Chapter 103: Chapter 103: "You’ve Developed Feelings.

Louis returned, dressed in a black overcoat. He held a paper bag printed with a sunflower, filled with freshly baked bread.

Faced with a group of soldiers surrounding him in the courtyard, and Luther standing before them, Louis raised a hand. "May I ask what crime I’ve committed?"

"A routine inspection. Please cooperate."

After Luther spoke, he glanced behind him. A middle-aged man in a Wizard’s robe emerged from the back.

A faint smile appeared on Louis’s face. "Cooperate? Of course, I’ll cooperate."

The Wizard walked up to him, the Dharma Seal in his hand glowing with a rich, deep purple light.

"Sir, please give me your hand."

The wooden cabin’s door opened, and Yu Zhizhi watched them nervously.

Hearing the sound, Louis looked up. The little female was looking at him, her mouth opening and closing as if she wanted to say something.

He smiled, signaling to her that everything was fine.

Louis knew this was all Luther’s own doing and had nothing to do with the little rabbit.

But seeing her worry about him put him in a very good mood.

Yu Zhizhi was very worried.

’What if they really detect a dangerous parasitic species in Louis? Will he be locked up in Paradise?’

Luther had mentioned before that all criminals of the Moon Rising Empire were thrown into the deepest part of Paradise.

Although the Louis with two green eyes was very dangerous, the Louis she knew had always been very good to her.

’I hope he won’t be affected by the parasitic species.’

The courtyard was filled with soldiers, each holding a cold spear aimed in the direction of the suspected dangerous species.

The Wizard began to meticulously inspect the young man’s body and soul.

The purple light from the Dharma Seal gradually turned white. The middle-aged Wizard looked astonished.

Luther spoke up, "How is it?"

The Wizard put away the Dharma Seal, his tone calm. "Officer Luther, his aura is pure, and his soul is untainted."

A smile appeared on the middle-aged man’s face. "There is no dangerous parasitic species."

Luther was stunned. "Are you sure?"

This concerned Ms. Zhi Zhi’s safety. Before they came, the captain had instructed them to be thorough, and then be even more thorough.

The Wizard nodded lightly. "I’m sure."

A smile spread across Luther’s face as he looked at Louis.

"It seems I was being overly suspicious. My apologies. Everything today was my own initiative. Ms. Zhi Zhi was not aware of it."

"I understand. It was all for the lady’s sake. There’s no need to apologize."

Louis’s tone was gentle.

"May I go in now?"

"Please—"

Luther dismissed his troops.

When they were selecting a Housekeeper for Ms. Zhi Zhi, the team had reviewed Louis’s file three times, and there were no issues.

It seemed Louis leaving the train that day was just a coincidence, not an attempt to evade inspection.

Before leaving, Luther said goodbye to Yu Zhizhi.

The massive contingent of soldiers trudged through the snow toward the command center.

Only three Beastman soldiers remained, staying in Luther’s cabin to monitor the Rabbit Clan Lady’s situation at all times.

Louis was back.

And—

He wasn’t infected!

A joyful expression appeared on Yu Zhizhi’s face. This meant Louis wasn’t a dangerous mutant species!

"It’s been a while, my lady." Seeing the brilliant smile on the little female’s face, a hint of warmth flickered in Louis’s dark eyes.

The scent of baked bread wafted from the paper bag in his arms.

"You’re back! Is this for me?"

Yu Zhizhi had only eaten a piece of apple that morning, and the smell of bread made her even hungrier.

Smiling, Louis picked up a piece of toasted bread spread with honey and held it to the little female’s lips.

Without a second thought, Yu Zhizhi opened her mouth and took a bite.

The soft bread, mingled with the sweet aroma of honey, was exquisitely delicious.

The scene of the two of them together was perfectly harmonious.

It was as if they had always been this way, and would continue to be so forever.

The Mermaid standing behind them had a dark expression.

As if sensing the gaze from behind her, Yu Zhizhi suddenly remembered that Yusen was still there.

Louis had been feeding her.

Now, Yu Zhizhi took the bread with both hands and turned to walk toward Yusen.

"Want some?" she asked.

Seeing that the little rabbit hadn’t forgotten him, Yusen’s expression softened slightly.

His chest felt tight; he had no appetite at all.

But when he saw Louis looking their way, an idea suddenly struck him. The Mermaid Youth spoke slowly, "Feed me."

Yu Zhizhi smiled, tore off a small piece of bread, raised her hand, and fed it to Yusen’s lips.

The Mermaid leaned down and bit into the bread.

As he ate, he licked the girl’s fingertips.

Yu Zhizhi froze. Just as she was about to pull back, he yanked her closer.

"This morning, you said you wanted a Mermaid Baby. Did you mean it?" Yusen asked, enunciating every single word.

Yu Zhizhi paused for a moment. "I meant it."

Having gotten the answer he wanted, Yusen looked toward the dark figure at the door, a triumphant smile on his face.

Behind them, Louis’s expression remained calm as he overheard their conversation.

Yusen leaned in and murmured beside her rabbit ear, "Then let me see just how much you mean it."

He saw a bewildered look on the little rabbit’s face.

Her rabbit ears trembled slightly, and a few breadcrumbs still clung to the corner of her mouth.

The youth wiped them away with the pad of his thumb.

Ignoring Louis at the door, he lowered his head and kissed her.

Yu Zhizhi raised a hand to cover his lips, a shy look in her watery eyes. "Someone’s here..."

’Louis is still here.’

Yusen just watched her quietly, his ice-blue eyes so clear that one could drown in them.

"But I want you right now."

The Mermaid’s hoarse voice was full of seduction.

Yu Zhizhi’s rabbit ears burned. She hesitated for a moment, then turned to Louis. "I’d like a colored-glass night light. Could you go buy one for me?"

Louis smiled slightly. "Of course."

He took two steps back and closed the door behind him.

Louis walked down the steps and out of the courtyard, his black boots making CRUNCH, CRUNCH sounds in the snow.

A cold wind blew past.

His left eye turned a deep, eerie green.

"You’ve fallen for her," the voice of "Louis" stated firmly.

The right eye remained black, a gentle smile lingering on his lips. "Yes, it’s true."

He didn’t deny it.

The left side of his face twisted into a vicious smile. "Then I’ll definitely kill her."

The black-eyed side was cold and deep. "You can try."

The green-eyed side roared with laughter. "Sooner or later, you’ll die with her! HAHAHAHA!"

’Louis.’

’Didn’t you want to experience life?’

’Why did you have to go and experience falling in love, too?’

’Now you have a fatal weakness.’

’You’re so dead.’

’So dead.’

’What are you even clinging to in this shabby little shack?’

’HAHAHAHA!’

The green-eyed side spoke smugly, "That damned little rabbit is completely infatuated with the Mermaid. She’s blind to you."

"Did you hear? She wants to have a Mermaid Baby for him!"
