Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Court Alchemist
That possibility was the first and most fitting one to cross the middle-aged man’s mind, but he dismissed it the very next moment.
He realized that both the murderous Third Layer Earth Martial Artist and the noble Celestial Martial Artist were acting quite respectfully toward the young man in their group—the one who had struck the Commandery Princess.
This was definitely not how an academy dean would treat a student. Yet, it didn’t quite feel like the relationship between a servant and a young master, either.
For a moment, the middle-aged man’s mind was in turmoil. He instantly became extremely wary of Ye Xuan and his group.
"Young Master Xuan, let’s go."
Hua Luoxuan glanced at the middle-aged man’s group with a disdainful smile and turned to leave.
The group slowly departed.
The middle-aged man’s expression froze. He wanted to act but was powerless to stop them. SWOOSH! Suddenly, he took a step and instantly appeared before Hua Luoxuan and the others.
"I am Meng Yi of Prince He’s household. Who might you be? A Tier Four Celestial Martial Artist is no ordinary person. State your terms. This matter will not end so easily!" the middle-aged man said coldly, his face grim.
He knew he couldn’t stop them, but he absolutely could not let them just walk away. The Commandery Princess had been beaten, and he didn’t have the authority to decide what to do. He had to find out who they were.
"So you want to keep this going? Very well, I’ll play along!" Hua Luoxuan sneered and suddenly produced a badge. "I am Hua Luoxuan, a royal court Alchemist. If you’re not satisfied, you can find me at the kingdom’s Alchemist Association or the Court Alchemist Association. I will be waiting."
’A court Alchemist?’
BOOM!
The revelation sent shockwaves through the crowd.
Hua Luoxuan’s words were like a boulder dropped into a calm lake, causing everyone in the crowd to pale in shock.
In the Royal City, the most esteemed individuals were not high officials or prominent nobles, but the freaks of nature known as court Soul Refiners and Alchemists. They were respected wherever they went. Even His Majesty the King had to respectfully address the kingdom’s chief Soul Refiner and chief Alchemist as "Master."
Moreover, these people all knew each other. Offending one of them was often more terrifying than offending anyone else.
By the time they came to their senses, Hua Luoxuan’s group had already left the restaurant and vanished without a trace.
"Uncle Meng, why didn’t you stop them? They hit me! Are you just going to let it go?" the girl shrieked at Meng Yi like a shrew.
"Miss, that man is a court Alchemist. We must report this to Lord Prince He before making any decisions."
"Hmph, a bunch of useless trash. What’s the point of keeping you around?" The arrogant girl’s eyes were venomous as she ground her teeth. "I’ll make Father kill them."
Although she called Meng Yi "Uncle Meng," it was only because he had raised her since she was a child. In reality, Meng Yi was just a servant in her household. Now that he hadn’t avenged her, she immediately started cursing at him.
"And you two, stop following me. Go back to the academy. You’re all useless. I don’t want to see you again."
The arrogant girl spoke coldly to the two young men who had fought for her.
The two young men exchanged a glance, a bitter smile on their faces.
"Bastards! Trash! You’re all trash!" Before leaving, the girl viciously kicked the City Guard captain standing in her way, then stormed off.
And so, the farce came to an end.
"Captain." The City Guards who had been knocked down by Luo Zhan walked over, their faces contorted in pain. "Should we report this?"
"Report it? Report my ass!" the City Guard captain cursed. The movement aggravated the injury on his chest, making him grimace in pain. "We’re staying out of this. It’s Prince He on one side and a court Alchemist on the other. If we get involved, we’ll get nothing but trouble for our efforts."
He had originally sided with the arrogant girl to curry favor with Prince He, but he never expected that she would not only show no gratitude but also blame him. To make matters worse, he had also offended a court Alchemist in the process. It was impossible to describe how frustrated he felt.
As far as he knew, one had to be at least a Third Grade Alchemist to become a court Alchemist. He, a mere squad captain, could not afford to offend such a person. He would be thanking the heavens if the man didn’t come looking for trouble.
On the streets of the Royal City, Ye Xuan and his group were looking for an inn.
The Profound Spirit Academy’s enrollment wouldn’t begin for another three days. In the meantime, they needed to find a place to stay.
"Hua Luoxuan, are you going to be alright after what happened just now?" Ye Xuan asked lightly. "If there’s any trouble, just say the word."
He had figured out that the girl was likely the daughter of a prince, a Commandery Princess of the kingdom. Although Hua Luoxuan was a court Alchemist, there were many court Alchemists. If a prince really decided to make an issue of it, things could still get troublesome.
"Chairman Hua, I also know some people in this Royal City. Should I go find them?" Luo Zhan added.
Leng Yingying lowered her head. "Chairman Hua, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have provoked her. But I have an uncle in the Royal City, he might be able to help."
With Leng Tian as the City Lord of Blue Moon City, Leng Yingying was not without connections in the Royal City.
"Hahaha." Hua Luoxuan chuckled. "Young Master Xuan, everyone, I appreciate your kind intentions. She’s just a mere Commandery Princess. In the past, this might have been a bit of a problem for me, but now... with your guidance, Young Master Xuan, I am no longer the Hua Luoxuan I once was. A prince is nothing to worry about."
Leng Yingying and the others were completely baffled. ’What does this have to do with Ye Xuan?’ Only Ye Xuan smiled at his words. He knew exactly what Hua Luoxuan meant.
There were many inns in the Royal City, and the group soon found a place and checked in.
"Young Master Xuan, I’m going to report to the Alchemist Association first, and then make a trip to the royal palace. If you need anything, you can find me at the Alchemist Association in the Royal City." After arranging their accommodations, Hua Luoxuan left the inn.
Afterward, Luo Zhan also left. He had many friends in the Royal City, and now that he was back, he naturally had to pay them a visit. Besides, he had another purpose for this trip.
A little while later, even Leng Yingying left the inn. Being new to the Royal City, she also needed to visit an uncle of hers.
Suddenly, only Ye Xuan, Chen Xing, and Feng Rouyi were left in the inn.
Just as Ye Xuan closed the door and was about to begin cultivating...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
A knock suddenly came from outside the door.
"Feng Rouyi." Ye Xuan was slightly surprised when he opened the door. Standing there was none other than Feng Rouyi.
She wore a red leather skirt that showed off her graceful and fiery figure. Her long, crimson hair cascaded down her back, exuding a vitality that pulsed like a flame.
"Ye Xuan, may I come in?" Feng Rouyi asked, her head lowered.
She usually had a fiery temper, but for some reason, she always felt a little timid whenever she saw Ye Xuan.
"Come in." Ye Xuan stepped aside to let Feng Rouyi enter.
Not far away, in the next room, Chen Xing leisurely opened his door. He was just about to go to Ye Xuan’s room to chat, but he happened to see Feng Rouyi walk in. His eyes nearly popped out of his head.
’Holy cow, Feng Rouyi actually went into Young Master Xuan’s room. There’s definitely an affair going on!’
’Tsk tsk, I knew it. Back at Xingxuan Academy, there was something off about those two. So they really have hooked up.’
’I get it now! We’ve been roughing it this whole trip, so Young Master Xuan and Feng Rouyi haven’t had any chance to get intimate. Now that Chairman Hua and the others are gone, it’s the perfect time for a secret rendezvous. Dry wood meets a raging fire... this is the recipe for some real fireworks!’
’Sigh, forget it, forget it. I, Third Young Master Chen, am so considerate. I won’t go bother Young Master Xuan today. I guess I’ll just cultivate all alone.’
Chen Xing shook his head, sighed dramatically at the heavens, and closed his door to cultivate as if his life depended on it.
"Ye Xuan, thank you," Feng Rouyi said softly inside the room.
’Thank me?’ Ye Xuan was completely baffled.
"If you hadn’t sparred with me and helped me open my seventh Profound Vein, I never would have been able to break through to the First Layer of the Spirit Martial Realm in the following months and become a Samurai. And I definitely wouldn’t have been able to join the Profound Spirit Academy."
"Oh, so it’s about that." Ye Xuan was a little speechless. He said lightly, "Didn’t you already thank me? You even gave me a Nixuan Pill. Besides, you also spoke up for me when Wang Fei and Zhou Xuan were causing trouble."
"That’s a different matter. Back then, I was thanking you for helping me break through to Seven Veins. Now, I’m thanking you for allowing me to enter the Profound Spirit Academy a year early."
Seeing Feng Rouyi’s dead-serious expression, a mischievous impulse suddenly rose in Ye Xuan. He smiled and said, "So how do you plan on thanking me?"
"Huh?" Feng Rouyi froze. She had only come over to express her gratitude. As for *how* she would thank him, she hadn’t prepared for that.
Ye Xuan’s eyes widened. He looked Feng Rouyi up and down, his eyes glinting. "Are you planning to offer yourself to me? Ahem, just to be clear, I’m not a casual person. But if it’s you, Feng Rouyi, then I suppose I could reluctantly accept."
Ye Xuan put on an innocent expression. "Go on, lie down over there. Come on, I’m ready. Oh, and remember to be gentle with me!"
"You... go to hell!"
Feng Rouyi grabbed a teacup and threw it at him before storming out and slamming the door.
Watching Feng Rouyi’s departing figure, Ye Xuan chuckled. ’Sometimes, teasing a young lady is a great way to lighten the mood.’
He closed the door, sat cross-legged on the bed, and entered secluded cultivation.
In the next room, Chen Xing, who had been cultivating, suddenly opened his eyes. A lewd expression on his face, he clicked his tongue and sighed. ’Sigh, Young Master Xuan truly is Young Master Xuan. To make Feng Rouyi let out such a high-pitched shriek... so wild! To think that I, who haven’t missed a single issue of ’Playboy’ in hundreds of volumes and know all thirty-six classic positions by heart, still haven’t had a chance to test them out myself!’
Chen Xing tilted his head up slightly, staring forward at a forty-five-degree angle, sighing with endless emotion.
While Ye Xuan and the others were cultivating with their eyes closed, a furious aura was gathering in a magnificent mansion somewhere in the Royal City.
