Chapter 104: Seaside Shopping

Naia smiled when she saw her bank account, already thinking of what to buy.

She was heading to a coastal city this time. She was sure she’d want to stock up on a lot of things then.

She and the police watched as the mother-and-daughter left without gaining anything. Still, despite them losing so much, their network was there so they might do something to Naia.

"We can apply a witness protection program."

This wasn’t just about her fighting for inheritance. The people behind Houser was not weak. They certainly wouldn’t take kindly to her. Even if they didn’t know she was the one who gave out clues, she’d definitely be suspected. For example, they’d assume Houser was careless or that she had snooped around on her own.

She shook her head. Having someone follow her around naturally couldn’t be done.

Her physique had already been improved and she had not been lax the past few weeks.

Most importantly, she had the space as a cheat device. She did not think she wouldn’t be able to handle what those two decided to throw at her.

However, unaware of her abilities, the officers were naturally concerned, especially when they found out that she was going around alone.

Luke immediately offered to escort her home, getting a few glances directed his way. Naia politely refused.

"Thank you, Officer," she said. "I will do a few errands. Don’t worry, I’ll do it elsewhere, and their claws can’t reach me everywhere."

"Well, if you say so."

Luke saw her off. "You must call when you encounter any danger," he said, solemn. "We cannot underestimate what cornered rats can do."

Luke started nagging and going on and on about what to watch out for. This upright, stoic man was saying so many things. Did he think he was her dad or something?

Naia knew this was for her own food, of course, so she cooperated and nodded repeatedly.

She was ’freed’ nearly an hour later and she hopped on to a bus station immediately, though it wasn’t one heading home.

She went down on the train station.

She smiled as she looked at the train map, stretching her arms.

Finally, to a coastal city~

First priority: Seafood!

...

Before coming to this timeline, Naia did not have a clear concept of seafood at all.

At best, she had seen images or video of the sea itself as shown in movies or documentaries, but the gloriousness of seafood itself did not quite park in her mind.

She considered herself an expert in hoarding now and she rented another warehouse in an industrial area, disabling the CCTVs.

The warehouse she rented this time was the largest one, the kind that could fit airplanes.

Sagao City was one of the country’s most active port cities servicing hundreds of ship movements every day. The number of containers being shifted around were in the tens of thousands. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

So, it was no surprise that the warehouses here were massive, and she took advantage of that.

This time, she focused on seafood products at first. She’d expand bit by bit to other things. A port city was a trove of treasures. She’d probably buy more stuff here than before.

Starting with seafood, she bought several kinds of fishes, shrimps, lobsters, crabs, shellfishes, and so on. She went to their market, chose some good stores, and bought tons.

She mixed them with living ones and not, with the latter going to her stasis space.

She already made use of Glen’s several high shelves and seeing them filled up satisfied the siblings who worked hard to make the shelves.

When Naia asked them for more, they obliged with more gusto than before.

As for the live ones were taken inside large aquariums, the type that people could fit in.

It was a seaside city so she could also customize these aquariums. She had them assembled inside the warehouse, and the designer was shocked to find out she wanted it inside and said a lot of caveats.

She also rushed to make it livable with its own ecosystem.

It was like a massive deep pool, but was closer to a mini marine ecosystem or an aquaculture system.

The more types of seafood she wanted to include, the more complex it could get to ensure everyone’s survival.

She didn’t just want different types of edible delicious fish, she wanted shrimps, octopus, squids, urchins, clams, and so on. She needed a massive one for this case.

She believed that her space would make up for the shortcomings in this side, but she did want to build the best she could while she still could.

The pool aquarium took about half the volume of the large warehouse, set up within the day after paying an extra million. The height was as high as it could be. In this case, it was more than three storeys high.

She even needed to add planktons, seaweed, and so on.

She found out that octopi could wipe out her ecosystem, so she asked for a different aquarium, though smaller, but could be connected to the big one so its food would still come from there, but they could control its consumption.

...she also decided to build another aquarium, dedicated to fresh water food.

This would not only give her a sustainable amount of seafood, it would also add to the net humidity in her space.

She also added water condensers to serve each one since there was no rain in space, but water still evaporated (though at a much slower rate than that outside).

She also added more water generators for their drinking water. She had one before but it wasn’t very big. Now that her space was large, had its own forests and ecosystems, Naia could increase the production of potable water.

Obviously, if she condensed water inside the space but consumed it outside, then the net water in the space would be reduced.

While her or her family’s water consumption was negligible, she was the type of person who needed her things to be increasing rather than decreasing.

The customized aquarium was very expensive, costing her tens of millions from the get go, including buying the machines like the filtration equipment.

However, she didn’t mind at all. She was already excited about the small fishes going around.

For sustainable seafood supply!
