Chapter 1195: Chapter 356: [Pity?] (2)
·
Chen Yan came out of a small supermarket to the left of Hu Shangke’s apartment complex entrance, carrying a bag of groceries purchased from the store. Peanuts, vacuum-packed chicken legs, and the like, as well as a cup of assorted oden.
As he stepped out to the entrance of the complex, he happened to see Xiaopang coming out.
Xiaopang didn’t see Chen Yan; he was walking while talking on the phone.
"...Yes, exactly, the infamous simp from our school’s past years, him! And he’s giving me advice on dating experiences? Where does he get the nerve to act all superior in front of me? The stuff he did at school back then is a well-known joke, spread everywhere. I’m too embarrassed to expose him.
I casually bragged, and now he’s probably losing it..."
Chen Yan was taken aback as well.
Kids these days, they’ve got nerves of steel!
·
Hu Shangke returned home, opened up the front door, went inside, and first set down the medication from the hospital. He went to the kitchen to pour himself a glass of water, opened the medicine box, and took the medicine first. Then he lay on the living room sofa to recuperate for a bit, but the restlessness in his heart...
Damn it, still can’t catch a break!
His body feels weak, but the fever has subsided. He managed to take a nap while on the IV, so at this moment he wasn’t really sleepy anymore. He simply lay on the sofa playing with his phone.
After scrolling through short videos for a while, he gradually began to feel sleepy, and got up to take off his coat and trousers, walked into the bedroom, tossed his clothes next to the bed, and flopped himself onto the bed, wrapping himself up in the blanket, and Hu Shangke fell asleep in a daze.
Time ticked by, and the sky outside gradually darkened.
The lights weren’t on inside the house, and the light dimmed gradually.
When finally the sun had completely set outside, and the sky was pitch black...
Suddenly, the room door seemed to make a soft "click" sound.
Afterwards, the main door lock turned, and the house door gently opened.
No one outside, just the hollow hallway that seemed filled only with the passage of night wind.
Then, the door quietly closed again, and when it shut, the lock clicked back in place, making a "click" sound.
In the bedroom, Hu Shangke who was curled up in bed seemed disturbed in his sleep, mumbling a couple of words, turned over, and wrapped the quilt tighter around himself.
The living room was empty, yet the old wooden floor faintly creaked, as if something was walking over it.
Then, a shadow slowly appeared, and a seemingly half-transparent hand slowly reached out, touching the handle of the bedroom door, as if intending to gently turn it.
In the room, Hu Shangke suddenly furrowed his brows in his sleep.
Then, in a pocket of the clothes he tossed beside the bed, a streak of golden light suddenly shone!
With a buzz, the golden light spread out, and the hand on the door handle outside, as if scalded, suddenly withdrew.
In the living room, a sharp gasp seemed to echo.
With a bang, that half-transparent figure suddenly vanished, and the window in the room automatically opened slightly, letting it slip out.
Hu Shangke abruptly woke up, opened his eyes wide, and stared confusedly at the surroundings of the bedroom.
Gathering himself, he sat up in bed and felt his bladder was painfully full, estimating it was due to drinking a large glass of water with the medicine after coming home.
Getting up and staggering to pull open the bedroom door to go to the bathroom, he shivered as soon as he opened the door.
The living room window was wide open, and the cold winter night wind was chilling the room.
Hmm?
Hu Shangke jolted awake from his drowsiness.
Did I... open the living room window when I got home today?
·
Chen Yan sat cross-legged on the edge of the rooftop of the building opposite, the ground beside him littered with gnawed chicken drumstick bones, peanuts, and leftover oden.
Along with a can of Snow beer.
From his seated position, he had a clear view of the living room window of Hu Shangke’s house.
When that window suddenly flung open, a swirl of grey wind rushed out from inside, and Chen Yan immediately stood up.
He twisted his body, took a glance inside through the window, and his Divine Sense discerned that Hu Shangke’s aura was all normal, which put his mind at ease for the moment. Then he squinted his eyes, watching the direction in which the grey wind was rolling out.
Chen Yan chuckled softly, his form transforming into a sparrow, flapped his wings and flew up into the sky, trailing after it.
·
The grey mist swept through the streets and alleys, drifted across several blocks, and arrived at the riverside.
A few high-rise residential buildings exuding an imposing presence at a glance, complemented by a grandly constructed entrance to the complex.
At first glance, this was the kind of upscale complex that comes with a hefty price tag.
Chen Yan watched the grey wind roll towards one of the buildings, dove into a window up from above, nodded, and then descended to take a look at the name at the complex entrance.
Something something Mansion
Put it this way, the name of an apartment complex usually gives away its price range.
If a complex is named something like "Happy Gardens."
Don’t even need to ask. Just from this name, it’s definitely not connected to the term "luxury house" in any sense!
If it’s named something Mansion, or First Grade, or something Pavilion.
Then the property prices of this complex are most likely of the luxury type, at the very least, locally, it’s at a middle-upper range.
This complex is indeed extraordinary, with every residential building having an entry lobby with security access, and inside, each floor features an elevator-to-home layout.
