Chapter 253: Heretic / 1.14 : More than ready
Elian entered the tribune and took a seat on the side. He looked at Kian’s aunt Aurelia, who was sitting on one of the thrones. Then he looked at the stadium and his eyes landed on a man in his forties.
He’ll show Kian that he’ll do everything to make his wishes come true if he gives him a chance. He knows he can save him from the poison too. Once Kian assists in the negotiations, and destroys his family’s plan, he’ll torture them until they give him the antidote to the poison.
Once he is saved, he’ll get rid of Lucian, and he and Kian will rule over the vampire and witches together. He looked at Lucian, who had taken his father’s seat again. Serena was sitting on Kian’s throne, talking to him as usual.
In every Beast Warfare, they would sit next to each other and flirt. Lucian completely moved on from Kian, when he saw that his health worsened. He never cared for him, and he’s glad Kian doesn’t care.
He never mentioned him, not even once. That’s understandable, he has bigger fish to fry. When he received a message of confirmation, he smiled.
Kian was about to enter the tribune, but he stopped when he saw Lucian and Serena laughing together. He thought he only smiled and laughed for him. He thought that he was special to him, but it was all a lie.
Kian’s eyes moistened, and he leaned against the wall on the side to take a breath. When he felt overwhelmed, he locked himself in a room and sat on the floor. Why is he even surprised? Kian believed that he was special to Lucian, but why would anyone think he is special?
No one ever believed that in his universe so why would it happen here? He buried his head in his legs for a few seconds. He said that he’ll be strong and ruthless, like Atlas and Eden. But he wasn’t, and he isn’t being it right now. This is so pathetic. Kian lifted his head and looked in the distance.
Over time, his sad eyes turned cold. He waved his hand over his face, and it didn’t look like he had cried before. He snapped his finger and a pair of sunglasses appeared. He put them on and stood up. Kian wiped his pants to make sure he looked perfect and walked out.
Serena fluttered her eyelashes and smiled seductively. When Lucian smiled, she felt her heartbeat quicken again. She can’t believe how things have changed. All she needed was for Kian to be out of the way.
Now everywhere, what people are talking about is how she and Lucian are perfect for each other. She’s glad that things are finally going as they planned. In two days they’ll start the negotiations, and they’ll make a deal with the king to extend their life.
Although she’s pretty sure that Lucian is falling for her, so he’ll want her to live as long as he. When she heard the stadium scream in excitement, she waved at them with a bright smile. She noticed that now people care more about her.
She can’t wait for Kian to die. When she saw a man walk to the glass with his hands in his pockets, she said:
"What are you doing?"
The man waved and people screamed louder. When they all started to chant his name, she realized why people had been screaming. Cayus, Aurelia, and Serena froze in shock. Elian stood up with a smile and asked:
"Are you feeling better?"
Kian lowered his glasses and said with a mischievous smile:
"I didn’t want to miss this Beast Warfare."
Elian smiled.
"I’m glad, I feel that it will be the best."
Kian chuckled and said:
"I’m sure it will be to die for."
Elian chuckled and pulled him into his embrace. When Kian whispered:
"Thank you."
He hugged him tighter. Elian pulled back and felt his heartbeat quicken. He doesn’t know how Kian knows what he has planned, but he’s glad that he is so happy and that he even came.
Kian kissed his cheek and went to the seats. Elian was slightly stunned, but then he woke up and took back his seat on the side. Kian looked at the king and queen and smiled.
Arabella said:
"Kian, I’m so happy you are feeling better."
"Thank you, and thank you for checking on me every day."
Magnus said:
"Of course."
Kian smiled at them and then stood in front of Serena. He simply raised an eyebrow.
Serena felt pissed, Kian looked perfectly fine, like he wasn’t sick those past few days. He looked cockier than usual too, which made her want to kill him now. Cayus stood up and hugged Kian. Kian hugged him back and pulled back.
Cayus said:
"I’m glad you could make it."
Kian smiled. Then he looked at Serena.
"Get up."
Cayus said:
"Kian how about you sit on the side just today?"
Kian looked at Cayus and asked:
"Are you telling your leader what to do?"
Cayus said:
"Of course not, It’s just that I’m sure the crown prince would like to sit next to his fiance."
"If he does, he can tell me himself."
Cayus and Serena looked at Lucian. He’s been spending all his leisure time with Serena, they are sure he is in love with her. Lucian looked at Kian who at no point had looked at him. He said:
"I’d like to sit next to my fiancé."
Kian looked at Lucian and took off his glasses. After putting them in his pocket, he said with cold eyes and a mocking smile:
"I don’t give a damn what you’d like."
Lucian’s eyes darkened, he looked into Kian’s eyes and felt like he was making fun of him for wanting more than friendship between them. He stood up and asked:
"What did you say?"
Kian tilted his head.
"Did I stutter?"
Lucian looked at him threateningly.
"Kian..."
Elian immediately stood up to stand between them, but when Kian looked at him, he stopped. Everyone could feel the tension rising between the two. Serena was shaking in excitement. Lucian is fighting to have her close to him.
The king and queen frowned. He was about to cut his son when Kian did.
"I’m the leader of the witches, no one else. Until I die, I’ll be the one to sit on the throne."
Kian took a step forward and said with disdain:
"No one tells me what to do, even less some stranger I met a few weeks ago."
Lucian felt like he was looking into the eyes of a stranger. He was right not to visit him. Kian waved his hand, his eyes still on Lucian, and Serena was lifted from his throne. Aurelia yelled:
"Kian how can you be so rude?"
Kian ignored her and took his throne back. He crossed his legs and leaned back with a smirk. Lucian turned around and looked at him, then took back his seat. He looked at Serena who was looking at Kian with wet eyes and gave her his hand.
Serena took it, and he pulled her onto his lap. Serena leaned on his chest and held on to him. Kian waved his hand and the announcer was heard saying:
"Are you ready for the first round?"
All the spectators who had been looking at the tribune in shock when they saw the confrontation focused, even if it was hard. Even without hearing what was going on, they could tell that something bad was happening. Kian smiled sadistically, he is more than ready.
