Chapter 713: Letter From the Legatee I

CH713 Letter From the Legatee I

**[A.N: Mass Release Chapter: 1/10]**

"Yes," Eleanore confirmed. "Before implementation, we first need to ensure that the product itself is stable and fully understood."

She continued seriously,

"Although the first successful cases suggest that patients gain cultivation talent after being cured—which is precisely why we are even having this discussion—we still have not confirmed the full extent of the phenomenon.

"Will all patients gain cultivation talent after recovering from Berserk Transformation, regardless of whether they were originally commoners or already Professionals?

"If the patient was already a Professional beforehand, does their cultivation talent improve after treatment, or does it simply remain unchanged?

"Berserk Humans typically need to consume vast amounts of flesh and energy corrupted by the Berserk Property in order to mutate further and advance in rank. How does this factor apply to cured patients? Can they continue progressing naturally like ordinary Professionals?

"Or are they permanently locked at their current rank unless exposed to some form of external catalyst? And if so... what exactly would that catalyst be? Another mutation?"

"If Berserk Transformation truly functions the way we suspect, then what exactly is causing it? Not merely deductions pieced together from fragmented information, but actual confirmed facts.

"And once we fully understand the cause... can we replicate the effect without forcing someone through the Berserk Transformation process itself?"

Eleanore fired off a rapid succession of questions, each one significant enough to potentially serve as the foundation for an entire research project on its own.

However, perhaps the most important question of all was the last one.

"You want to create a method capable of granting cultivation talent to ordinary commoners?" Alex’s eyes widened slightly.

"Yes, if it proves possible," Eleanore nodded. "The Heavenly Venerable succeeded once before, which means I would not be starting entirely from scratch. Even if I fail to grant cultivation talent directly, perhaps I could still discover a way to significantly enhance existing talent instead.

"Whether it grants or improves talent, either outcome would greatly strengthen the foundation of our future territories."

Alex studied Eleanore carefully, noticing the growing curve tugging at her lips and the unmistakable sparkle shining within her eyes.

"You’re genuinely excited about this, aren’t you?" Alex suddenly asked with a smile.

Caught slightly off guard by the question, Eleanore paused briefly before examining her own feelings. Then she nodded honestly.

"Yes... I am."

A beautiful smile bloomed across her face, bright and lively like a flower opening beneath the morning sun.

"Very well. Go for it," Alex said with a smile of his own. "Just remember—safety first. Don’t take unnecessary risks. Basically... avoid doing all the things you would normally warn me against doing."

A soft chuckle escaped Eleanore as she nodded in agreement.

Truthfully, Alex did not particularly care whether the research ultimately succeeded or failed.

Or rather, it would be more accurate to say that he deliberately refused to place too much expectation upon it.

That way, if the research failed, Eleanore would not feel burdened by excessive pressure. And if it succeeded... then they would simply implement the results accordingly.

Either way, what mattered most to him was that Eleanore had found something that genuinely excited her—something meaningful enough to occupy her thoughts and time.

That alone lifted one more invisible weight from his shoulders, easing the pressure pushing him towards obtaining the missing coordinates to Pangea as quickly as possible.

With his wives gradually becoming occupied by their own pursuits and ambitions, their attention would remain engaged, and he would not need to worry as much about them growing homesick or emotionally burdened by their separation from home.

In turn, that also eased a burden on his own heart.

As planned, while Eleanore continued monitoring the two cured patients and preparing additional experiments to gather more research data, Zora and Udara met with Raven Horn to discuss the broader implementation strategy for the project.

After the meeting concluded, Raven Horn returned to the Black Scar Syndicate’s villa within the core district of BloodIron City, where he once again utilised the Syndicate’s secret communication method to contact the Alston Family’s Elder Council.

Without delay, Raven Horn delivered a detailed report regarding Fortuna’s recent activities.

Most of the Council had reportedly been stunned into silence upon learning that the Legatee’s group had discovered a cure for Berserk Transformation.

More shocking still, was the revelation that the cured individuals appeared to possess cultivation talent afterwards.

There were potentially millions of Berserk Humans scattered throughout the world—and every single one of them had effectively been abandoned, left to transform, mutate, and rot away by the very deities and clergy who demanded faith in exchange for supposedly protecting humanity from such a fate.

If they—or rather, the Legatee himself—could truly cure this ever-growing population... then they might one day possess an army sizeable enough to stand against the deities when the inevitable time of conflict arrived.

Raven Horn then produced a parchment before calmly reading aloud Alex’s message to the Council.

"O’ Elders of remaining light of Verdantis. Leaders of the honourable Alston Family, who continue to uphold the forgotten mission of an age long since passed...

"I offer you my salutations, my gratitude, and my respect for your Family’s sacrifices, and your enduring service to the plane, where so many others have long since forgotten their duty."

"I am Alex Fury, leader of Fortuna. But more importantly, I am the inheritor of the One Heaven Sorcerer’s Will.

"This is a message of solidarity, for we share a common goal— the downfall of the Pantheon that continues to drain the life from this plane. A common goal to defend this world from the plagues and hidden threats that encircle it from the shadows.

"A common goal that, I hope, can unite us—not as scattered individuals struggling alone, but as one united force."

"This is also a message of appreciation, for my heart holds nothing but gratitude for the assistance your Family has provided to my endeavours through your chosen liaison, Raven Horn.

"Please understand that your support is both recognised and appreciated, and it shall not be forgotten."

"With these in mind, I wish to inform you of a major discovery made by my faction, and to extend to you an opportunity born from both my gratitude towards your Family and the solidarity we share.

"There are moments throughout this plane’s history that define the rise of new powers and the fall of others—the arrival of external existential threats, the birth of parasites who dare call themselves deities, the creation of beings meant to embody hope only to become traitors, the ambitions of parasites steeped in greed and treachery, and the emergence of unstoppable plagues that transform men into monsters...

"Each of these events has shaped this world into what it is today, slowly pushing it towards the brink of destruction.

"As the inheritor of the One Heaven Sorcerer’s Will, it is my mandate to reverse these tragedies and usher in a new era—one built not upon false narratives and betrayals, but upon the rise of honourable men worthy of trust, reputation, and accountability, following the future downfall of the false deities."

Raven Horn briefly paused before continuing to read aloud.

"In pursuit of this goal, I announce to this honourable and reputable Council that my faction has discovered a cure for Berserk Transformation—the once unstoppable plague that has forced us to treat our fellow men as monsters to be hunted and slain.
