Chapter 1673: Tale of a Dead Child (1)
Kent found himself as a newborn child, crying in his mother’s arms.
Maybe Sanders did it deliberately, but surprisingly, Kent didn’t seem offended. In fact, looking at his mother’s smile, he felt very happy. He liked the feeling of being a baby in his mother’s arms once again.
His mother was a beautiful blonde with sharp features and blue eyes. While Adina, the succubus, was the most beautiful woman in his harem, his mother was on another level.
Turning slightly, Kent saw a man clad in armor standing beside his mother. The man had short dark hair and a pair of green eyes. His ears were longer than a human’s, and judging by the bow in his hand, Kent concluded that he was an elf.
His mother was human, at least by her appearance. But she is way prettier than most elves.
Aside from them, another woman was in the room. She was also good-looking, and, since she had delivered Sanders, Kent concluded that she was close to his parents.
"Anara, looks like your son has your eyes," the woman said, widening Sanders’ mother’s smile.
"I gave birth to him, after all." She smiled and planted a kiss on Sanders’ forehead, something Kent instantly liked.
Sanders’ father, David, one of the Heaven Guards, smiled. "He will grow up to become a legendary warrior like his father."
Anara smirked but said nothing to dispute David’s words. "I just hope he grows up happy and surrounded by love."
And so, years passed, and, as Lady Anara wished, Sanders grew up in a world surrounded by love. He had everything and was loved by everyone.
The woman who had helped deliver him had a daughter two years older than Sanders. Growing up, she became his big sister and spoiled him rotten.
Sanders received basic archery training from his father and divine magic from his mother long before he turned sixteen. With the power and position his parents held, he had a significant head start.
However, everything changed on the day of his awakening.
That day, he was surrounded by his family, friends, and people from both the Divine Temple and the Heaven Guards. They had all come to welcome the next great figure in the world of combat and magic.
Everyone knew he would become a legendary figure, so they came to witness it.
However, on that very day, the Soul Temple attacked, and Sanders was killed.
The Soul Temple saw him as a threat, and so, before he could awaken, the 100th Soul Elder and the 78th Soul Elder led a team of Blood Warriors to attack.
According to a prophecy spoken years ago by the Grand Blood Seer, a Child of the Dead would be born, and he would plunge all life into the domain of death and darkness.
According to what the Soul Temple revealed, this child was Sanders, so they believed they were doing the universe a favor.
What many did not know was that the prophecy also stated that the Child of the Dead would rise and judge the universe, deciding who deserved to die while taking command of death itself to carry out its unholy work.
His true purpose was to rid the universe of the Soul Temple and other organizations that thrived by capitalizing on the deaths of others. He was meant to become one of them to get rid of them.
In the end, Sanders, alongside a few others, died.
However, as his parents and friends shed tears, Sanders finally came face to face with his true destiny.
Deep within the Undead Realm, he stood before a book that would one day become known as the Undead Codex.
When his blood touched the cover of the book, he awakened the long-lost Necromancer profession, the Bone Lich Emperor Class.
Legends spoke of a time long ago when a legendary necromancer walked through the Primal Chaos, wielding the power to create life from bones.
It was said that with a single bone, this necromancer could create life and bestow upon his creations powerful abilities, traits, bloodlines, and much more through the power of the Undead Codex.
The legends further stated that deep within the River of Time, this undead man walked, and the heavens named him the Bone Lich Emperor.
The day Lady Anara held the torch, preparing to light the pyre and burn Sanders’ body, he rose, and under the stunned gazes of everyone present, his appearance changed.
His blond hair and blue eyes turned crimson.
A bone-like throne appeared behind him, accompanied by a bone staff and a grimoire that the universe would later come to know as the Undead Codex.
That day, the living child of the Divine died and rose as the Child of Death.
Sanders looked at his mother and smiled.
"I will always have you in my heart, Mother."
With those words, he vanished, and nobody heard from him again for 200,000 years.
Throughout those 200,000 years, his parents were pressured repeatedly to reveal his whereabouts, but their answer remained the same: they did not know where he had gone.
His mother lost her position as one of the Goddesses of the Divine Temple, and his father was dismissed from the Heaven Guards. Their businesses were destroyed, and they were plunged into poverty and hardship.
Within their inner circle, only one person remained supportive: Sanders’ big sister, Yumy, whose mother died when Sanders was killed by the Soul Temple.
She supported Sanders’ parents, and despite the backlash she continuously received, she never wavered.
Eventually, the Church of Light stepped in and attempted to suppress her, but no matter what they did, she never yielded.
However, after 200,000 years of trying, they finally killed Yumy and imprisoned Anara and David.
Even then, Sanders did not return.
It was only after another 300,000 years that tales began to spread of a necromancer commanding an undead force so powerful that entire armies trembled before him.
It turned out that when Sanders left, he had gone to the Undead Realm to grow stronger, as it was the only place where he could truly develop his newfound powers.
Everything that happened to his parents had remained unknown to him. In fact, he left so they wouldn’t be pushed into the situation of choosing him or their roles in the universe.
He had experienced his fair share of dangers within the Undead Realm. There, he built his strength until he reached the Undead God Stage before finally returning.
However, when he returned to the land of the living and discovered what had happened, blood flowed, and the dead no longer remained dead.
Kent witnessed with his own eyes as legendary undead warriors laid waste to entire armies.
The one named Kaizo served as the vanguard, blasting his way through every obstacle in his path.
Years later, it would be written within the dark Chapters of the Divine Temple that whenever the phrase "Here I come!" echoed across the battlefield, what followed was a mountain of a man clad in golden armor and bathed in golden lightning.
Kent also witnessed Kaizo’s creation.
Kaizo had been forged from the skull of a Divine Titan, a being who had existed long before the True Primordial Era.
Their race had reigned supreme during the Nameless Era.
Years later, after finding no way to kill the one truly responsible for the death of his best friend and his big sister, Yumy, and the imprisonment of his parents, Sanders decided to rescue them instead.
However, he soon found himself facing two major problems.
First, he had no way of cultivating Chaos Qi, and since the Chaos Abyss was a place that only beings who cultivated Chaos Qi could enter, he had no means of venturing there.
None of his undead could either.
Second, even if he somehow found a way to cultivate Chaos Qi, he would first have to travel to the Abyssal Realm and seek permission from the Abyssal Monarch to use the Chaos Gateway.
Unfortunately for him, he had already offended that fellow back when he was in the Undead Realm, so that option was completely out of the question.
However, through years of research, Sanders discovered that a very long time ago, an Underworld warrior had killed a prince from the Chaos Abyss, and his bones had been preserved within the Underworld Vault.
"If I get my hands on those bones, I can create my first Abyssal Chaos Undead. They will help me rescue Mom and Dad."
Thus, he ventured into the Underworld.
