Chapter 63: Interstellar / 7.12 : Cael
After looking everywhere on the campus for Eden Haoxuan began to panic. He went to the rendezvous point and waited for Qiping and Dawei. 15 minutes later they showed up but from their faces, it was clear they hadn’t seen Eden either. Dawei started to tear up.
"He can’t have disappeared just like that, something must’ve happened. What if someone beamed him into their ship for nefarious intentions? Ever since the video of the royal ball was leaked online we’ve been followed everywhere by reporters and paparazzi. What if they hurt him?"
After holding everything in for so long Dawei couldn’t stop himself from crying anymore.
Qiping pulled him in his arm. He asked Haoxuan:
"The last time you saw him before he ran away he was in pain?"
"Yes, he was breathing heavily."
"It seems like someone forcefully beamed him, that’s usually what happens when that’s the case."
"If that’s the case I already have a list of suspects."
Dawei pulled back and asked after wiping his tears:
"Who?"
"Yanzhao or Shangyu."
Qiping asked with ridicule:
"Did Shangyu show up today? Didn’t he say he was going to look everywhere in the galaxy to become stronger?"
"He did come, I’ll have them investigated to see what happened. You guys go to class it’s about to start soon, I’ll let you know if I find out anything."
Qiping and Dawei reluctantly left after nodding.
Haoxuan left for his office his eyes flashing with something different. He had a long mirror brought and stood in front of it. He put a hand on it and closed his eyes.
"Across the multiverse, my soulmate is lost, through this portal he shall find his way to the one he cares most."
Ripples appeared on the surface of the mirror.
Eden was waiting for his order to be delivered to start the portal when a mirror appeared out of thin air. He walked to it and saw a hand reaching across it. His heartbeat fastened, he gave his hand full of confidence and was pulled to the other side. As soon as he did the mirror disintegrated. He looked at Gege teary-eyed. He hugged him tightly and he hugged him back. For a long time, he stayed in his arms enjoying that beautiful feeling. No one ever had his back beside this man, even if he is stranded somewhere without a way out he’ll always find him.
When he pulled back Gege wiped the tears that had run down his face. Eden could see the sliver of consciousness in his eyes which he loved.
"You found me because we are bounded?"
Gege nodded.
"No matter where you are I’ll always find you, you have a sliver of my consciousness and my heart."
Eden wrapped his arms around his neck.
"And you have mine."
Gege smiled and kissed his forehead. Eden asked:
"What happened?"
"I don’t know I still don’t have enough power to see, I used what I had to bring you back."
Eden asked something he’s always wanted to know:
"What’s your name?"
"Cael."
Eden smiled, so the man he loves so deeply is named Cael. Cael wrapped his arms around his waist and said:
"But I prefer when you call me Gege."
Eden tightened his hold.
"Then I’ll always call you that my love."
Cael felt a lump in his throat and looked down. Even if all those lives are his he is only a witness and it takes a lot of power to be able to control the body. He’s used to witnessing Eden calling him my love or Gege but hearing it to him directly made him emotional and happy. Eden lifted his head.
"Gege?"
This only made Cael more emotional and tears fell. Eden wiped them.
"I’ve only been a witness those past lives so hearing you call me that directly is..."
Cael was so emotional that he couldn’t finish his sentence but he didn’t have to Eden understood. He caressed his cheek his enamored eyes on him.
"Soon we’ll be together right?"
Cael held him tighter.
"We will I swear I’ll never let you go."
Eden’s eyes moistened and he kissed him tenderly. They kissed for a long time feeling like they could never get enough of each other. Cael pulled back and said:
"I have to go."
Eden could see the pain in his eyes like the thought of not being able to be the one at his side was torture.
He felt the same way and it felt impossible to say anything. He nodded and forced himself not to cry.
"I’ll go back in time to when we were in the office okay?"
Eden nodded again. Cael felt heartbroken leaving him and seeing the pain in Eden’s eyes only made it worse. He leaned his forehead against Eden’s and they both closed their eyes. Eden murmured:
"I love you Cael."
"I love you more Eden."
Before Eden could say anything more he was straddling Haoxuan.
He asked his heart beating fast:
"What about what you said to Shangyu?"
Eden felt heartbroken this time compared to the last. He and Cael barely had time to enjoy their moment together before they had to separate again. He looked down crying. Haoxuan immediately hugged him and asked:
"What’s wrong? I’m sorry if I said something to hurt you."
Eden hugged Haoxuan until he calmed down. He pulled back and Haoxuan wiped his tears.
Eden said:
"I only said that to him to make him pay. Yanzhao wants me dead because I was engaged to Shangyu but even now that I’m done with him he still wants me dead. He is the one who left me in that cave full of Goises in the first trial. He plans on killing me during the last one."
Haoxuan gloomy spiritual power started to roam free in the room as his eyes darkened. He caressed Haoxuan’s neck.
"I’ll deal with the two of them during the last trial okay? If I need your help I’ll tell you."
Haoxuan relaxed slightly but he still felt on edge.
His eyes turned sad as he asked:
"So you never meant any of the words you said even the part of me as a partner?"
Eden said:
"I don’t think of you as a partner."
He circled his neck:
"You’re my soulmate, you and me will always find each other through space and time."
Haoxuan’s heartbeat was out of control.
"And you’re mine. I love you, baby."
He looked at Eden nervously. He smiled.
"I love you more Gege."
Haoxuan let out a breath and kissed him passionately. Eden kissed him back. He still feels stunned that he was stranded in another universe and Gege found him. If he didn’t love him before he would fall right at that instant. Whoever Cael is is becoming stronger and they’ll soon be together.
Shangyu was walking toward the simulation room when he saw Yanzhao not far. He walked toward him. He doesn’t feel guilty for leaving him behind and using him but he at least needs to pretend since he is the colonel.
When Yanzhao saw Shangyu approaching he felt hopeful even though he had decided to let him die during the last trial. He would be inclined to forgive him if he apologized and gives up on Eden for good. It would be ideal if he hated him as much as he does and help him get rid of him. He was angry when Eden stopped in front of Shangyu. He hid to the side to listen to their conversation.
Shangyu felt so happy that Eden had taken the initiative to come talk to him, although he felt like something was different with him.
"Hey I need to tell you something, you’re not gonna like it but you need to hear it so you can live your life."
Shangyu felt a bad presentiment.
"What? You can tell me anything."
As he said that he had taken a step closer and tried to hold Eden’s hand but he had avoided it. It made Shangyu feel heartache but he didn’t say or show anything. Eden said condescendingly:
"I didn’t mean what I said the day of the ball I only said it to spare your feelings."
Shangyu shook his head confused.
"What do you mean? You said that if I’m as strong as you we could be together."
Eden chuckled:
"Do you think that if by some miracle you become 5S I would want to be with you?"
Shangyu looked at Eden stunned, he’d never seen him like that.
"Even if your family is wealthy they’re nothing more than merchants and poor compared to mine. Do you even know how old my family is? And contrary to yours, it’s old money. Only someone like Haoxuan is good enough for me, he is a royal. The only reason my father agreed to the union was that he felt sorry for your family and could see how much your father was struggling to enter haute society. Even if he finally did it’s because of my family’s help."
Eden smirked.
"You’re not good enough for me whether it’s your family background or even less your spiritual strength. I would be ashamed to be seen standing by your side and have people know we’re friends let alone husband and wife. You don’t have to scour the galaxy we’ll never be together, even if you were to stay at home waiting for me I wouldn’t accept you as long as Haoxuan is in this world. Let’s just stay out of each other’s way from now on okay?"
Eden didn’t wait for an answer and left whistling.
Shangyu stood in shock looking at him leave. Even when everyone thought that Eden was condescending and an elitist he knew it wasn’t the truth but he was wrong. Not only does Eden think he is too weak for him but even his family background isn’t good enough. Shangyu’s heart broke into pieces, he closed his eyes taking a breath. He’s nothing more than a pebble under his shoe to Eden. Just because he is a Ning he thinks he can look down on him? He thought about when he said as long as Haoxuan is alive. His eyes turned dark and his mind started to meander to dangerous places. He walked to the simulation room unaware that someone had heard the entirety of the conversation.
