Chapter 95: Encounter With Gods
And for the first time since descending upon Earth...
The Demigods felt fear.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The gigantic sword phantom descended.
The heavens split apart.
The already shattered sky collapsed completely, revealing an endless darkness beyond.
At first, Amon thought it was merely another layer of space.
But after taking a single step forward...
He froze.
He was no longer standing within the universe.
He was standing inside a boundless void.
Silence filled the surroundings.
There were no stars.
No galaxies.
Only hundreds of worlds floating peacefully within the endless darkness.
Some were green, flourishing with life.
Others burned endlessly.
Some seemed bluish, as though they were completely submerged beneath vast oceans.
Others had long since become barren wastelands devoid of civilization.
And surrounding these worlds...
Were thrones.
Hundreds of them.
Some were made from bones, while others were forged from gold.
Some appeared to have been carved from the stars themselves.
And seated upon those thrones...
Were figures possessing terrifying auras.
Gods.
Hundreds of Gods.
At this moment, they weren’t fighting.
Nor were they cultivating.
They simply sat there leisurely, watching the worlds before them.
Some drank wine.
Some played chess.
Others leaned back against their thrones with relaxed expressions.
Their gazes occasionally shifted toward one world or another.
Almost as though they were watching a television show.
"Hm?"
"The humans from World Seventy-Three have finally reached their industrial age."
"Haha, that’s fast."
"I gave them mana five hundred years ago."
"No wonder."
Another God chuckled.
"The ones from World Twenty-One are amusing."
"They just discovered a way to split atoms."
"How long before they destroy themselves?"
"Three hundred years."
"No."
"I’d say less than a hundred."
Several Gods laughed.
Meanwhile, a beautiful goddess stretched lazily.
"The entertainment value of World Fifty-Eight is dropping. Should I send another calamity?"
A burly God shrugged.
"Do whatever you want. I already ended mine as soon as I was getting bored."
Another deity sighed.
"My chosen hero disappointed me."
"He defeated the calamity too early."
"I’ll just restart the civilization."
Amon listened quietly, dazed by his surroundings.
He floated aimlessly in the void when suddenly his perception shifted back to a blue world.
Earth.
His world.
His home.
The world where Kayla was waiting for him.
The world where Ciara, whom he cherished, was waiting for him.
The world where countless people struggled every single day simply to survive.
The world where billions had died during the beast tides.
The world where humanity desperately fought against endless dungeons.
And gradually, his eyes widened in realization.
He finally realized what the true calamity was...
The beast tides.
The monsters.
The so-called balance.
The Demigods.
Everything...
Everything had merely been for entertainment.
Humans struggled and died.
Civilizations rose and fell, while entire races vanished into history.
And these bastards...
These self-proclaimed Gods...
Simply watched.
As if it were a game.
As if it were an amusing performance.
As if the lives of everyone he loved meant absolutely nothing.
Crack.
Crack.
Crack.
The surrounding void began to distort.
A terrifying killing intent erupted from Amon’s body.
It was so dense that even the endless darkness trembled.
Suddenly, the chatting stopped and the laughter disappeared.
Instantly, hundreds of gazes landed upon him.
For the first time since he emerged from the planet...
The Gods noticed him.
A young God stood up abruptly, his eyes filled with shock as he glanced at Amon.
"Impossible! How did he get here?"
Another deity frowned.
"Someone escaped?"
"Since when was that possible?"
An elderly God narrowed his eyes as he examined Amon thoroughly.
"No..."
"He didn’t escape."
"He cut his way here."
Silence followed.
Several Gods revealed interested expressions, while others became cautious.
Because they could feel it.
The killing intent pouring from Amon’s body.
It wasn’t ordinary hatred.
It was the desire to massacre every single one of them.
A beautiful goddess frowned slightly.
"Human."
"Why are you looking at us like that?"
Amon slowly raised his head.
Beneath Ataroth’s Mask...
His expression was terrifyingly calm.
Yet every God present could feel the boundless fury hidden beneath that calmness.
"It seems this is all a game to you..." Amon calmly muttered, almost as though he was muttering to himself.
Hearing the tone, a few Gods ran through their minds and acknowledged the language he spoke.
A burly God chuckled faintly...
"So what? Aren’t mortals supposed to entertain us?"
"They exist because we allow them to."
"Without us..."
"There wouldn’t even be lower worlds."
Amon lowered his head.
Then...
He laughed.
A low laugh.
One overflowing with endless killing intent.
"Hahaha..."
"Hahahahaha..."
Azrael trembled violently.
For the first time since obtaining the Mythical Primordial Netherworld Sword Technique...
Amon reached toward a sword form he had never touched before.
One that even Azrael seemed to fear.
’God Slaying Sword Art...’
’Twelfth Form...’
For the very first time...
Amon activated the sword art hidden beyond the Eleventh Form.
Instantly...
The entire void darkened.
Not because light had disappeared.
But because the laws governing this place had begun retreating.
The hundreds of worlds floating throughout the void trembled faintly.
The chatting Gods gradually fell silent.
Some quietly placed down their wine cups.
Others slowly rose from their thrones.
Even those who had remained indifferent until now finally revealed solemn expressions.
"This aura..."
"The power of a God?"
"Impossible."
"How could a lower being comprehend something like that?"
Amon never answered.
His eyes remained fixed upon the blue world floating amongst the countless others.
Earth.
It was tiny.
Insignificant.
No different from every other world surrounding it.
Yet inside that tiny world...
Kayla was waiting for him.
Ciara was crying while calling for her father.
And these bastards...
These self-proclaimed Gods...
Had treated the world containing everything precious to him as nothing more than a toy.
A place to watch.
A place to laugh.
A place to pass the time.
His killing intent surged even further.
For the first time in his life...
Amon genuinely wanted to slaughter every living thing before him.
No negotiations.
No threats.
No words.
Only death.
Azrael trembled violently.
As though it too could sense its master’s emotions.
Then...
Amon moved.
BOOM!!!
The place where he had been standing exploded.
His figure vanished.
Appearing directly before the nearest deity.
Azrael descended.
The Twelfth Form erupted.
A pale sword light silently crossed the void.
The deity’s expression changed drastically.
Without hesitation, he raised both hands, and golden divine power erupted.
A gigantic shield condensed before him. However, the result of the collision was...
BOOOOOOM!!!
The shield shattered, and the throne behind him exploded into fragments.
The deity himself was blasted backward for thousands of kilometers.
A thin line of blood appeared at the corner of his lips.
Instantly, silence descended upon the void.
The surrounding Gods stared.
He was injured.
After countless eras...
A God had actually been wounded by a lower lifeform.
A wave of shock, astonishment, disbelief, and confusion spread throughout the minds of the Gods.
However, they quickly regained their composure. After all, they were Gods who had witnessed countless eras.
Before Amon could continue...
Hundreds of terrifying auras erupted simultaneously.
The void shook violently.
One after another, the Gods stood.
Their previous amusement had disappeared completely.
They no longer looked at Amon as an entertaining anomaly. Rather, they now looked at him as a genuine threat.
An elderly God frowned and said in a meaningful tone.
"I have a proposal for you, human. Set aside your grudges and anger and join us. We can promise to keep your planet safe."
Amon glanced at him and didn’t reply. Instead, he just calmly raised Azrael.
The elderly God’s expression changed slightly.
"You seem to have misunderstood something."
"We are not the Demigods below."
Another deity spoke coldly.
"You possess power capable of threatening us. But threatening us doesn’t mean defeating us."
Amon laughed underneath Ataroth’s Mask.
It was a low laugh filled with madness.
"Defeating you? I don’t care if I can defeat you."
His gaze swept across every God present.
"I simply want all of you dead."
"Since I want to kill Gods, who dare stop me?"
BOOM!!!
He attacked once more.
However, this time...
Hundreds of Gods moved together.
Space shattered and time distorted.
Divine laws intertwined.
Azrael clashed against divine weapons.
Sword intent collided against godly authority.
The resulting shockwaves alone caused nearby worlds to tremble.
Amon fought like a madman.
He ignored his injuries.
Ignored the attacks raining upon him.
Ignored defense completely.
His mind held only one thought.
These beings.
These beings had sat here laughing while Kayla feared for his safety.
While Ciara waited for her father.
While endless calamities descended upon the world that held everything precious to him.
He wanted them dead.
Yet...
As the battle continued...
Amon gradually realized something.
He could injure them.
Threaten them.
Even force them to become serious.
But...
He couldn’t kill them.
At least...
Not yet.
An attack powerful enough to split apart divine laws merely forced one God backward.
Another casually dispersed his sword intent.
A third grabbed Azrael’s blade with his bare hand before throwing Amon across the endless void.
BOOOOM!!!
Amon crashed into a floating fragment of reality.
Blood slowly flowed from beneath Ataroth’s Mask.
His breathing grew heavier.
For the first time since arriving here...
Amon understood.
The Twelfth Form was terrifying.
Terrifying enough that the Gods no longer dared underestimate him.
But...
It still wasn’t enough.
Not against hundreds of Gods who had existed for countless eras.
Not against beings who viewed entire worlds as games.
And certainly not enough...
To slaughter every single one of them.
Not yet.
"God Slaying Sword Art."
"Thirteenth Form: Last Judgment of Heaven."
