Chapter 1297: Chapter 1296: The Three of Us Missed You
"Uncle!"
Ryan Taylor had just stepped off the car when little Ann shouted "Uncle" and ran towards him. He immediately bent down and opened his arms to welcome the little one running towards him.
"Sweetie!"
Ryan picked up the running little Ann, gave her a smooch on the cheek, and then carried her over to Easton Holmes and Lily Turner.
Seeing her big brother carrying her son over, Lily Turner quickly greeted him, "Bro! You’re back."
After the greeting, she tilted her head to look at her husband, waiting to see how he would speak to her brother.
Easton Holmes felt his wife’s gaze and glanced at her, then turned his attention to his good friend holding his son, "You came back so soon; I thought you’d need a little more time to return."
Earlier on the phone, he sensed his good friend’s dilemma; if he wasn’t mistaken, his buddy was on a date with his girlfriend.
"Didn’t you say you had an urgent matter to discuss with me? Of course, I had to come back quickly." Ryan Taylor wasn’t bluffing; after receiving Easton’s call, he immediately bid farewell to his girlfriend, Lilith Spencer.
His girlfriend was very understanding and didn’t mind his early departure; instead, she encouraged him to go and handle his affairs with peace of mind.
What Easton said next nearly made Ryan curse out loud, "Actually, there’s nothing urgent to discuss. That was Lily asking me to tell you; she said it’s been a while since she last saw you and wondered what you’ve been busy with. She wants..."
"You two..." Before Easton could finish, Ryan couldn’t listen anymore; he interrupted his friend. After saying "you two," he was so upset he didn’t know what to say.
Seeing her brother upset, Lily Turner immediately put on her brightest smile, "Bro! I’m sorry! We shouldn’t have tricked you, but the two of us, no! The three of us miss you."
"Bro! For the sake of all three of us missing you, please don’t be angry with us, okay?" She instinctively reached out to grab her brother’s arm, but as soon as she lifted her hand, a big hand held it. She didn’t need to look to know who it was; nobody else but her husband would do that.
"Your brother isn’t that petty. How could he possibly get upset over something so small?" Easton Holmes seemed to be speaking to Lily Turner, but in reality, he was addressing Ryan, and his constant gaze on Ryan made it clear whom the words were meant for.
Ryan wasn’t blind nor foolish; he looked at Lily’s apologetic face and then at Easton. With a helpless sigh, he said, "So, tell me! What are you two planning with such a scene today?"
They missed him? Somehow, he wasn’t quite convinced.
"Haha! Bro! It’s great you’re not angry, phew!" Seeing her brother no longer wearing a stern expression, Lily Turner let out a sigh of relief; she was genuinely worried he’d be upset.
Seeing her like this, any remaining grudge Ryan held disappeared instantly. He gave her a pampering smile, "When have I ever been angry with you?"
When he was upset, it was only to frighten her a bit; he couldn’t truly be mad at her, and couldn’t bear to be truly angry with her. She was just too adorable and kind-hearted.
