Chapter 41: Chapter 41
Kyra’s POV
I gasped awake, my fingers digging into the sheets as I struggled to steady my breathing. My heart pounded like a trapped animal in my chest. The nightmare clung to me—the scent of blood, the gunshot, Kieran’s eyes burning with feral rage.
"Sylvia," I whispered to my wolf, "the pup—"
"Our pup is safe," Sylvia growled, her voice a low hum in my mind. "But Kieran... he reeks of danger even when he plays protector."
"You’re finally awake."
I jumped in shock and fear when I heard that voice. When I looked at the couch, I saw Kieran sitting there, staring at his Rubik’s cube, his cedar and musk scent thick in the air. His devilish side replayed in my mind—how he shot that werewolf, his eyes showing nothing but rage and evil. I felt like he was a different person in that moment, as if the mask had finally been stripped away just because he saw me in that situation.
No hesitation. No mercy.
A killer’s eyes.
I pressed my lips together as he pulled himself up and walked toward me. I didn’t move, but I clenched the blanket tight, holding my breath.
"You’re afraid." His voice was rough, like gravel. "I can smell it."
He paused when he saw my face, took a deep sigh, and looked away. "I’m not gonna hurt you."
I swallowed hard. I knew. I wanted to tell him that I knew he wouldn’t hurt me, but I couldn’t get the words out. He had promised not to let anything bad happen to me, that he’d protect me. But if I pissed him off or angered him to that extent, would he shoot me too?
Just thinking about it made me tremble in fear. I was afraid of him before. My fear had slowly faded, but now it was coming back after seeing that side of him while protecting me.
I don’t know. I want to fully trust him, but I can’t.
Kieran looked at me again. "The pup’s fine. I had a professional doctor check on you."
Slowly, I nodded. I was lost for words. Nothing came to mind.
"I’m sorry..." he said again, almost in a whisper. "I’m sorry for letting that happen to you. It was my fault. I’m sorry."
I looked away. What he showed me changed how I saw him, and now he was making me fear him all over again.
"Kyra, please look at me—"
He tried to touch my hand, but reflexively, I pushed his hand away. His eyes widened with shock, and I was surprised too. I was grateful he kept his promise to protect me—he had done just that—but it didn’t make him any less terrifying for killing a werewolf right before my eyes.
His eyes reflected his pain, and even though I wanted to explain myself, I couldn’t bring myself to speak.
Kieran looked away and bit his lip, as if forcing himself not to say anything more.
"Kyra." He reached for my hand—
I flinched back.
His fingers curled into fists. "You think I’d turn on you? After swearing on my wolf to protect you?"
"You murdered a man in front of me!" The words tore from my lips. "What if one day I’m the one who pisses you off?"
Sylvia snarled in my head. "He’s pack. But even pack Alphas snap."
Kieran’s expression darkened. For a heartbeat, I swore his wolf, Ronan, flickered behind his eyes—carrying the same viciousness from last night.
He turned his back on me and walked away. He left without a word, and I was left on the bed, caressing my belly.
After a few seconds, someone knocked on the door and came in. I thought it was Kieran, but an omega entered, carrying a tray of food.
My lips parted as I watched her walk toward me and gently place the tray on the side table.
She bowed to me. "Alpha Kieran said you should eat, Miss Kyra."
Once again, I remained silent. The omega left, and I stared at the food, suddenly feeling hungry.

Kieran’s POV
Kyra hates me. She’s disgusted and scared of me. Fuck! I can’t blame her. She saw my most hateful side. She saw the devil in me. She saw the real me when I lost my temper and killed the werewolves who abducted her.
Fear. That’s her initial reaction. Of course! She would be afraid of me. Who wouldn’t?
"EMILY!" I shouted as soon as I entered the red room.
I saw her sitting on the bed, touching herself. The disgusting slut looked at me with lust when I walked into the red room. She was naked on the bed, pleasuring herself. Her heat-scent clogged my nose, cheap and desperate.
"Kieran!" She lunged at me, her lips trailing my neck. "Mmm, you smell like rage."
I clenched my jaw and pushed her toward the bed. "Pleasure yourself."
She giggled and spread her legs. "Gladly. Watching me turns you on, doesn’t it, Alpha?"
I gritted my teeth, watching her. She started moaning and massaging herself, staring straight into my eyes.
I walked to the cabinet and grabbed a vibrator. I threw it to her, and she caught it.
She smirked seductively while licking the vibrator. "What do you want me to do, daddy?"
I lifted my chin. "Fuck yourself with that toy."
She giggled again. "I bet you’d be even hornier if you saw this..."
My lips parted when she covered her face with a pillow that had Kyra’s face on it. My blood boiled, and lust took over me. I grabbed her neck and shoved the vibrator inside her before I thrust my length into her mouth.
Emily choked and moaned, the vibration making me groan.
I gritted my teeth, grabbing her hair and pushing her head back and forth, using her mouth for my pleasure.
Emily coughed and held onto my waist. She pushed my hips away, so I gave her time to breathe.
She laughed when I pulled out. She looked at me, drooling. "You are a fucking sadist. I wonder what Kyra, your stepsister, would say if she saw this dark side of yours."
Rage overwhelmed me. I grabbed her hair and slammed her mouth against me before shoving her back and grabbing her neck.
I looked at her, eyes dark. "You fucking bitch! Don’t say her name. You’d better keep your mouth shut if you still want to live."
With a pale face, she nodded. I let go of her, and she lay coughing on the bed. I thought she’d run away, but instead, she looked back at me with lust in her eyes.
She moaned again, and I frowned when I realized she’d climaxed while I was choking her. This fucking sex-addicted slut!
"Please, Kieran. My pussy wants your dick so much. Fuck me now!"
I grabbed a condom and put it on. I pushed her to the bed, parted her legs wide, and without warning, filled her to the brim.
I looked up at the ceiling as I started moving desperately. My eyes squeezed shut when Kyra’s face flashed in my mind.
Why do you hate me so much, Kyra? Why?
Only Emily’s whimpers answered.
