Chapter 210: ABO / 5.21 : Forever promises
Jacob entered the room and looked above Atlas’ shoulder. He was stunned to see how far along he is already. They only started to work on the game a few days ago.
He took a seat next to him and Atlas smiled at him. He smiled back. Atlas looked at him and asked:
"Are you feeling better?"
Jacob looked at him confused and Atlas said:
"Even if I know that you’re okay with ending things with Elwyn you were together a long time."
Jacob said:
"It’s true that I felt a little down and there were times when I wondered if I made the right decision but then I thought about his remarks when I told him how better things were between me and father."
He only realized now that Elwyn used his need for connexion to manipulate him so he would always tell him to show his father how better than him he is instead of trying to resolve the issue.
What he misses is having a partner in his life but that doesn’t mean he’ll stay with someone as terrible as Elwyn.
"I just want to find the right person like father found you."
Atlas put a hand on his shoulder.
"You will I know it."
Jacob smiled.
When Atlas looked at him slightly nervous he asked:
"What’s wrong?"
Atlas said:
"I’m pregnant."
Jacob looked at him stunned.
"You are?"
Atlas nodded.
He looked at Atlas intently and could tell he was worried. Atlas asked:
"Are you okay with that?"
Even if he is worried about how Er-Ge will react he is also worried about Jacob. He and Damian are finally in a good place and he doesn’t want him to think the baby will change that.
Jacob hugged Atlas. He pulled back and said with a smile:
"Of course I am I’m going to have a little brother."
Atlas relaxed slightly, it makes him feel better to see that Jacob is genuinely happy about this. He’s been feeling increasingly nervous and he needed to talk to Jacob first so he can reassure him about Damian.
Jacob asked:
"How did father react?"
"I haven’t told him yet."
Jacob tilted his head.
"Why?"
"I feel nervous about his reaction. What if he feels that it’s too much?"
Jacob smiled.
"Atlas there’s no doubt in my mind that father will be happy. He loves me even though the way I came about was wrong. So of course he’s going to be happy to have a son with his soulmate."
Atlas smiled and his eyes moistened. He hugged Jacob and he hugged him back. He’ll talk to him tonight.
Subsequently working all day Atlas, Damian and Jacob went back home. After eating dinner and showering Atlas sat on the bed waiting for Damian. Damian walked out of the shower and took a seat on the bed.
He pulled Atlas on his lap and kissed him. Atlas wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him back. He pulled back and looked into those grey eyes he loves so much.
He caressed his cheek and asked:
"How is it possible that I love you so much?"
This man still makes him feel the same way he did when they first met, no actually he feels more for him than he did before. He doesn’t see his life without him.
Damian smiled and his eyes turned two shades lighter. His happiness was palpable.
"You must always love me in every one of our lives."
Atlas gave him a peck and swore:
"I will I promise."
Damian smiled. Atlas swallowed and bit his lip. Damian asked:
"What is it?"
Atlas looked into his eyes and murmured:
"I’m pregnant."
Damian asked incredulously:
"You’re pregnant?"
Atlas’ eyes moistened and he nodded.
Damian said:
"I thought you didn’t want children?"
"I didn’t plan for this to happen but I feel less fearful than I did before and with you and Jacob by my side I know that I’ll be okay."
Damian let out a breath. He looked at Atlas emotionally and hugged him tightly. He was scared he might go through with the pregnancy even if that’s not what he wants.
He wants them to relish this moment of joy together. It would kill him if Atlas felt forced to do something that frightens him. Atlas pulled back and asked:
"Are you truly happy about this?"
Damian said:
"Of course I am."
"What about the conversation we had last time?"
Damian explained:
"I wanted us to have a baby but I didn’t want you to do it if it scared you. I would never force you to do something that you don’t want to do. I just want you to be happy."
Atlas looked at his Er-Ge as tears ran down his face. Turns out Damian wanted another child but he pretended not to be bothered by it because he know how scared he was.
This person always puts his needs first. Atlas caressed his cheek.
"If you feel a certain way tell me and we’ll talk it through. I want you to be happy too."
Damian smiled and looked at his baby.
"I won’t keep anything from you anymore I promise."
Atlas pressed his forehead against Damian’s.
"I love you."
"I love you more beloved."
Atlas smiled brightly. Eden was right he shouldn’t have doubted his Er-Ge. This man will always be there for him no matter what.
"You must never leave me."
"Never."
Damian laid down and pulled Atlas in his arms. Atlas held onto him. He smiled when he felt Damian kiss his forehead. This is the first person who’s ever made him feel this safe.
Atlas looked up and said:
"I already told Jacob."
Damian asked:
"What did he say?"
"He was happy and excited at the idea of having a little brother. When he saw that I was nervous to tell you he made me feel better."
Damian smiled. It makes him beyond happy how close Atlas and Jacob are and he’s glad he is alright with the fact they’ll be a new member of the family.
He doesn’t want to do anything that would make him feel like things are going to change. He feels like their family is going to be complete with the next addition.
Atlas woke up and looked at Damian. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling. This person who has been through more than anyone should want another baby but put his need on hold for him.
He was worried at first that Er-Ge might not be able to let him go once he is free but now he knows that he would do anything to make him happy including giving up on him.
He was so sure about all of this but right now he’s the one having doubts. He can’t be away from him for more than a few hours let alone forever. Furthermore isn’t his decision selfish?
Er-Ge always puts him and his feelings first shouldn’t he reciprocate? Atlas caressed his cheek. He doesn’t want to leave him ever and he’s not sure that in the end, he’ll be able to walk away from him and obliterate his soul.
Damian opened his eyes and he smiled at him gently. Damian smiled back and asked:
"Are you okay?"
Atlas nodded.
"I am, I didn’t think I could feel this happy before."
He indeed feels this change in him since the previous universe and the fact he can go through this pregnancy without feeling this overwhelming fear shows it.
When he saw that Er-Ge was angry with him for getting rid of his feelings it woke him to reality. It made him realize that he’s been acting like an adolescent when he isn’t and hasn’t been for a long time.
In a way acting childish and like he didn’t care allowed him not to think about everything he’s been through daily that’s why it all came to light at night and he would have nightmares.
He never processed those feelings but now that he’s talked about it with Er-Ge and Eden he feels much lighter and like he can finally move on. Damian smiled and he kissed his forehead.
He pulled back and said:
"I didn’t think I could feel this happy either."
Atlas has only made his life better.
Atlas’ eyes softened, he’s happy, Gods knows Damian deserves happiness. Atlas stood up and pulled his Er-Ge to the shower. When they finished dressing they left for the dining room.
Atlas took a seat in front of Jacob and smiled at him. Jacob smiled back and gave a sign to see if he had spoken to his father. Atlas said that he was going to talk to him and he was hoping he would do it before the launch party.
His father plans on proposing to Atlas and it would be great if everything was squared away before. Atlas smiled.
"I told Er-Ge."
Jacob looked at his father and could tell how delighted he was. He smiled.
"Are you happy?"
Jacob answered:
"I am I always wanted a little brother."
Damian smiled and caressed his son’s head. Jacob asked:
"Is everything ready for the launch party?"
Damian nodded, he made sure everything would be perfect for the proposal. They both looked at Atlas but he was too busy filling his plate. They couldn’t stop themselves from smiling.
Damian grabbed his chopsticks and pulled out a few things from his plate. Atlas looked at him discontentedly.
"There are things you can’t eat when you are pregnant."
Atlas looked at him pouting and ate. Damian’s eyes softened at his cute baby.
