Chapter 93: Sera’s realization
Sera’s hair was yanked violently, the sheer force tilting her head upwards. For a moment, Sera was stunned before a pair of cold eyes dropped on her.
"Do you think...you are the strongest? Just because you have a higher cultivation, how dare you talk to me like that?"
Emperal spoke, his voice colder than ice. Applying more force, he slowly lifted her body.
Her blood was still flowing endlessly, dripping on Emperal’s arm. But, he of course didn’t care.
"Hmph, you are still alive. Be thankful to Lady Dresh."
Saying that, he threw her to the ground. Her expression was still incredulous. But once her head hit the cold ground beneath,
She was snapped back to her senses.
"YOU BASTARD!!! DIE!!"
Without hesitation, she raised her hand. A single, terrifying aura burst from her body. Blasting away the two men and even affecting some trees.
"Tch, so you really need to be taught a lesson the hard way, huh?" Emperal muttered, the Verth in his body shifted.
Thick scales began to spread throughout his body, covering his neck, chest, and forearms. Yes, the scales even covered the chest now.
"How dare you treat me like that!!?"
Sera roared, her voice cracking. It seems her pride was wounded...heavily.
"Hmph, try thinking before opening that nasty mouth of yours then."
The air shifted as Sera threw the spear toward Emperal with all her strength, the spear... it seemed to have marked his aura, and was heading straight for him.
Emperal clenched his fists, his nails extended into thick claws as his knuckles and the back of his palm were covered by the Magma Scales.
"Kraeth’sol"
Without hesitation, he punched forward. The Draconic flames of the Mighty Infernal Dragon compressed in his arms.
The moment they connected with the spear, a massive explosion rang out.
BOOOM!!!!!!
The shockwave even pushed the trembling Sera back, her expression twisted in horror.
"W-What!? Since when did he become so strong!?"
She thought to herself in shock, the last time she had seen him...he was nothing but a Verth Seeking brat...
"H-his aura!!? He is still a Verth Seeker—!!"
Sera muttered, her expression going through multiple changes. Soon, the shockwave subsided. But the smoke was still present.
Step. Step. Step.
Sera’s heart skipped a beat when she heard a pair of footsteps; her mind was thrown into chaos.
"How is this possible? I have used my entire Verth in that attack! And he is still standing and walking?"
From the smoke, a vague figure emerged. He had flowing black hair with silver edges, his eyes were dark. Dark as the abyss itself.
But at this moment, they were glowing—Glowing in fiery Amber.
Emperal walked towards her, the scales on his body slowly vanishing. He exhaled lightly.
"The Verth Spring...it really is a lifesaver."
It was, of course, because of the quality of Verth he was using, which had come straight from the illustrious Verth Spring.
Its one drop was comparable to dozens of litres of normal Verth, and Emperal had an endless supply.
He exhaled lightly; his eyes reflected the trembling figure on the ground. A rare, wide grin stretched across his face.
His right arm extended, milky white energy flashed. Forming a long, sharp sword.
"Now, now. What should I do with you? I am sure Lady Dresh wouldn’t notice if I killed her subordinate. What do you say?"
His smirk was evil, the sword in his hands threatening.
Sera literally saw a demon in the face of the human standing in front of her. But his words...brought her senses back.
"If you kill me, Lady Dresh will definitely take revenge. And let me say, behind that smiling mask of hers, there is a dangerous, vengeful spirit hidden. No matter how you try to hide, she will find you."
The more she spoke, the more confident she became. But despite that, she was sweating like a pig from the inside.
"Shit, I should have controlled myself a bit. He was just asking for her damn location!"
She couldn’t help but curse herself, a mistake...she had made a mistake, and she is paying for that.
"Oh?" Emperal raised his brows when he heard that, taking a step forward, his right arm blurred slightly.
Slash!
Thud!
A sharp pain shot through Sera as she snapped her head down.
"M-My finger!"
She recoiled in horror as she saw her middle finger and index finger slide down cleanly. The slash was so clean that she felt the pain after the two fingers slid down.
"You monster!"
Sera hurriedly backed away, suppressing the pain. But, there was not a single twitch on Emperal’s face.
"You still don’t seem to understand your situation, huh? It seems I really have—"
"W-W-Wait!! I will speak, I will speak!"
Seeing the muscles in his arms twitch lightly, she screamed and raised her hand. Surrendering in an instant.
"This man, he...he is the real deal. One wrong step and I might lose my head today. I’d better drop my arrogance."
She stuttered inwardly, yes, the high and mighty Sera was...scared.
Scared of the demon walking towards her.
"Good girl, if you had done that from the beginning, this unnecessary stuff wouldn’t have happened."
Emperal nodded in satisfaction. The Soul Energy dissipated from his arms. Sera sighed in relief when she saw this.
But inwardly, she was full of grievances; she had lost one of her precious ears and two fingers.
This trip was...really an eye-opener. Looking at the figure walking towards her, she slowly stood up, waving her hand, and a pill materialized in her palms.
Without hesitation, she swallowed it. After a few seconds, the striking pain in her body began to subside.
"Now, speak."
"Y-Yes."
Sera took a deep breath. "Lady Dresh is in trouble."
She said, but to her surprise, there was no ripple on his expression. He looked at her flatly.
"Continue." He spoke.
"A few days back, Lady Dresh had stumbled upon a huge piece of a map that could potentially lead to a dungeon in the Outer range."
"!!!"
"No way, she really is lucky."
Emperal couldn’t help but speak, like, what did she mean by stumbling upon a map?
"Yes, but that was just the half of it."
"What about the rest?"
"...It is with the IronClaw Dragons."
