After saying goodbye to Gary and Todd, Ash’s group continued their journey toward Olivine City.
After traveling for over half a month, the group arrived at an unknown Lake.
During this half-month of travel, the group had experienced many things. During this time, Ash’s jealous Chikorita evolved into a Bayleef, but her habit of wanting to cuddle with Ash hadn’t changed, so Ash attached an Everstone to her, making her revert to her Chikorita form.
Just as Ash and the others were resting, Eevee, who couldn’t sleep, walked out of the house alone and sat by the Lake to enjoy the view. The next second, an object shaped like a drill horn emerged from the Lake.
Faced with this strange sight, Eevee didn’t think twice and quickly ran back to wake up the still-sleeping Pikachu.

He then shouted into the house, "Pika-pi, Pi-Pikachu!" (Ash, something terrible has happened!)
Before long, a sleepy-eyed Ash walked out of the house, yawning. He looked at Pikachu in confusion and asked, "Pikachu, what are you shouting about so early in the morning?"
"Pika-pi, Pika Pika Pikachu!" (Ash, look quickly, what is that!)
Pikachu pointed at the drill horn on the Lake surface and shouted.
"That? Isn’t that just a Rhydon’s horn? What’s so strange about that?"
Ash had not yet realized the severity of the problem.
Pikachu showed a helpless expression and then shouted, "Pika-pi, Pika Pikachu?" (Ash, it’s in the Lake, are you sure that’s not strange?)
"In the Lake?" Ash immediately snapped to attention. "Let me see what’s going on."
He directly activated his Aura to detect it, and then discovered that the thing was indeed a Rhydon.
He then remembered the Rhydon that could dive that idiot encountered in the original work. After comparing it with the surrounding scene, he found that it matched the scene in the original work perfectly. His sleepiness vanished instantly, but the Rhydon had already left his Aura detection range.
"Ash, you’re up so early! Are you going to train again?"
At this moment, Misty, having heard the commotion, also walked out.
"Let’s put training on hold for a moment. Pikachu and the others discovered an incredible Pokemon." Ash wanted to pack his things and prepare to capture this Rhydon.

"A Rhydon that can dive, and one that can stay under for ten or twenty minutes at a time!"

Listening to Ash’s words, Misty almost doubted if she was still dreaming.
Wasn’t Rhydon a Ground/Rock-type Pokemon that was afraid of water? How could it swim and dive?
"Brock, wake up!"
Ash couldn’t care less and directly woke Brock up.
Before long, the group packed their luggage and prepared to track the Rhydon.
At this moment, a young girl holding a Marill walked over.
