and the others. Shen Fei took a step back, and ten seconds later, he watched as they transformed into streaks of light and entered the drastically changed arena ahead.

Within this special Secret Realm, the moment the match began, everyone except those who were banned entered a sand-table-like arena.

WHOOSH.

He tried clicking on the sand-table area and saw that he could zoom in to watch the matches taking place in each zone on the "sand table arena."

"Holy crap!"

Instead of rushing to open a zone and watch, Shen Fei noticed something. As the vast majority of people entered the sand table to begin the team competition, the several thousand who had been banned all materialized around him. He was stunned to see a large number of familiar faces. His father, his mother, Wang Dapang, Zhao Li, and even Xiaohong and Shen Yue hadn’t gone in. They had all been banned.

Shen Fei was rendered speechless. Clearly, aside from Zhao Li, everyone else’s ban was related to him. Except for his parents, the others had all been standing with him during the individual matches. During the rapid banning phase, they were all selected because of their connection to him.

They say when one person achieves enlightenment, even their chickens and dogs ascend to heaven. For me, it was: when one person gets banned, their whole family gets banned...

WHOOSH.

Shrugging at his family and friends in the distance, Shen Fei opened the sand table, planning to watch the battles inside. He knew that this first round would reveal some of the truly powerful individuals, making the next round of bans less bizarre. Originally, the individual matches were supposed to make everyone’s Combat Power common knowledge, allowing for more targeted bans in the team competition. However, no one had any room to display their skills before Shen Fei cleared them all out in a few moves. Consequently, this first round of bans was mostly random.

Like Shen Fei, the other banned players quickly accessed the sand table to scout for individuals who truly deserved to be banned.

WHOOSH.

Connecting to the arena’s sand table, Shen Fei instantly gained a God’s-eye view. Countless small bubbles representing different zones appeared before his eyes, waiting for him to enter.

POP.

With a soft sound, he entered one. He didn’t enter the Plains map where his team, Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms, was located. He felt that with Huang Yi leading them, they would be fine as long as they weren’t up against an Immortal Emperor. The tens of thousands of Defense Towers deployed by several thousand people would be enough. Even if there weren’t many Tenth Tier Defense Towers, the weighted average power of their combined towers would be comparable to that of several dozen Tenth Tier Defense Towers. He wasn’t worried about their victory.

WHOOSH.

Skipping over his own team, Shen Fei clicked into the zone where Number 0 was located. He wanted to see how Number 0, a one-person team, was going to fight.

[DING!]

[Player Skyrocketing has entered the spectator area!]

The moment he entered a map filled with mountain peaks, everyone knew Shen Fei had arrived.

"Welcome, big shot!"

"Welcome, big shot!"

"Welcome, big shot!"

Number 0 forming a one-person army was highly unusual, so quite a few people were just as curious as Shen Fei. After he entered, the other spectators typed out welcome messages in the dedicated spectator chat channel.

She wasn’t banned? Shen Fei wondered, his curiosity piqued as he watched Number 0 below. With a wave of her hand, she released an endless stream of small, colorful cubes.

The moment the thought crossed his mind, someone answered his unasked question.

"Reporting, big shot! I know!" one person typed excitedly. "I’m one of the banned members from the opposing Magic Legion team! I came in here right away! The ban mechanic doesn’t work on Ethereum Punk because she’s the only one on her team. We thought we could just ban her for an instant win, but the ban failed..."

"Well then..." Shen Fei mused. He hadn’t expected that Number 0 being a one-person team came with such a benefit. So, no one can ban her! But that makes sense. If I’m the last person left and you still ban me, how the hell am I supposed to play?

Having learned the reason, Shen Fei watched Number 0’s match with a sharp gaze. She was fighting on an away ground, positioned at the foot of a mountain. Opposite her, defending from the peaks, was a team of several hundred players who had inherited various Magic abilities. Under Shen Fei’s watchful eyes, the area in front of Number 0 became densely packed with all sorts of colorful little cubes.
