Chapter 48: Model / 6.12 : Lie at first sight
When the new episode of Modeling Atom ended Dawson grabbed a vase and threw it on the floor.
"That son of a bitch! And Ezra that useless bastard confirmed Eden’s every word. He should’ve denied it instead but he tossed me under the bus."
Seeing what a coward Eden is he thought he wouldn’t dare say what happened that night. The only good thing is that its hearsay and he has no proof. He can’t take him to court but Grey Modeling and his reputation will suffer. He’s glad that he didn’t mention Erin, he wants her to stay out of it.
He needs to do a press conference and do some damage control. He’ll make sure that Erin is seen as innocent in all of this. If he has to step out of Grey Modeling he will and Erin will run it. He believes in her he knows she’ll do well, right now he just needs to protect her. He invested so much in Astrid and Ezra. One destroyed the reputation he worked so hard to build and the other confirmed that he almost killed Eden.
Erin looked at Dawson who was close to exploding. He was so busy yelling and swearing that he didn’t hear people coming in. She stood up and covered her face crying.
"Please Dawson calm down."
Dawson approached her confused but she took a few steps back crying louder.
"Please don’t kill me!"
Dawson stilled. What the fuck is going on? Does Erin think he would ever hurt her let alone kill her? He loves her of course he wouldn’t. He approached her again.
"Erin what are you tal..."
Before he could finish two men jumped on him and handcuffed him.
Once he was handcuffed they stood him up. He yelled:
"What do you think you’re doing uncuff me right now!"
The detective said:
"Mr.Grey you’re under arrest for the attempted murder of Eden Grey. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you."
Dawson immediately shut his mouth, he knows that it would be best to let his lawyers deal with the situation or he might make things worst.
He looked at Erin who was crying and being comforted by one of the officers.
"It’s okay you’re safe now."
Seeing him put a cover on her made his blood boil but he didn’t say anything. He’s known Erin for 20 years how could she think he would ever hurt her? He’s not worried about the accusation since they can’t use Eden’s words on the show as evidence what worries him is if Erin ends things with him. He looked back at her one last time as he was being led to the police car.
When they arrived at the police station he was led to an interrogation room. He sat there waiting for thirty minutes before the lead detective came. He took a seat and opened a computer. As he went through it Dawson leaned back. He knows he’ll be out of here in an hour. They have no proof and Ezra won’t testify on Eden’s behalf after he destroyed his reputation too. Even if Erin got scared when he threw the vase she would never betray him. He’ll fix things when he’s home, he can’t lose her.
The detective turned the computer and played a video. As Dawson watched it his face fell and he became furious.
"How dare you go through my house without a warrant?"
"We didn’t have to since you’re charged with attempted murder."
"Your charge wouldn’t hold in a court of law since it was based on the words of Eden on Modeling Atom. You know that that tape wouldn’t be accepted as evidence it’s hearsay. But you still used that to go through my house and you know damn well that it’s illegal. You better dropped all the charges right now if you don’t want me to sue you and the entire precinct."
The detective smiled.
"We didn’t have to go through your house and you were arrested after that tape was brought to us."
Dawson narrowed his eyes, he doesn’t know who dared to steal that tape but as soon as he gets his hand on that person he is dead. It’s probably one of Eden’s angry fans, he’s seen all the messages online including the threats.
"Since the person stole that tape it was still obtained illegally."
"It wasn’t obtained illegally, the owner of the house gave it to us."
"That’s not possible I offered my wife the house she would never give you that tape."
The detective showed him a paper and Dawson’s blood ran cold. It was a testimony and there was Erin’s signature at the bottom. He thought about Erin’s reaction when the police showed up. She acted as if he was about to kill her when he just threw a vase on the floor and started to cry. Dawson chuckled angrily.
"That backstabbing whore."
She planned all of this, she must’ve known that Eden would tell the story of that night and decided to give the tape.
The detective asked:
"Did you expect her to stay in an abusive marriage all her life?"
"Is that what she said?"
"She said that she only married you because you forced her using your family’s name. As soon as Eden was born you threatened her with him. She thought that with him gone things would change but that never happened. Even if it was hard she was glad that Eden was away so you wouldn’t be able to hurt him anymore. She decided to turn you in when you said that you wanted to sign Eden at Grey Modeling and then kill him when you made enough money off of him."
Dawson burst out laughing again, his eyes were dark. When she saw Eden on Modeling Atom she begged him to kill him but he had to convince her to wait. Never in his life did he meet someone who hates their son as much as Erin does and she dare betray him and put it all on him? The worst in all of this is that he even planned on letting Eden run Grey Modeling when he knew he wasn’t his son since the beginning. When he met Erin he fell in love at first sight and investigated her past. He knew she had dated Enders Arman and when Eden was born and he saw his blond hair and blue eye he knew that he was his birth father.
He decided to raise him as his because it meant having Erin in his life and he married her. As Eden grew up he could feel her hatred for him and he started to take his distance from Eden. He didn’t want her to hate him because he was close to him. The day he beat Eden she was the one who told him to do it, and while he was beating him she was laughing. She conveniently cut the end of the video as she laughed at a bleeding Eden on the floor. She manipulated him since their first meeting and like a fool he let her. He never had any grudge against Eden all he did was for her and now he’s paying for it.
Erin looked at the crowd of reporters. She just needs to do this then she’ll be able to live a good life. She hoped Eden wouldn’t be in it but she has no choice seeing how much Enders cares for him. She wishes he was as malleable as Dawson, he was so easy to use and now the company and house are hers. As soon as Enders sees her he’ll probably remember their past together and fall for her again. At that point, she’ll make sure he hates Eden as much as Dawson did. No matter what she has to do she will so Eden won’t have a career as a model. He ruined hers why should he have one?
She held the microphone and murmured with tears in her eyes:
"Yesterday Dawson Grey was arrested after I gave the police evidence of the abuse my son Eden and I have suffered over the years. The first time Dawson saw me he fell in love and I was forced to marry him even if I was in love and carrying Enders Arman’s son. Once I gave birth to Eden he knew that he wasn’t his biological son and would always threaten to kill him if I left him. I did everything I could to protect Eden and I was relieved when he left because I knew he would be safe."
After taking a breath she said:
"I didn’t care that Dawson was abusing me because I knew he would be unable to lay a hand on my beloved son until one day it changed. When he saw him on tv he said that he would make him sign at Grey modeling and that once he used him he would kill him. The reason I never wanted Eden to be signed there is that I knew how difficult it would’ve been for him and I was shielding him from the violence, he never knew that Dawson was abusive. All I’ve done was to protect him."
For the next thirty minutes, Erin answered the reporter’s questions and by the end, she could tell that they believed her. As she got in the car for Grey Modeling she looked at the comments online regarding her press conference. She smiled at all the supportive comments saying that she was brave to turn Dawson in when he has such a powerful family. This is easier than she thought it would be. When she arrived at Grey Modeling it was filled with paparazzi and reporters. Her security guards pushed people out of the way and she entered. She walked out of the elevator and entered her office.
Astrid immediately stood up and looked at Erin coming in. Erin took a seat behind her desk and peered at her.
"Sit."
Astrid sat down, she felt her heart beating fast. Her reputation is in shambles and she saw Erin’s press conference. She also saw yesterday’s episode and she finally knows why Eden left. To think that Ezra knew but didn’t tell her. So many things angered her in that episode but what infuriates her the most is that Ezra was incapable to get revenge for her. He looks like a villain the entire episode, between their kiss, him lying to Eden, and using Enders as a way to make Eden look like a whore.
If anything he made things worst. She always thought that Ezra loved Eden but now she knows it’s not the case or he would’ve stopped Dawson from beating him or called the police. Seeing all the episodes she realized that everything Eden said about Ezra is the truth, even when he had her back it was because he knew how much Eden’s parents loved her. She is so done with him, right now all she cares about is fixing her career. She has to be a famous model and for that, she needs Erin’s help since now the company is hers.
"Do you know how much I invested in you?"
Astrid’s heartbeat quickened.
"I know that you did more for me than anyone in the agency and I’m so sorry. I was so focused on destroying Eden but I swear it won’t happen again."
Erin looked at her in silence thinking. She can use Astrid to get rid of Eden for good once Enders is hers.
"If you still want me to represent you you’ll have to do something for me."
Astrid immediately said excitedly:
"I will I’ll do anything you want."
She knows that if she’s fired she’ll never be signed anywhere else so she has to do what Erin asks of her. Erin smiled maliciously.
"Good."
Eden closed Versem with a smile. His mother is so predictable. He felt someone hugging him from behind. He turned in Kalel’s arms.
"What are you thinking about?"
"My mother I can’t wait to see her."
Kalel looked at his mischievous smile and his eyes narrowed. He kissed him heavily. Eden wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him back. After a few minutes, he pulled back and asked:
"What did my father talk to you about yesterday?"
Kalel smiled.
"You, he also threatened me."
Eden laughed.
"Don’t laugh I’ve been friends with him for a long time and he threatened to kill me if I hurt you."
Eden raised an eyebrow.
"You an aspiring model has been friends with Enders Arman for a long time?"
Kalel blinked when he realized what he said. Eden looked at him with an amused smile. He whispered in his ear:
"I know that you’re Kalel Atom."
He pulled back looking at Kalel’s reaction. He looked stunned.
"How long have you known?"
Eden said:
"During the photoshoot audition, I felt someone looking at me, and the first day when our eyes met I had that same feeling again."
Kalel pulled him closer and asked:
"Are you saying you had feelings for me as soon as we met?"
Eden nodded with a slight blush. He felt Gege looking at him during that photoshoot and his heart started to beat faster. He felt him because their connexion is that strong. Kalel’s eyes lit up and he kissed him passionately.
"I love you, baby."
"I love you too Gege."
