Tan knocked on Atlas’ door but couldn’t hear anything. He entered his suite and looked around but couldn’t see him. He walked to his brother’s suite disappointed.
Yuning sent someone so he would have breakfast with him on the third floor and he wanted to invite Atlas to join them but he can’t find him. When he entered the living room he looked toward the table and froze in shock.
Atlas was sitting on Yuning’s lap feeding him. Yuning’s happiness was practically palpable. Tan felt like it was the happiest he’s ever seen him. When he was with Yawen he felt as though their relationship was more like a business deal.
But you can feel the love between Atlas and his brother. His heartbeat quickened in excitement. He’s never liked Yawen, he just made the effort because he loves his brother.
Even if he knew that Yuning spent all his time at Atlas’ side when he was sick he just thought it was because he is the offering. But it turns out that Yuning loves Atlas, you only need to see the way he looks at him to know.
He is over the moon, he loves Atlas and he wants the three of them to always stay together. When Atlas looked at him he smiled. Atlas smiled back and stood up. He caressed his head with an affectionate smile.
"Did you sleep okay?"
Tan nodded. Atlas grabbed his hand and after sitting next to Yuning he pulled him on his lap.
Tan and Atlas chuckled when they saw Yuning looking at them discontentedly at this reversal. Atlas shook his head with a smile and after filling their plate they ate.
As they ate Tan asked:
"Are you together?"
His heartbeat was fast as he waited for an answer. He wants them to be together so Atlas will never leave the palace. Atlas asked:
"Would you be okay if we were?"
Tan nodded with shiny eyes. Atlas smiled.
"We are."
"Then you’ll stay at the palace even after the new offering is announced?"
Atlas said:
"If that’s what you want."
"It is."
Atlas caressed his red cheek and said:
"Then I’ll stay with you and Yuning forever."
Tan was incredibly happy to hear that. Besides Yuning he never thought he would meet someone who understands him and doesn’t judge him as everyone does.
He isn’t blind he knows what people think of him. So to have another person who cares for him and doesn’t treat him differently is the best. Tan sniffed the air when he smelled an essence.
He looked at Atlas incredulously.
"You smell like an original. You’re a vampire."
Atlas smiled.
"I had the vampire gene it was just dormant so it was easier to turn me."
Tan couldn’t believe he would be able to feel happier but he does. When Atlas said forever he truly meant forever. Atlas pushed a glass toward him and ordered:
"Drink this."
Tan took the glass and drank it all. When it was done he put it back on the table.
"What was it? It is different than the one you gave me yesterday."
"Yesterday’s potion was to stop your essence from burning faster so you can live as long as any other vampire and this one is to make sure no matter what poison you ingest it won’t have any effect on you."
Tan looked at Atlas stunned. His eyes involuntary moistened and quickly tears ran down his face. He buried his face in Atlas’s chest and he caressed his back. Atlas felt heartache for him.
Tan is so used to only having Yuning at his side that he doesn’t believe anyone will ever love him and have his back. Yuning moved his chair closer and caressed his head.
"The three of us are family so we take care of each other."
Tan pulled back and he wiped his tears. Tan looked at Atlas and asked:
"Why would you do all of that for me?"
Atlas smiled gently.
"Because I love you."
Tan looked into his eyes and bit his lip. After a few seconds he said his cheeks flushed:
"I love you too."
Atlas pulled him in his arms and hugged him tightly. He has a soft spot for Tan and it’s surprising to him since he doesn’t want kids. But he loves Tan and he’ll protect him forever.
