Chapter 1270: Chapter 1269: I Just Wanted to Find a Quiet Place to Talk with You
Theodore Holmes harbored deep resentment toward his brother Easton Holmes and their mother Amelia Linton, but ever since he learned that Easton’s wife was his beloved girl, his mindset unexpectedly shifted, becoming less agitated than before.
He originally intended to take revenge on his so-called brother, but now he was beginning to waver and didn’t know what he should do.
Revenge on his so-called brother and mother might give him closure for his birth mother, but doing so would upset his girl, and she might even come to hate him.
As Theodore Holmes hesitated whether to exact revenge on Easton Holmes, someone suddenly appeared in front of him, Easton Holmes’ mother-in-law, Sophia Wood, his Aunt Jasmine.
Since the day Lily Turner gave birth to twin daughters and met Theodore Holmes, Sophia Wood had wanted to have a good talk with him, but she was busy taking care of Lily Turner and the three babies together with Amelia Linton, so she hadn’t found the time.
Now that the twin granddaughters had passed the hundred-day mark and little Anna, two years and five months old, was sent to early daycare, the family was noticeably more relaxed.
Sophia Wood felt it was time to talk to Theodore Holmes, and before any more unpleasantness occurred between the brothers, she would feel sad.
She proactively arranged to meet him at a teahouse, and after they sat down in a private room, the waiter began to brew tea for them. She asked the waiter to leave once the tea was ready.
Sophia Wood poured a cup of tea for Theodore Holmes and said softly, "The tea here is very fragrant, have a taste."
She knew that young people in their twenties generally didn’t like tea, yet she specifically chose to have this conversation at a teahouse.
She wanted him to settle down in such a tranquil environment, so he wouldn’t be so restless, and could talk with her calmly and peacefully.
"Hmm! It’s really fragrant."
Theodore Holmes took the cup of tea Sophia Wood handed to him, brought it close to his nose to sniff, and though he never drank tea, he could smell its aroma.
Sophia Wood raised her own cup to her lips, "Take a sip; you’ll find it even more fragrant."
After speaking, she took a sip first.
It was Theodore Holmes’ first time drinking tea in such an elegant environment as this, and if Sophia Wood hadn’t invited him here today, he probably would never have stepped into a teahouse, nor drank tea, as he simply didn’t like tea.
He took a small sip—huh? The tea wasn’t as bad as he imagined; his mouth was filled with its fragrant essence.
"It is indeed very fragrant."
He originally thought the tea would be terribly bitter, but he was pleasantly surprised when he tasted it.
Theodore Holmes drained the cup of tea in one gulp, then poured himself another small cup, but this time he didn’t rush to drink it. He placed the tea cup filled with tea on the table instead.
"Aunt Jasmine! You didn’t just invite me here for tea today, did you?" Waiting until Sophia Wood finished her cup, Theodore Holmes finally spoke.
Sophia Wood was pondering how to broach the topic when, unexpectedly, Theodore Holmes spoke first, breaking her indecision.
"I just wanted to find a quieter place to have a chat with you." Since he asked so directly, she didn’t need to hesitate anymore.
"Chat about what? Our conversation must have something to do with Easton Holmes, right?" Theodore Holmes called Easton Holmes by name, clearly without any intent to refer to him as his brother.
