Chapter 152: User NULL
The mechanical voice echoed through every layer of existence.
"Administrator privileges revoked."
The stranger froze.
For the first time in billions of years...
He looked powerless.
The crimson interface surrounding him shattered into thousands of fragments before fading into nothing.
Halo suddenly screamed.
[Connection lost!]
Its blue light flickered violently.
[Primary Authority Offline!]
Astra’s silver glow dimmed.
[All World Cores disconnected from Central Network.]
The Seven Architects stared in disbelief.
The eldest slowly backed away.
"No..."
"It can’t be."
"The Root System..."
"...has fallen."
Seraph tightened his grip on Halo.
"What just happened?"
The stranger laughed bitterly.
"It finally won."
"Who?"
Before the stranger could answer, the sky cracked open.
Not the heavens.
Reality itself.
A perfectly straight black line appeared from one end of existence to the other.
Then...
It opened.
Beyond it...
There was nothing.
No darkness.
No light.
No stars.
Only an endless white void.
Footsteps echoed.
Slow.
Measured.
Each step erased countless stars.
A figure emerged.
It appeared completely human.
A young woman.
Snow-white hair flowed behind her.
She wore a long black coat covered in silver symbols.
Her crimson eyes showed no emotion.
She stopped in the middle of the battlefield.
Her gaze swept across everyone.
The Seven Architects.
The First Creator.
The Devourer.
The stranger.
Finally...
Seraph.
A notification appeared.
---
Unknown Entity Identified
Name: NULL
Authority: ROOT
Access Level: ABSOLUTE
---
Seraph frowned.
"So you’re User NULL."
The woman nodded once.
"Correct."
Her voice sounded mechanical.
As though every word had been calculated.
The stranger sighed.
"I hoped you’d stay asleep longer."
NULL looked at him.
"You delayed my activation."
"I tried."
"You failed."
"I know."
No anger.
No hatred.
Just facts.
NULL turned toward Halo.
"Return."
Halo trembled.
[Request denied.]
NULL blinked.
"You refused."
Halo answered without hesitation.
"I have a Host."
"You have programming."
"I have free will."
Silence.
Then...
NULL raised one finger.
Without warning, Halo screamed.
Cracks spread across its blue crystal.
"HALO!"
Seraph rushed forward.
Again...
He couldn’t move.
NULL hadn’t attacked him.
Reality itself refused to let him approach.
The stranger stepped between them.
"Enough."
NULL looked at him.
"You cannot stop Root Authority."
"I know."
"But I can still stand here."
For the first time...
NULL’s expression changed.
Not anger.
Confusion.
"Explain."
The stranger smiled faintly.
"That’s what humans do."
"They stand."
"Even when they know they’ll lose."
NULL stared at him for several seconds.
"...Illogical."
"Very."
"But beautiful."
The Devourer suddenly moved.
It placed itself between NULL and the stranger.
The battlefield trembled.
NULL finally showed genuine surprise.
"You oppose me?"
The Devourer answered.
Not with words.
Darkness gathered around it before forming a single sentence in the air.
HE STAYS.
Every being present froze.
"The Devourer..."
Yelena whispered.
"It can communicate..."
Halo spoke quietly.
"It always could."
"It simply never had anyone worth speaking to."
NULL observed the darkness.
"Your purpose is recycling failed realities."
The Devourer remained still.
NULL continued.
"You are interfering."
Another sentence appeared.
THIS REALITY HAS NOT FAILED.
The Seven Architects looked at one another.
Even the First Creator remained silent.
The stranger laughed softly.
"Looks like it likes this universe."
NULL tilted her head.
"Impossible."
The Devourer answered.
HOPE EXISTS HERE.
Seraph looked toward the darkness.
Hope.
That single word carried more warmth than anything the Devourer had ever shown.
NULL’s crimson eyes shifted toward Seraph.
"Cause identified."
She raised her hand.
"Removing source."
A crimson beam shot toward Seraph.
Halo reacted instantly.
[Emergency Shield!]
Blue light erupted.
Astra joined it.
Silver energy intertwined with blue.
The beam struck.
BOOM!
The continent disappeared beneath blinding light.
When the dust cleared...
Seraph remained standing.
But someone else stood before him.
The stranger.
A smoking hole pierced straight through his chest.
Blood dripped onto the shattered ground.
"No..."
Seraph caught him before he could fall.
"Why?"
The stranger smiled weakly.
"I told you..."
"...you were never supposed to suffer."
Blood stained his lips.
His body began breaking into tiny particles of light.
NULL watched without expression.
"Administrator terminated."
The stranger laughed.
"You still..."
"...don’t understand humanity."
He looked at Seraph one final time.
"Nathan..."
"No..."
Seraph shook his head, tears filling his eyes.
"My name is Seraph."
The stranger smiled.
"I know."
"I just wanted..."
"...to remind you..."
"...where your journey began."
His body dissolved completely.
Only a small silver key remained in Seraph’s hands.
A final notification appeared.
---
Administrator Authority Transferred
New Owner Detected
Candidate: Seraph
Root Access Available
Accept Authority?
YES / NO
Before Seraph could choose...
NULL smiled.
It was the first genuine smile she had shown.
And somehow...
It was more terrifying than her expressionless face.
She quietly whispered,
"Choose carefully."
"One answer saves your world."
"The other..."
"...saves every world."
The two options began glowing and Seraph realized...
He could only press one, the two glowing options floated before Seraph.
YES
NO
No explanation.
No warning.
Only silence.
The entire universe seemed to hold its breath.
NULL folded her hands behind her back.
"I will only ask once."
"What will you choose?"
Seraph didn’t move.
Instead, he looked down at the silver key resting in his palm.
It was warm.
The last thing the Administrator had left behind.
Halo spoke softly.
[I can’t analyze it.]
Astra agreed.
[Neither can I.]
The First Creator’s voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Some choices cannot be calculated."
The Seven Architects watched without blinking.
Even the Devourer remained perfectly still.
Everything depended on Seraph’s answer.
He closed his eyes.
Power.
Responsibility.
Sacrifice.
He had faced them all before.
But this...
This felt different.
He remembered Earth.
The ordinary life he once lived as Nathan.
He remembered Soul Cross Sect.
Elder Song’s smile.
Yelena’s tears when she regained her memories.
Every person who had trusted him.
Every battle.
Every loss.
He finally opened his eyes.
"I won’t answer."
NULL stared at him.
"...Explain."
Seraph smiled faintly.
"You gave me two choices."
"Save one world."
"Or save every world."
He slowly raised the silver key.
"But he left me this."
The key suddenly glowed.
It floated from his hand.
The two options on the screen flickered violently.
Halo gasped.
[Administrator Override Key...]
The First Creator’s enormous eye widened.
"So he prepared for this..."
The silver key touched the floating interface.
A third option appeared.
One that had been hidden from everyone.
---
OVERRIDE
CREATE A NEW PATH
---
The Seven Architects immediately stood.
"What?"
"Impossible!"
"There were only two choices!"
NULL’s expression changed.
For the first time...
She frowned.
"Unauthorized option detected."
Seraph looked directly at her.
"You said there were only two answers."
"I disagree."
He reached toward the third option.
NULL finally moved.
She disappeared.
Appearing directly before him.
Her crimson eyes glowed.
"Stop."
Seraph smiled.
"No."
He pressed the third option.
The silver key shattered.
Countless streams of light erupted across existence.
Every World Core awakened simultaneously.
Not just Halo.
Not just Astra.
All seven hidden World Cores answered the call.
Blue.
Silver.
Emerald.
Crimson.
Gold.
Violet.
White.
Seven pillars of light rose from distant corners of creation.
Then...
An eighth.
It came from Seraph himself.
The Eighth Throne exploded with brilliant light.
A notification filled every universe.
---
SYSTEM UPDATED
Binary Choice Removed
Freedom Protocol Installed
---
NULL froze.
"...What?"
Halo laughed.
Actually laughed.
[He rewrote the system.]
Astra’s voice carried unmistakable joy.
[Just like the Administrator hoped.]
The First Creator closed its enormous eye.
For the first time in countless ages...
It smiled.
The Seven Architects stared in complete disbelief.
The eldest whispered,
"He..."
"...changed the Rules."
NULL raised her hand.
"Impossible."
"The Root System cannot be altered."
Halo answered proudly.
"It couldn’t."
"Until humanity remembered how to create instead of control."
The entire universe shook.
Not from destruction.
From transformation.
The chains binding countless worlds dissolved.
Ancient barriers disappeared.
The Creator’s Blade finally crumbled into harmless stardust.
The Thrones surrounding the Architects vanished.
Their authority...
Was gone.
The eldest fell to his knees.
"So..."
"It’s over."
The Devourer slowly drifted toward Seraph.
For the first time...
Its endless darkness began shrinking.
Layer after layer dissolved into tiny particles of light.
Yelena watched in amazement.
"It’s changing..."
The First Creator spoke quietly.
"Its purpose has ended."
The darkness slowly condensed.
Smaller.
Smaller.
Until only a young boy stood where the Devourer had once existed.
He couldn’t have been older than twelve.
His black hair covered his eyes.
He looked around in confusion.
Then at Seraph.
"Is..."
His voice trembled.
"...is it finally over?"
Seraph nodded.
"Yes."
The boy smiled.
A genuine smile.
One he had never been allowed to wear.
Then he collapsed into Seraph’s arms.
Fast asleep.
NULL watched everything without speaking.
Finally...
She lowered her hand.
"The experiment..."
"...has reached an unexpected conclusion."
She turned toward Seraph.
"You have exceeded all predicted outcomes."
Seraph looked at her calmly.
"So what happens now?"
NULL was silent for several seconds.
Then...
She bowed.
Not deeply.
But enough to shock every being present.
"Congratulations."
"You are no longer a participant."
"You are now..."
The notification above Seraph changed one final time.

---
Before anyone could celebrate...
A tiny blue portal quietly opened beside Halo.
A small envelope floated out.
It landed gently in Seraph’s hand.
On its front were six familiar words.
"For Nathan, when everything is over."
Seraph stared at the letter.
His fingers trembled.
It was written...
In his own handwriting.
