Chapter 426: Substitute Bride of the Demon King (30)

Silas became convinced that it have been an elaborate scheme that had been unfolding from the time the young woman married into his castle. If this scam came to fruition, Leila would rise to become the Demon Queen in the future. Even if it did not succeed, she would have successfully stalled his search, effectively buying time for Ellie and Andre to get married. The funny thing was that he was the only one who was kept in the dark.

The irony of it all struck him hard; here he was, the Demon King and the lord of the castle, yet he felt like the naive fool who had been blind to the deceit that was hidden behind Leila’s charming facade. Each moment of reflection only deepened his sense of betrayal, and it felt as though he was the only one unaware of the truth playing out around him.

Silas grabbed Yue Ran’s hand and stepped forward to question her, "You Tallis noble family members have colluded a long time ago, right? This marriage was a scam from beginning to end! You, a fake, were married here to deceive me so that Ellie could take the opportunity to escape with others!"

Yue Ran was startled by his sudden anger. She did not understand what had happened. She looked at the man in a daze and asked, "What are you talking about?"

Silas looked at the young woman and saw the frightened look on her face. At once, the mockery and anger in his heart burned even stronger.

"You are still lying to me!" Silas shouted. "You have been lying to me from the beginning to the end! You said you lost your memory just to fool me and prevent me from pursuing the whereabouts of Ellie. In fact, you remembered everything! The things you do and the words you say every day are just to buy time so that Ellie and Andre can get married, right?!"

Yue Ran’s face turned pale. She felt flustered, but she still shook her head and denied his words. "What are you talking about? I really do not know anything about amnesia. I just want to make you happy and do not want you to be so sad..."

"Make me happy?" Silas sneered, "Oh, who do you think you are? I already knew you were pretending to have amnesia from the start. I can see how pretentious you are! You are simply trying to imitate Ellie’s every move like a clown. You are ridiculous!"

Hearing this, Yue Ran’s body suddenly stiffened, and she raised her eyes in disbelief. The tears in her eyes almost overflowed. "A clown..."

Such words that stripped one’s self-esteem and trampled it almost made Yue Ran stand unsteadily in place. Her body trembled and swayed, and her lower lip nearly bled after she bit into it hard.

Silas met her red eyes and sneered. "Yes, that is right; you are just a little clown. You think you are pretending well, but in fact, I am just bored and decided to watch a show. Since you want to act, I will just watch it for fun, but your acting is really bad. You can’t even pretend to be like Ellie. You are not as good as your sister. You are a fake from beginning to end!"

Scheming! These are all her schemes!

After hearing those heartless words, Yue Ran’s tears fell directly. Her lips were bitten bloodless, and her face was as pale as paper; even her heart seemed to be torn apart.

"You hate me so much...?" Yue Ran raised a hand to pull on him, wishing for his pity.

Silas violently threw her hand away, and his eyes became fierce. "The person I wanted to marry from the start has never been you."

He knew that he was just venting his anger, directing all his dissatisfaction with Ellie on the person in front of him. But who told Leila to deceive him? Everything was a fraud since she married him!

Yue Ran’s fingers trembled slightly; she squeezed them tightly to try and regain some strength, but it was in vain. The expression on her face was still full of inexplicable fragility and paleness.

Seeing her like this, Silas suddenly felt a slight suffocation in his heart, as if he were pricked by a needle, but the pain was fleeting. He quickly ignored this slight pain, forcing himself to suppress the discomfort in his heart and to look away from her.

Yue Ran lowered her eyes, and all the strength in her body seemed to be drained away. She exuded an extremely depressed mood.

"Okay, since... Your Majesty, the Demon King, hates me so much, then I will leave," Yue Ran said. "I will never bother Your Majesty again in the future..."

Before Yue Ran finished her words, Silas glared at her fiercely. "No, you can’t leave!"

He did not even notice the panic that flashed through his heart at that moment, and then he continued to say something even more heartless.

"I want you to marry Andre," Silas said. "Since you can marry once, you can naturally marry twice again. I will never let Ellie marry Andre. You have to marry Andre in her place."

The Demon King was acutely aware of the cruelty embedded in his words. Every word uttered was like a sharp dagger, thrusting mercilessly into the heart of the person before him. With no hint of remorse, he continued to unleash a torrent of verbal assaults, each one driving deeper, relentless in causing emotional wounds that left the other party battered and bloodied in spirit.

Sure enough, Yue Ran’s body quaked visibly as the harshness of his speech washed over her, and the dam of her composure finally broke. Tears streamed down her cheeks, glistening like scattered beads that had fallen from a shattered string, each drop the evidence to her pain.

The young woman raised her gaze, desperately seeking clarity amidst the tumult of her emotions.
