Chapter 31: Sorcerer / 5.9 : No going back
Eden woke up alone. He sat up and looked in the distance. He’s starting to lose patience with the twins, that’s why he said he wanted to sleep alone. The GE Trial starts tomorrow and they still haven’t confessed. He told them from the beginning that he’ll be theirs until he tells the realm who he is, and they know he will during the GE Trial so you’d think they would do everything they could to make sure he is still theirs before. He expected that from Shaoren but not Shaotian. He knows that Shaoren expects him to confess first but this is never going to happen.
Even after four different lives with Gege the feels shy when he confesses after he does it first so can you imagine if the role were reversed? Don’t they love him? Don’t they want to spend the rest of their life with him? Plus he still needs to hear them say that they’ll be together in every one of their lives. Before he met Gege he didn’t think words could be like spells, he thought they were just a way to get what you want. Now he’s so dependent on hearing some words from him that he feels uncomfortable if he doesn’t. He sighed, he’ll see how today goes. He stood up and hopped in the shower.
When he entered the dining-room he said hello and took a seat in front of Shaotian. The twins looked at him and frowned. Shaoren caressed his head while Shaotian asked:
"Are you okay?"
Eden answered his head still down:
"En."
They ate breakfast in silence and when he was done Eden was about to leave but he stopped at the entry when Shaotian asked:
"Aren’t you going to attend The Order’s meeting?"
His back still to them Eden answered before leaving.
"No."
Nansheng looked at him leave then at the twins, they looked sad.
"What happened?"
Shaotian answered still looking at the place Eden was just a few seconds ago.
"I don’t know."
He looked at Shaoren and said:
"The GE Trial starts tomorrow what if he leaves after that?"
Shaoren looked at his brother, he has the same fear of course but Eden should at least show them that he cares for them. He can feel it so why doesn’t he just say it?
Nansheng asked surprised:
"You didn’t tell him that you don’t want him to leave?"
He seemed confused as to why the twins didn’t confess that they love him. Shaotian opened his mouth but nothing came out. He’s been wanting to confess so Eden will know that they’re not just using him and that their sleeping together wasn’t meaningless but Shaoren thought they should wait. He looked at his brother and ordered:
"We’ll confess tonight, I don’t want him to leave for The GE Trial without knowing how we feel."
"He should confess first."
Shaotian narrowed his angry eyes at his brother and said:
"Listened to me carefully whether you’re on board or not I’ll do it. Why are you being so stubborn I don’t understand?"
Shaoren didn’t answer. It bothered him more than he let on when Eden kept Huang and Yifeng’s plan from them. Him admitting that he cares for them first would be proof that he doesn’t plan to keep anything from them ever again. He knows that it might seem like two different things but that’s how he sees it.
"Let’s go the meeting will start soon."
Shaoren left and Shaotian followed him.
A-Xuan looked at them leave then at Nansheng. His eyes softened when he saw the smile on his face. He took a seat next to him and asked:
"If you were in their situation would you confess first?"
Nansheng felt his heart beating faster at that. Does A-Xuan expect him to confess? He nodded. A-Xuan asked pulling his chair closer to him:
"So if you had feelings for someone you would tell him?"
Nansheng nodded his cheeks flushed. When A-Xuan pulled his chair closer again he was face to face with him.
He swallowed and decided to do it. After a few seconds of struggle, he kissed him. A-Xuan immediately held onto his waist and deepened the kiss. Nansheng felt relief seeing that he hadn’t rejected him. Even if he knows he likes him he doesn’t how much he does. Does he love him like he does or is it just feelings? For a long time, they kissed like they couldn’t bear the thought of parting. Nansheng pulled back and looked into A-Xuan’s shiny eyes. He could see the love in them.
"I love you."
Hearing that A-Xuan’s eyes moistened and he said:
"I love you too."
Nansheng pulled him in his arms with a huge smile. A-Xuan decided to ask now since he knows he won’t have the courage if he looks into his eyes.
"Will you move in with me?"
They’ve been best friends for more than two years so he doesn’t feel like he’s moving too fast. The only reason he has breakfast here is to see Nansheng but he’d like to wake up at his side and for them to have their own house. Nansheng pulled back and looked at him stunned.
"You want to move in together?"
"I do. You know that I’m alone there now that my parents moved abroad and I want it to be our home. If you want."
A-Xuan looked at him nervously his heart beating quicker. He doesn’t want him to say no and have this relationship start badly. When he saw Nansheng getting teary-eyed he grabbed his hand and immediately said:
"If you don’t want to I understand you don’t have to cry."
Nansheng said emotionally:
"Of course I do. Even if the twins told me that this will be my house once they freed me I knew that at some point I would go. It’s just... I never thought I would have a place I can call home with my best friend and the person that I love. But the truth is no matter where we go it’ll always be home because you’ll be there."
A-Xuan felt a lump in his throat, he kissed him then he leaned his forehead against his. Nansheng closed his eyes enjoying that feeling.
Huang walked out after The Order’s meeting ended but before he could get into his car he was pulled to the side. Yifeng pushed him against the wall holding onto his jacket. He threatened:
"I don’t give a damn if Minglan is your biological daughter or not she’s mine and I’ll never give up on her. If you try anything I’ll kill you all."
Huang chuckled as he pushed him away. Yifeng narrowed his eyes at him while he pulled out a paper from his chest. He took it when Huang handed it to him.
He read the paper and looked at the notarized seal. He looked up surprised that they would give up on their daughter so easily.
"All our wife and I ever wanted was a son so you can keep her."
Yifeng scoffed. How can be so cold after finding out that he has a daughter out there? He knew he was a terrible person but he at least thought he cared for his family.
"No matter what transpired the plan hasn’t changed."
Yifeng simply nodded and left. He got into his car and left for home.
When he arrived after asking a maid where Minglan is he walked up the stairs. He opened her bedroom and saw that she was still lying in bed. When Minglan saw him she immediately sat up and looked at him worriedly. Yifeng took a seat on the bed and handed her the paper. After reading it she looked at her father as tears ran down her face. She hugged him tightly feeling relieved. Yifeng felt heartbroken when he saw how scared she was. Of course, he’ll never let go of her, she’s his daughter biological or not.
Minglan pulled back and wiped her tears. She was so scared that she’ll have to leave her father. She already believed that Tianlin’s parents were horrible but now it’s worst. Her mother gave her away and never cared about her. Just a few hours after they found out the truth they already signed away their rights as her biological parents. Clearly, they don’t care for her. Now that she knows the truth of her birth her initial plan to kill them is back on. It’s her and her father against the world from now on. She said determinedly at her father:
"You were right, the best way to make sure no one will have control of the Order is for them to die."
Hearing that Yifeng smiled. That’s what he loves most about his daughter, she isn’t sentimental, once you burn her she’ll destroy you.
He said:
"Huang said that the plan is still on and I agreed."
Minglan looked at her father angrily.
"Father we don’t need them."
"Sweety you know you’ll have more chance if you work with Tianlin during the GE Trial. Once it’s over we’ll kill them until then you must act as if nothing happened. No one can know that you and he had a relationship and that Huang and Ruiqi are your biological parents. Do you understand?"
Minglan looked down. She knows her father is right but she doesn’t want to be around Tianlin. He’s her brother, her twin and she had sex with him.
She wishes it was just sex but it’s more. She’s in love with him and no matter how fucked up it is she can’t just turn off her feelings like that. She knows that Tianlin has nothing to do with that and that he probably feels awful but he still hasn’t contacted her. You’d think he’d check on her but he didn’t. Since he doesn’t care for her she’ll take their entire family down. She looked at her father and said her eyes flashing viciously:
"We’ll use them then kill them all."
Yifeng smiled approvingly.
