Yu Zhizhi was held in Yusen’s arms.
She lifted her little rabbit head and gently sniffed the fresh, ocean-wave scent on him. Her fluffy rabbit ears brushed against his chest. Yusen looked down, feeling how warm and soft the little rabbit in his arms was.
It was like holding a fluffy little puffball.
Louis’s gaze never left the little rabbit.
A faint smile played on his lips as he completely ignored Yusen’s "hostility."
With Yu Zhizhi present, Yusen didn’t speak aloud.
He mouthed the words silently—
"Stay away from her."
Louis was surrounded by a tainted Strength that could erode and burn anyone who got too close, if he wasn’t careful.
Although, so far, it seemed he was consciously controlling it.
But Yusen would never allow Yu Zhizhi to be harmed in any way, even if Louis himself was doing his utmost to suppress that Strength.
Deep within the young man’s jet-black pupils, a faint smile remained.
Seeing this, the Mermaid’s expression grew even colder.
Yu Zhizhi vaguely sensed that something was wrong with the atmosphere. Just as she was about to look up, Yusen’s hand covered her head.
Her ears and eyes were both covered.
Her exposed rabbit tail quivered slightly.
’Wh-what’s happening?’
Louis knew that Yusen had cast a small Spell.
The little female most likely couldn’t hear their current conversation.

The young man started walking toward the innermost part of the first floor. As he passed Yusen, he heard the youth’s voice—

Yusen slowly released his hand.
Yu Zhizhi blankly lifted her little rabbit head. Her body was too small right now; even if she strained as hard as she could, she couldn’t see the Mermaid’s eyes and could only stare at his chin.
A moment ago, it was as if her ears had been plunged undersea, everything muffled and unclear.
Now, suddenly, they were fine again.
The feeling of having water in her ears was gone.
Louis stopped. He knew Yusen had lifted the Spell, and a smile appeared on his face in the dim light.

Louis’s tone was gentle. "I like her."

Yusen carried the little rabbit and walked upstairs.
"Hm... I was testing him."
"Testing Louis? Why?"
"He’s dangerous."
"No, he’s not. Louis is very gentle."
Yusen carried her to the attic.
"I’m talking about the other him."

The little bunny looked confused, raising a small paw to scratch her ear. "So... what were the results of the test?"
Yusen’s tone was calm. "It was acceptable."
