Chapter 1372 An “Honourable” Battle? Part 4

Indra and Shiva were still silent. However, it's very obvious that they were bothered by what Kisuke had just said with how their aura was flaring up.

It started with just two of them gathering support from all over the world and while they didn't agree to it initially, the support of the Etouldes and Evies proved to be indispensable. But before they knew it, the control of the conflict left their hands and although they still lead each faction, it feels like they are only there as a representative.

Shiva was not as bothered, but Indra really hated this and deliberately ignored this fact. He's ashamed to admit that he could only retain his leadership because Restoras told the Etoulde reinforcements to follow his lead.

And what is the main reason why their influence became indispensable? They are extremely wary of Ophis.

Ophis was the main reason why both Indra and Shiva had to get help and tried to eliminate Kisuke and his group from the equation. Although she's weakened right now for being divided, it still doesn't stop her from reaching her full capability when she needs to and the proof of that was when she repelled Regalzeva.

Even now, Indra and Shiva choose to stay still because they are sure that the reason why Kisuke is confident that they can take on both sides is because he has Ophis on his side. They didn't need to know what method Kisuke used to control the Infinite Dragon because what's important is that this being will move for him.

Of course, Kisuke was aware of this sort of thinking and even deliberately hid Ophis and Lilith's location so that they wouldn't do anything remotely outside of his expectations.

The battlefield continued to evolve and the four people continued staring at each other, still looking for openings and gauging what the others would do.

However, that stalemate was soon disrupted when all of a sudden, a heavy pressure came from above them and an instant later a scream of pain was heard all around. Everyone then saw something flash from the darkness of space and crashed to the Martian ground which made everyone stop what they were doing.

Silence prevailed as they somehow waited for the dust to settle down because of the aura that's coming off the item that had just fallen down.

But when they finally saw what it was, the Etouldes were horrified and regretted not instantly reacting. They all looked up and decided to abandon their opponents to fly up towards where the object came from.

Riveria immediately reacted and fully released her Soul Gear, "No you don't."

The Martian soil suddenly started shaking and cracking. From those cracks, hundreds of intersecting invisible walls, ceilings, and floors, creating numerous 'rooms', spanning a quarter of the whole Mars surface and going as high as ten miles.

Naturally, the Etouldes who wanted to go to where they heard the scream from didn't care about this barrier. While it's invisible, the Magic Power emanating from it is very defined and can be easily detected by basic Magic perception.

The first one to reach the barrier was Juna, the Shapeshifter. Putting both of her hands together, they melded and formed a sharp cone with black metallic shine on it. It was one of the most precious materials discovered in the universe capable of breaching most of the protective shells out there if used as a weapon.

However, as she propelled herself, she soon found herself facing the ground and crashed into it, "!?"

Soon, others who were rushing and trying to break through the invisible ceiling similarly faced the same problem. Their attacks or they themselves were transported to a different 'room' of the barrier.

It was then that they realized what this barrier did. While they are correct to initially assume that this is meant to trap them, it was not through stopping them with a physical boundary. Instead, the moment they go through the invisible walls, ceiling, and floor, they are warped to a different point in space within the barrier, essentially creating an 'infinite' maze.

The Etouldes panicked even further and tried everything they could do to escape from this maze. Sadly for them, even if they deployed any and all of the space-time warping techniques that they knew proved to be futile. It was as if they were within an entirely different dimension than the one outside the barrier.

Still, Etouldes and Evies alike, are all seasoned veterans and they immediately figured out the barrier's limitations.

First, it was impossible for such a complex barrier to operate continuously without being fed by an enormous amount of Magic Power, and the fact that after activating it, Riveria doesn't seem to be maintaining it points to the possibility that there's a core somewhere within the barrier that holds this spell together.

Second is that the warping feature of the barrier is static. Meaning, that the points of entry and exit of each 'room' created doesn't change so with enough time, someone will be able to map out the whole barrier and freely navigate it.

And finally, the third, members of Kisuke's group seems to have something with them that allows them to bypass the invisible walls since they were all able to gather together in the center without being impeded, allowing them to retreat from their enemies. This point actually helped Soifon immensely because she's being thrown around by her opponent that's several times faster than her.

If they could somehow figure out what it is that they have and take it for themselves, they'll be able to free themselves from the constraints of the barrier.

Divided by a wall, Kisuke grinned at both Indra and Shiva, "Too bad for both of you. If you didn't dilly-dally, you could have punched my face."

Kisuke then started floating and so did Sona, intending to leave the two furious Gods staring intensely at him, "Don't look at me like that. I just did what both of you wanted. A stage to showcase your dominance. In fact, I am so mindful of your wishes that everything in here is being broadcast to the whole world right now."

Both Indra and Shiva's eyes widened in shock and immediately started throwing attacks at Kisuke. Of course, they were all swallowed up by the invisible wall in front of them and reappeared somewhere else.

"Ohohoho~" Kisuke pulled out a paper fan and placed it in front of his mouth, "Well then, be good boys and entertain our audience~!" After leaving those final words to them, Kisuke disappeared along with Sona.

The fuming Gods were left without being able to sate their rage.

While the situation was similar to the Azazel Cup being broadcasted to the world, the 'arena' that Kisuke prepared for them was fundamentally different.

They were not participants of a contest but were forced to face each other.

This is not something as glorious as the Azazel Cup where they could prove themselves, but a cage that made captured beasts tear each other apart.

Their Divine War which was supposed to instill fear and awe throughout the lands was desecrated and reduced to a mere spectacle.

And because of that, whatever victory, defeat, or death that will come out of this won't ever be honorable.

These two couldn't accept that humiliation.
