Taking such a big step would make the leaders anxious.
However, if she didn’t open a new branch factory and instead just added the production line to her existing daily chemical factory, the leaders were willing to let her give it a try.
If she succeeded, the approval for a branch factory would be green-lit all the way!
Once Xie Changning understood, she spoke to her direct supervisor, Director Zhao. "And here I thought I wouldn’t get a response. It turns out the leaders had already figured out a backup plan for me. Thank you for going to all this trouble!"
When Xie Changning took a moment to reply, Director Zhao had thought she was upset about the rejection from the higher-ups.
He thought she was about to start stubbornly drafting new proposals.
He hadn’t expected Xie Changning to be so reasonable.

Director Zhao was overjoyed that Xie Changning agreed. "As for the sanitary napkin production line," he said, "the leadership has already tasked someone with making inquiries abroad. We’ll see if there’s any suitable machinery we can import directly."
Lin Province had the funds now. They just needed to file a report with the higher-ups, and the money would be approved immediately.
There wouldn’t be any hold-ups.
"Great, that’s great! I’ve been so busy with the expansion of the other factories that I haven’t had any time to research sanitary napkin production lines. The leadership has really done me a huge favor!"
"Yes. Our feeling is that the machinery from Japan is quite good. We’ll have someone go negotiate."
Sanitary napkins weren’t considered a vital product, so acquiring a production line wasn’t difficult for the leadership.
The leaders understood this, so they decided to handle it directly themselves.

"However, there’s something I’ll need you to do. We’ll need you to be present during the negotiations." Director Zhao was well aware of Xie Changning’s abilities. She was an incredibly skilled translator.
She was fluent in eight languages. When negotiating with Japan, the topic of price would inevitably come up.
There was a history of animosity between them, and it would gall them to let Japan profit too much from the deal.
Xie Changning agreed without a moment’s hesitation.
Since Xie Changning didn’t refuse, Director Zhao considered his mission as a liaison accomplished.

After hanging up with Xie Changning, Director Zhao contacted his own superior, Mr. Wang. He told him that Xie Changning had agreed to the plan and consented to handle the negotiations.
Mr. Wang was delighted to hear the news and lavished praise on Director Zhao for a job well done.

After hanging up, Xie Changning let out a long sigh and pulled an invitation from her drawer. In just twenty days, she would be flying abroad.
The thought of going abroad made Xie Changning’s brow furrow slightly.
’I need to bring something else back from this trip abroad.’

She had only just learned the news herself.
It was a surprise that Wang Daqiang already knew.
Wang Daqiang leaned in close to Xie Changning and whispered, "Director Zhao’s secretary just called, telling us to get things ready. They asked if we had an available workshop space, that’s how I found out."
