Chapter 250: Heretic / 1.11 : Vision
After the first day of Beast Warfare, Kian decided to go home with the Novas. As he walked to the limo, people screamed their names and took multiple pictures. Kian signed a few autographs and got in the car. He sat next to Lucian while Elian sat on the side.
Arabella and Magnus sat in front of Elian. When the car started to move, Arabella asked:
"Are you feeling better dear?"
Kian said:
"I am, I apologize for making a scene at breakfast."
Magnus said:
"You don’t have to apologize, and I understand why you would feel so frustrated with your family."
Kian said:
"They’re too controlling, sometimes I feel that I’ll die of suffocation rather than illness."
That’s how he felt in the OG TL, but they kept using his mother to manipulate him, especially Aurelia. She was a master at it, that’s why she was so shocked that he drank blood when she wasn’t there.
Kian would do everything she would tell him to, and since she acted like his nurse, he believed he cared for her. He’ll make each of them pay. Lucian pulled him into his embrace, and Kian held on to his waist.
He likes hugging Lucian a lot, he makes him feel comfortable. They’re like two pieces of a puzzle, they fit perfectly. He doesn’t like the idea of that changing if he were to reject him. Maybe he’ll just like him in silence as he does Leah.
Arabella looked at them. Even if she likes that her son cares for Kian, he can’t act this way in public. She saw Serena’s reaction and she understood. Especially since Kian and Lucian were engaged before.
Elian looked at Arabella and then said as he looked at his cell phone:
"Everyone is wondering if crown prince Lucian decided to marry leader Kian instead of Serena, even if he’ll die."
They all looked at Elian. He continued:
"What happened when you held his hand is trending everywhere, they all think you are a couple since you act like it."
The king and queen frowned, Kian looked at them and said:
"We’re just friends, there’s always false stories in the press."
Kian looked up when he felt Lucian tighten his hold.
Lucian looked down at him, Kian gazed into his green eyes and felt his heartbeat quicken. Every so often Lucian’s eyes are so piercing that he feels that he is looking into his soul.
Even if he should be worried that he might see that he isn’t as strong as he makes it out to be, he finds it intoxicating. He feels that it’s bad, he shouldn’t find a man’s look intoxicating. He looked down and then at Elian.
Elian met his eyes and said:
"You should be careful what you project."
"What are you talking about?"
Lucian ordered:
"Enough, Elian."
Elian ignored him and said:
"People won’t like that you’re having an affair with your cousin’s fiancé."
Magnus said:
"Elian, stop."
Kian sat up and asked him:
"People won’t like it, or you won’t?"
"What?"
Kian said:
"I don’t care what people think of me, all I care about is taking care of my people and making sure both our sides become one."
"Isn’t Serena one of your people? She’s your cousin."
Elian felt confused, you would think he would be upset after humiliating his cousin but it’s like he doesn’t care. Kian tilted his head:
"Why do you care so much about what happens to Serena?
Elian opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He doesn’t understand what’s going on. Does Kian believe he has feelings for her?
"I don’t care, I just don’t want your reputation to be destroyed. People will call you a home breaker."
Kian looked at him intently. What the fuck is going on? Does Elian have feelings for him instead of Serena? He checked Versem and saw that it was the case. He saw his worry when he was upset this morning.
This is insane, that’s why he was smiling so much to him. it makes getting revenge on him easier, that’s for sure. Kian put a hand on his and said:
"You don’t have to worry about me, I know what I’m doing. And even if it was the case, I don’t care what people think of me anymore."
Elian looked at Kian’s hand on his and felt his heartbeat quicken. Kian who was listening to his heart felt stunned. Eden was right, the changes that can happen between the OG TL and the current TL are countless.
He pulled back his hand and got into Lucian’s embrace again, and he circled his waist. Elian, who was happy a few seconds ago, felt annoyed now. He looked out the window in silence.
When Kian felt Lucian kiss his forehead, he looked at him stunned, and blinked. Lucian smiled, it makes him happy that Cillian took the initiative to hug him. He even said that he doesn’t care what people think. The king and queen looked at them and then at each other.
When they arrived at the palace, Kian went to his room. Lucian followed his parents to the king’s imperial study. He looked at Kian enter his room, and he just so happened to look his way before entering.
Kian smiled at him, and he smiled back before he walked in and closed the door. His father who had seen the scene pulled him in impatiently. Lucian closed the door behind him and took a seat in front of the desk. Arabella sat next to him and they faced Magnus.
Lucian asked:
"What’s wrong?"
Magnus asked with cold eyes:
"Don’t you already know?"
Lucian leaned back on his chair and shook his head. Magnus narrowed his eyes. He said:
"Even if it wasn’t the time, what Elian said is the truth. You’re going to marry Serena in less than a month, and you’re acting this way with Kian doesn’t look good."
Lucian said:
"She’s not the one I will marry in less than a month, Kian is."
Arabella frowned.
"Darling, no matter how you feel about Kian he is sick, and only has a few more days left."
Lucian said:
"He doesn’t, you’ve seen how strong he is."
Arabella sighed.
"Stars that burn twice as bright, burn half as long. That’s what heretics do."
Cayus said:
"He’s about to become even more powerful before he dies."
Lucian swallowed and looked down. Kian can’t die, he had a vision. He’s the person he’ll spend the rest of his life with.
He must live, he won’t accept anything else. He looked up and said:
"Even if that’s the case I’m not going to stop, If he only has a month left I’m going to spend every day with him. Not his hateful cousin."
Arabella said:
"Duty comes first. We’re not telling you to change, but to at least not act the way you did in public today. You should’ve seen Serena and her mother’s faces."
"I won’t show affection when we’re in public anymore."
The king and queen nodded.
"Is that all?"
They nodded and Lucian went to his chambers. He took a seat on the couch and closed his eyes.
He repeated a few times until he calmed down.
"Kian isn’t going to die."
He let out a breath and relaxed.
