Chapter 313: Master!

Wangchen murmured, leaning forward to press his forehead firmly against her shoulder. "If he attempts to breach our solitude, I will simply encase the main manor in a stasis barrier. He will sleep comfortably until dawn, and we will remain... entirely undisturbed."

It was a sociopathic, competent, and terrifying declaration of romance.

He was casually offering to magically imprison her master in his own house purely to ensure they had the free time to share a mattress.

Ji’an’s willpower teetered on the precipice of collapse.

The physical attraction she felt for him, the sight of his silver hair, the scorching heat of his exposed chest, the absolute, unyielding devotion in his ruby eyes, was pulling her down into a warm, hypnotic gravity where surrendering to his embrace felt like the most logical, beautiful thing in the universe.

Her hands stopped pushing against his shoulders.

Her fingers unconsciously curled, lightly gripping the pristine white silk of his robes.

Her breath hitched.

She looked down at his slightly parted, spice-reddened lips, her logic entirely fading into a soft, yearning silence.

’Maybe...’ Ji’an’s deeply compromised mind whispered. ’Maybe just for tonight... we could just...’

She leaned her head down a fraction of an inch.

And then, the ambient temperature in the courtyard dropped.

The ancient weeping willow tree near the edge of the prep pavilion didn’t just rustle.

A calloused arm violently swiped aside the heavy branches.

Stepping out of the deep shadows of the grove was Master Jiu Zui.

The Sovereign of the Drunken Peak had not gone to sleep.

He was still wearing his formal, multi-layered purple court robes from the executive summit, the silver topknot crown gleaming in the moonlight.

He was holding an unsealed clay jar of cheap spirit-ale in his left hand.

And his sharp, handsome, DILF-tier face was twisted into an expression of parental rage.

Ji’an froze in Wangchen’s arms, her eyes widening to saucer-like proportions. ’MASTER!’

Xie Wangchen, possessing the fastest reaction speed, instantly sensed the arrival of the hostile peak lord.

His ruby eyes flared.

The absolute zero domain of the Flawless Ice Root violently erupted from his core, preparing to manifest a dome of solid, impenetrable black ice around himself and Ji’an to execute his previously stated stasis-imprisonment threat.

He never got the chance to cast a single spell.

Master Jiu Zui was a Second Generation immortal monster.

He had achieved Sovereign status when Wangchen’s great-grandfather was still wearing pants.

He ignored the theoretical laws of elemental Qi-defenses.

The old man didn’t draw a sword.

He didn’t unleash a grand martial technique.

He took one massive, blurring stride forward, bypassing Wangchen’s expanding zero domain through the sheer, brute-force manipulation of the local spatial leylines.

Before Wangchen could even complete his hand-seal, Jiu Zui’s calloused right hand shot out like a striking dragon.

He completely bypassed Wangchen’s shoulders, bypassed his arms, and clamped his iron fingers firmly around the thick, heavy back collar of Wangchen’s pristine, diamond-embroidered white Sovereign robes.

SCRIIP...!!!

The sound of high-grade imperial silk groaning under extreme strain echoed in the courtyard.

"Wha—?!" Wangchen choked, his arrogant composure completely shattering into wide-eyed disbelief.

Jiu Zui didn’t just pull him away from Ji’an.

With a terrifying, effortless display of raw, physical demi-god strength, the Sovereign of the Drunken Peak hoisted the nineteen-year-old, fully grown, six-foot-two immortal prodigy entirely off the wooden deck with one arm.

Wangchen’s long legs dangled uselessly in the air.

His white robes billowed around him.

His ruby eyes darted wildly, unable to establish a center of gravity as he was dangled by the scruff of his neck exactly like a wet, aggressive alley cat that had just been caught digging through a garbage bin.

"Master, wait!" Ji’an shrieked, stumbling forward onto the deck, wildly waving her hands. "He’s a disciple! He’s the Ice Peak’s favorite! You cannot hold him by the scruff!"

Jiu Zui ignored his apprentice, glaring directly into Wangchen’s furious, humiliated ruby eyes.

"You disrespectful, silver-haired little pest," Jiu Zui rumbled, his breath smelling strongly of fermented plum wine, giving Wangchen’s collar a sharp, disciplinary shake that rattled the immortal’s teeth. "You break into my courtyard, you ignore my eviction wards, you unbutton your robes on my clean prep tables, and you attempt to burrow into my apprentice’s mattress like a parasitic tick?! On whose authority do you claim floor space on this mountain?!"

"Unhand me, Master Jiu Zui," Wangchen rasped fiercely, attempting to condense a blade of Flawless Ice in his palm to sever the elder’s arm. "You interfere with my Dao. I will—"

"You will achieve maximum terminal velocity," Jiu Zui interrupted ruthlessly.

The Sovereign of the Drunken Peak didn’t negotiate.

He smoothly shifted his immense weight, planting his back boot firmly into the dirt.

He swung his right arm backward, utilizing the same textbook, high-leverage wok-tossing kinetic pivot that Ji’an had used on Wen Shiru hours earlier.

Except Jiu Zui was a demi-god, and his kinetic output was roughly ten thousand times greater than Ji’an.

"Out of my kitchen," Jiu Zui roared.

With an earth-shattering surge of raw physical power, Master Jiu Zui literally, mercilessly YEETED Xie Wangchen across the sky.

The physical description of the throw defied all known laws of mortal aerodynamics.

It wasn’t a shove, nor a toss.

It was a space launch!

Xie Wangchen launched into the midnight air like a diamond-encrusted surface-to-air missile.

He breached the upper canopy of the peach trees in a fraction of a millisecond, his body drawing a flawless, blazing, parabolic arc across the starlit heavens.

His cascading silver hair trailed behind him like the tail of a brilliant, radiant comet, leaving a visible streak of frozen atmospheric moisture in his wake.

He cleared the absolute perimeter of the Drunken Peak, cleared the intervening sea of clouds, and hurtled directly toward the distant, frozen summit of the Eternal Cloud Peak at roughly Mach 4.

A distant, profoundly enraged, magically echoing "MASTER JI’UUUU ZUIIIIIII—!" faded into the upper stratosphere before being entirely swallowed by the howling mountain winds.

"WANGCHEN!"
