Chapter 784: A Close Encounter

"The team led by Drino, then Nine Pacts, and a few more organizations who were contacted by that lawyer Petophil. The gods will also try to kill you once they are out, and they will be free very soon."

Divine recounted, he didn’t even name all the organizations that Petophil had contacted.

"..." Vritra fell silent, just as he expected, this was the silence before the storm.

Things were only going to get more hectic once the attacks start.

One after another, he would be bombarded from all sides.

Just protecting himself would be difficult, let alone protecting his family.

Although all his wives had grown extremely strong already, they still weren’t ready for the danger approaching.

Neither was Vritra.

"Okay, so I doubt the gods would attack themselves, so what is the strength level of the demi gods who are out to hunt me?" Vritra asked, trying to stay calm.

It seemed Shitless was right, his bad time really was about to start.

But no matter what, he would do everything to control his own fate.

"Level 10 demi gods, those are the rulers of the strongest organizations like Nine Pacts and Blazing Blades." Divine replied, not in a hurry to add anything more.

Vritra was distracted for a moment as he heard the second name before asking, "Are you sure it’s not Blazing Blades Chronicles or something like that?"

"No? Why would it be?" Divine replied, shaking the bull’s head from side to side.

’Hmm something feels missing from that name, now it’s only BB?’ he threw away the useless thought and focused on the present situation.

Maybe because he had faced two BBC named organizations earlier, Blood Bone Cult and Big Bang Colony on the Apocalypse Planet, that’s why it felt strange.

"I see, I can take care of Drino’s group if Zihong is the only person above Level 3." Vritra said confidently.

"No matter what Zihong’s level is?" Divine asked, his lips faintly curving though it was hard to discern.

"Yeah, but for the rest, I guess I will have to quickly enter the games and increase my strength, or is there some other way?" he questioned.

Divine of course already knew what Vritra had planned for Zihong. He chuckled and answered, "For now, you can only enter the game and then, as I had mentioned, you can meet the Crying Monk, he will help you."

"Hmm." Vritra nodded, sighing again. He wondered when he would finally be able to achieve peace.

"Anyway, from what I have seen, those people wouldn’t be able to come here until three or so weeks have passed, so you can relax till then. At that time, I will explain the plan." Divine said.

It was not good to constantly be in conflicts, mental rest was also necessary.

For this part, although Divine cannot use his strength, he can at least arrange a few things.

"Are you sure? Those gods will certainly try something once they are released, isn’t there anything I can do for now?" Vritra asked again.

"No, for now just rest, for three weeks you can enjoy your peace." Divine didn’t speak any further, looking back at him with Bullo’s eyes which lacked intelligence.

Vritra stared at the dark sky for a while, how could he just rest knowing so much danger was approaching?

But it seemed the Divine really had nothing else to add, so he could just return to the party for now.

At least the party was going to be peaceful.

...

Back inside the large venue, all the women were a bit worried, wondering if something had happened.

Vritra had already shared with them the news that the Divine was none other than Bullo.

They were extremely shocked, just like Vritra. Though he didn’t tell them instantly and let them think on their own, just like Divine did with him.

So, their first suspect was Shitless.

Now that Bullo, or rather the Divine, had finally returned, they were sure things were going to get real.

Teresa sat between her sister Yasmine and Fiona, while waiting, she began to test various things.

She raised her hand, her fingertips pointing upwards, as tiny invisible walls appeared over them.

Focusing, she was using the walls to restrict various things.

Such as air, sound, flames, time, and even fate, each wall trying to interact with various forces of nature.

A normal person could only focus on one thing at a time and even that would be difficult.

While Teresa was so easily manipulating the walls to change their natures rapidly, trying to understand her powers better.

And using her original powers of controlling fate and creation to try to create ultimate techniques that could be used for various things.

Fiona observed her for a few minutes but couldn’t understand exactly what she was trying to do.

After that incident in the last game when Teresa almost died, the relation between the two had become much better.

They had become good friends, and Fiona finally accepted her as family.

She raised her own hand as blood red flames danced over her fingers, it was the powerful Undying Mythic Halo.

With just this, her strength was definitely very high.

Before, when she had just gotten it, Fiona couldn’t even use a little of its power.

But now, she could utilize it better, of course using it to the max was still not possible.

Just like the other women, she also wanted to grow stronger and face the dangers ahead with her darling.

A tiny wisp of flame transformed into a small phoenix and flew around, it surprised Fiona a bit.

Since she quickly lost control of it and the tiny flame actually moved on its own, rushing in a certain direction.

Making her wonder where it was going, but soon it disappeared, transforming into nothingness.

Fiona silently stared in that direction, wondering if this meant anything.

But then her gaze landed on Yennefer who sat beside her and she became even more shocked.

Yennefer also observed Teresa and Fiona, then remembering that scene earlier, she too extended her hand.

Touching nothing but the air.

She tried to think about that feeling, that faint ethereal feeling of her finger brushing against the darkness.

She was just immersed in thought when suddenly, Yennefer felt as if she had touched something again.

Like a curtain of light or maybe darkness.

Trying to find more, she pressed forward, sensing the strange element she had never felt before.

But just as she pressed forward, her hand passed through the curtain of light, falling into complete darkness.

Yennefer was startled and couldn’t balance herself in time, stumbling forward and completely disappearing into the darkness.

The space and light returned to how they were a moment ago.

Everyone’s gaze turned to the vacant seat, as they all stared at it in silence, shock, and confusion.

"Where is Yenni?" Vritra returned right then, having missed the scene where she passed through the light and disappeared.

He looked around but couldn’t sense her presence, only a faint presence could be felt in front of him.

"S She just disappeared into the light..." Fiona spoke as she rose to her feet, her finger pointing forward.

"Yes, Yennefer just p passed entered the darkness!!" Teresa spoke, she too had seen that scene just now.

"Darkness?" Vritra frowned, and before he could ask anything further, Maeve stepped forward.

Extending her hand, she seemed to be pinching the air but her hand actually disappeared into the darkness.

And after a few moments of searching, she seemed to grasp something and finally managed to pull out the panicked empress.

Yennefer’s body was covered by darkness which was slowly disappearing, it almost seemed as if she had stayed there a little longer, she might have become darkness herself.

"Yenni, what happened?" Vritra took her hand, feeling the soft cold skin against his own, filled with worry.

"I... don’t know." Yenni inhaled and shuddered, that was a bit terrifying, just now she really felt as if she was about to merge with darkness and disappear for eternity.

"Thank you." She looked at the demoness and thanked her. As big enemies as they were in the beginning, the two were best friends now.

So Maeve didn’t really mind all that, she also worriedly waited to find out what had happened.

When did she get the darkness element?

"I think this might be related to your physique, it was not as simple as we previously thought, just controlling those few elements like air, fire, and water. Now that your strength has increased by leaps and bounds, unconsciously, you might be unlocking or tapping into the hidden potential of your physique. I guess it can control far more elements." Vritra spoke after pondering, it didn’t seem to be any enemy’s attack.

After all, Divine had already told him about it.

So only this option remained.

The increase in strength of his wives was quite sudden, and they might still not be able to properly control their abilities.

The abilities they originally possessed and the ones they got recently.

"Are you okay?" Ava asked, as she touched Yennefer’s forehead instinctively.

Yennefer finally relaxed, how could she get sick as a demi god? She nodded and decided to be more careful going forward.

There was Maeve nearby this time, what if she accidentally entered some other element and nobody could get her out?

Would she really disappear completely forever?

Yennefer didn’t even want to think about that.

"I am okay." She replied. Vritra pulled her gently and made her sit.

Maybe after this event, they should first understand their abilities, it would also help them better later on.
