In Hoenn, the vast desert that had once been ruled by the Horned Desert King gradually turned into something far more ominous. What had once been dangerous territory became a true dead zone, a place so feared that even experienced trainers avoided it completely.

For the special Flygon, this created an unexpected problem.

Hunting humans had long since become one of his favorite pastimes, not out of necessity, but out of a twisted sense of enjoyment. With no trainers entering his territory anymore, that source of amusement began to disappear.

Fortunately, the solution was simple. Every so often, he would leave his domain and travel to other parts of the desert, areas that were considered relatively safe.

If he was lucky, he would encounter a human there.

So his favorite activity continued with only minor inconvenience.

Years passed, and then decades.

During that time, the special Flygon began to notice something subtle but undeniable. His growth had stopped. No matter how much he fought or trained, his strength no longer increased.

He had reached his limit.

The realization brought a trace of dissatisfaction, but it didn't trouble him deeply. After all, he had already surpassed every other Pokémon he had ever encountered. In his world, there was nothing left that could truly challenge him, and that alone was enough.

But time continued to move forward.

One day, something felt wrong.

At first, the change was so slight that he dismissed it as imagination, but as days turned into weeks, the feeling persisted and became harder to ignore. After a month of careful observation, he could no longer deny it.

He was getting weaker.

The realization came quickly. Only Pokémon nearing the end of their lifespan experienced such a decline, which meant he didn't have much time left.

What he couldn't understand was why this was happening to him.

As a Flygon, his lifespan should have been long, far longer than most Pokémon. Compared to others of his kind, he wasn't even particularly old, and many from his pack are much older than he is. Yet his strength was fading.

Not because of battle or injury, but because his life itself was ending.

Beside him, another Flygon—his mate—noticed the change in his demeanor. His usual confidence was gone, replaced by a tension that was both unfamiliar and unsettling.

"What's wrong?" she asked, her voice calm but filled with concern. "You look troubled."

He hesitated before answering. he said at first, though his tone lacked conviction. "No… I'm not worried,"

After a brief pause, he continued more honestly. "I've noticed something… I'm getting weaker every day. It looks like I'm going to die soon."

Her expression shifted immediately as she processed his words, concern clearly appearing on her face. She moved closer to him and tried to wrap her wings around him in a comforting gesture.

However, despite being large for her kind, she was still smaller than him and couldn't fully embrace his body.

After a moment of silence, she spoke again, her voice steady. "This probably has something to do with your gift. Mutations like yours don't come without a cost."

His expression darkened at once. he said, anger creeping into his voice. "Then I don't want it, What's the point of this strength if I die so quickly? I don't want to die."

She didn't react to his anger and maintained her calm demeanor. she replied quietly. "No one wants to die, But we all will. That's simply how life works."

That answer didn't comfort him and instead made his frustration grow.

He snapped."What kind of useless answer is that? Why are you so calm about this? I'm going to die soon, and you're just accepting it? Aren't you afraid of death?"

She looked at him, her expression soft but unwavering. she explained. "I remind myself of it every time I hunt, Every life I take reminds me that mine will end one day as well. So no, I don't see death as something especially terrible."

His frustration only deepened.

He replied sharply. "That's easy for you to say, It's not happening to you. You probably think I'm pathetic for clinging to life like this."

She was quiet for a brief moment before smiling gently. she said, her voice warm. "No, I think it's noble. No matter what happens, it's never pathetic to fight for your life with everything you have."

She stepped closer again and met his gaze directly. "There might still be a way," she added. "Don't hesitate and don't give up. If there's even the slightest chance to extend your life, then we should try to find it."

The Special Flygon remained silent for a moment as he thought about her words, and then a possible solution came to him almost immediately. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

He looked at his mate and said, "If anyone can do something about this… it's the humans, They've studied Pokémon for generations, built all kinds of strange tools, and understand things no wild Pokémon ever could. In those steel houses of theirs, there must be individuals who can help me. If anyone can help me, it's them. "

The more he thought about it, the more certain he became.

His voice had regained some of its usual certainty as he continued, "Prepare the pack and gather all the powerful Pokémon I've allowed to live in this desert. If any of them refuse to answer my call, I'll kill them."

The female Flygon looked at him calmly before replying, "I'll help you, but we have to be careful. Humans are not to be underestimated."

He showed a confident expression again as he answered, "Don't worry. I'm still invincible."

It didn't take long before the Special Flygon set his plan into motion.

In truth, calling it a plan was generous.

He had simply gathered every powerful Pokémon he had allowed to live within his domain and driven them forward like a tidal wave, forcing them toward the nearest human city.

Under his overwhelming presence, none dared resist. Those who hesitated quickly understood that defiance meant death.

The desert itself seemed to move as the mass of Pokémon advanced.

At first, everything unfolded exactly as he expected. The weaker defenses on the outskirts were overwhelmed, and the wave surged forward without slowing down. However, as they approached the city proper, the situation began to change.

The humans were ready.

Organized groups of powerfull trainers appeared, their Pokémon moving in coordinated formations. Powerful attacks rained down in unison, cutting through the wave with far greater efficiency than any wild resistance he had ever seen.

The advance slowed, Then it stalled.

From a far distance, the special Flygon watched as parts of his forced "army" were pushed back. Some Pokémon tried to flee, only to be redirected by others still under the pressure of the mass behind them. Others were defeated outright by precise and overwhelming attacks.

For the first time since the assault began, he frowned. He had expected resistance, but not this level of strength.

Without him, this "plan" would fail.

His eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the battlefield for a few more seconds, confirming his conclusion.

That was unacceptable.

Without another word, he turned to his mate. he said briefly. "You're in command,"

Before she could respond, his wings were already moving.

The air around him distorted as he accelerated, sand scattering violently beneath him. In an instant, he shot forward, leaving the desert behind as he flew directly toward the city.
