Chapter 116: Elf Meat?

Cough! Cough!

The tall woman coughed up blood all over Emperal’s arm as he squeezed her tighter and tighter. The other men immediately took out a blood-red sword. Alas, the fools were a bit too late.

"Dare to move from your place, and I’ll be eating Elf meat tonight." Emperal’s cold voice stopped them in their tracks. Even their leader, the tall woman, was scared shitless when she heard those words. She hurriedly waved her hand for them to stand back, which they reluctantly did.

"Mhm, good girl." Emperal nodded in satisfaction when he saw that. He raised his sword to the injured duo, who were slowly healing themselves.

"Now get lost. I’ll have a word with your leader in private."

The moment those words echoed, their expressions changed drastically. The woman screamed.

"YOU DEMON! DON’T YOU DARE! Her brother is the Leader of the CrimsonBlood Elves! If you dare do anything humiliating to her, you will be hun—!!"

Before she could finish... the words never came from her throat. Her vision darkened as her head slowly slid down from her body.

The other three were horrified when they saw this. Fear and helplessness gripped their hearts as they looked at Emperal’s cold eyes.

"Do I need to make another example, or will you leave? And don’t worry, I’m not interested in this woman. My standards haven’t fallen that low yet."

Although it was difficult to just leave their leader with such a heinous dragon, they... reluctantly took a few steps backward and leaped off.

Emperal looked at their disappearing backs for a few more seconds before shifting his eyes back to the woman in his grip. She was looking at him with hatred shining in her eyes alongside... helplessness.

Emperal snorted when he saw this. "Why are you people so foolish? Didn’t I already show mercy when I asked you to leave the first time?"

Emperal spoke, his deep voice cutting through her hatred like a knife through butter.

"What would you have done to me if I didn’t have this strength to protect myself? I would have certainly been mauled to death."

The more he spoke, the stronger the disdain in his voice. The woman trembled further as she listened to his words.

A second later, Emperal relaxed his grip. With a thud, the woman fell on her butt.

Cough! Cough!

She began coughing violently. Emperal’s grip had almost shattered her hyoid bone and damaged her larynx.

But... the healing abilities of an elf were simply extraordinary, especially if they were from one of the Four Great Elven clans.

A few minutes later...

"So? What’s your name? Who are you, and why did you attack me out of nowhere?" Emperal squatted down and asked the woman.

The Crimson-haired woman glared at Emperal.

Slap!

A tight slap landed on her face. She was stunned. Her entire cheek turned bright red. She snapped her head at Emperal. Her expression filled with disbelief.

"Did you just... slap me?"

She asked, those words barely resurfacing amidst the sea of humiliation.

"Yes, I did. Now, I’ll slap you again if you misbehave. And believe me, I don’t give a shit if your brother is the leader of your clan in EverHeart."

His cold words forced the curses she was going to utter right back into her throat.

"I–my name is Sarina. I am a Blood Elf, and the reason why I attacked you earlier is that I-I liked that sword."

She stuttered, her cheeks burning in humiliation. From the moment of her birth, she had been... sheltered by her big brother and Dad. All the fights she had were monitored, and all the people she killed were forced.

So naturally, if someone like Emperal met with such a woman, the result of this meeting was inevitable.

"Sarina, huh? And you said you want my sword?" Emperal spoke as he pointed at his back.

"...Yes?"

Sarina tilted her head in confusion. She wondered why the man was asking the same question.

Emperal’s lips curled up. "Here, have it."

Saying that, he threw his sword towards the woman.

Sarina, although shocked, didn’t hesitate to reach out towards the sword.

But the moment she grabbed the sword... her entire center of gravity shifted. Her eyes widened in horror as the sword’s weight hit her.

"W-What!?"

THUD!

Once again, she fell down, and this time... the sword fell on her!

"What is this sword!? Why is it so heavy and... evil?"

Her stomach churned the moment her flesh came into contact with the sword. The sword slowly began to glow.

Sarina was horrified when she saw small tendrils of darkness surrounding the sword. Her eyes rolled back. Just as she was about to faint, a strong hand gripped the hilt and raised the sword back effortlessly. Only then did the sword calm down.

Sarina heaved a sigh of relief when the enormous weight was finally lifted off her shoulders.

"Now get up. For the next few days, you’ll be travelling with me. I need someone for mapping this Inner zone, and I’m sure you Blood Elves are masters at that."

Emperal spoke as he quietly stood up. Sarina grit her teeth hard. But... having no choice, she too slowly stood up.

She dared not threaten him with her brother’s name, or who knows what might happen.

Emperal nodded in satisfaction when he saw her. "Alright, let’s go. Also, brief me on the details about the Inner Region. The Factions, the beasts, and the treasures. I need to know everything you know."

Emperal spoke. Sarina’s eye twitched, but she controlled herself. Taking a deep breath, she parted her lips.

"Seventy miles from here, around that huge tree, is my clan stationed, and parallel to it is the... Lumenaura clan."

Emperal narrowed his eyes when he heard that name. Even if one wasn’t from Aelvorn, an individual must have, at least once in their lifetime, heard about the Lumenaura Elves. The strongest clan in Aelvorn.

Their affinity with Life... gave them an inherent advantage over all forms of life. Even their current leader, Zeratheil Mythravel Zephrus... was from the Lumenaura clan.

"I see."

Emperal nodded when he heard those words. "Then what about the Dragons and Phoenix? Are they here too?"

He asked. To answer his question, Sarina nodded grimly.

"For some... strange reason, the Stormhorn clan is in a fight with the Phoenix’s Vice Leader."

"...Say what?"
