Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Revelation
At her question, Jake paused.
His smile gradually faded as a complicated look flashed across his face.
He stared at the wooden ceiling of the cabin for a few seconds, searching for the right words.
Grace noticed the change immediately.
She stayed quiet, resting her head against his chest and waiting patiently, her fingers tracing soothing circles on his skin.
Finally, Jake let out a slow breath.
"...I’m not from this world, Grace," he said quietly.
Grace lifted her head slightly, her golden eyes widening in surprise, but she didn’t interrupt.
Jake continued, his voice low and a little distant.
"I came from a place called Earth, a completely different world. There was no classes, no aura, no sea beasts there... just normal people living normal lives. I had a family, a home, a father who trained hard every morning... and then one day, I simply woke up here."
He gave a small, wry smile.
"At first I thought it was a dream, or some kind of isekai story I used to read. But it’s been very real."
Jake looked down at Grace and gently brushed a strand of golden hair behind her ear.
"That’s why I sometimes get this strange feeling. Remembering my old life... it feels both far away and strangely close at the same time."
Grace listened with soft, understanding eyes.
Even though the revelation surprised her, it didn’t change how she saw him.
He was still her Jake... the man who had saved her and given her new hope.
She shifted closer, pressing her soft, warm body against him as if trying to share her warmth.
"I see..." she whispered. "So that’s why you sometimes say things I don’t understand..."
She reached up and gently cupped his cheek, her thumb stroking his skin tenderly.
"But even if you came from another world... I’m really glad you came here... To me."
Her golden eyes shimmered with sincere affection.
"No matter where you’re from, Jake... you’re my Captain. My man. That won’t ever change."
"Grace..."
A warm feeling spread through Jake’s chest.
He pulled her closer and kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, Grace."
They stayed wrapped in comfortable silence for a while.
Grace’s presence made the heavy weight in his heart feel noticeably lighter.
After a moment, she looked up at him again, her golden eyes full of gentle curiosity.
"...Can you tell me more about your old world?" she asked softly.
"What was it like? What did you do there?"
Jake smiled faintly and leaned back against the headboard, pulling her with him so she rested comfortably against his chest.
"It was... very different," he began.
"There were no monsters, no aura, and no classes. People lived in massive cities with towering buildings made of glass and steel."
"We had machines that could carry us anywhere like cars, trains, airplanes. And we could talk to someone on the other side of the world instantly with devices called phones."
Grace listened with wide, fascinated eyes, occasionally asking innocent questions.
"What about food? Did you have rice? What did people wear?"
Jake chuckled and continued, describing everyday things from Earth... movies, the internet, coffee shops, schools, and even his father’s morning workouts with dumbbells.
He kept the stories light-hearted, careful not to dwell on the loneliness he sometimes still felt.
And as he spoke, an idea suddenly sparked in his mind.
’Wait... knowledge from Earth.’
Jake’s eyes brightened.
Many things from his old world didn’t exist here... or at least not yet from his knowledge.
Simple concepts like better hygiene products, basic chemistry for soap or medicine, food preservation techniques, or even new forms of entertainment could be turned into profit.
’If I can introduce some useful things during this voyage... or sell the ideas to the right people...’
He looked down at Grace, who was still listening attentively with a soft, happy smile.
A determined grin slowly formed on his face.
"Grace," he said, his tone becoming more energetic, "I think I just found a way for us to earn some money."
Grace tilted her head cutely.
"Hm? How?"
Jake’s eyes sparkled with excitement as the idea took clearer shape.
"I was thinking... there are many things from my old world that don’t seem to exist here yet or at least not widely. Simple but useful things. For example, better ways to make soap that smells nice and cleans well, or preserved food that lasts longer on long voyages. Even small improvements in tools or entertainment could make money."
He gently played with a strand of her golden hair as he continued. "If I can make a few useful items or share some practical knowledge during this voyage, we might be able to sell them or get paid for the ideas. It won’t make us rich overnight, but it’s a solid start. Especially since we need gold for those class upgrades."
Grace listened carefully, her golden eyes sparkling with admiration
. "That sounds amazing, Jake," she said softly, a proud smile blooming on her face.
"You’re always thinking ahead. I’ll help however I can."
She nuzzled closer to his chest, her voice warm and supportive.
"Together, we can do it. No matter what it takes."
Jake smiled and hugged her tighter, feeling newly motivated.
"Yeah... together."
The peaceful atmosphere in the cabin continued as the two of them quietly discussed possible ideas.
Jake listed simple, practical concepts from Earth that could be adapted here, while Grace listened attentively and occasionally offered suggestions based on her knowledge of this world.
For the first time in a while, the future felt a little less uncertain.

By the end of their conversation, Jake leaned back against the headboard with a thoughtful sigh.
"Most of these ideas are solid... but they’ll need some initial investment like materials, tools, maybe even a small workshop space," he said.
"But we don’t have enough gold for that right now."
He paused, then a determined glint appeared in his eyes.
"So the best approach is to sell the ideas first. We don’t have to make everything ourselves. We can offer the concepts, improvements, or simple recipes to someone who already has the resources."
Grace tilted her head curiously. "Who do you have in mind?"
Jake smiled faintly.
"Vivian’s Caravan. They’re clearly one of the richest groups on this ship... maybe the richest. They have money, connections, and the means to turn ideas into profit quickly. If I can pitch a few practical things that can boost their trade business, they should be very interested."
He gently stroked Grace’s back as he continued.
"Plus, they already know us a little. It’s probably the smartest and safest way to start earning gold without taking too many risks ourselves."
Grace’s golden eyes lit up with understanding.
She nodded firmly, looking proud of him.
"That makes sense. You’re really smart, Jake," she said softly, hugging him tighter.
"I’ll support you no matter what. If you want to talk to them, I’ll come with you."
Jake chuckled and kissed the top of her head.
"Thanks. We’ll prepare a bit first and then approach them when the timing feels right."
The two of them stayed wrapped in each other’s warmth.
The gentle rocking of the ship and the soft glow of the lantern created a peaceful cocoon around their budding plans for the future.
By the time they finished refining a few solid ideas for the pitch to Vivian’s Caravan, night had fully fallen.

The lantern cast a warm, golden light over the cabin as the ship rocked soothingly on the waves.
Jake leaned back comfortably against the headboard, one arm wrapped around Grace, who was curled up against his chest.
Their conversation had gradually drifted away from business.
Grace’s fingers traced lazy patterns across his chest as she looked up at him.
Her golden eyes had grown softer, warmer, and heavier with desire.
"Jake..." she whispered, her voice turning slightly husky.
The atmosphere in the small cabin shifted instantly.
The way she looked at him... needy, affectionate, and full of quiet longing sent heat rushing through Jake’s body.
He could feel her soft, massive breasts pressing warmly against him through the thin fabric of her shirt, and the restless movement of her thighs.
He smirked, sliding his hand down her back until it rested on her plump ass.
He gave it a firm, possessive squeeze.
"Looks like someone got distracted again," he teased, his voice low and rough.
Grace’s cheeks flushed a deep pink, but she didn’t deny it.
Instead, she bit her lower lip and shifted until she was straddling his lap, her golden hair cascading around her shoulder like a silky curtain.
"I can’t help it..." she murmured, leaning in to kiss his neck.
"When I’m this close to you... I just want you so much."
Her hips rolled slowly against him, pressing down on his growing hardness.
Jake groaned softly, his hands slipping under her shirt to cup her heavy breasts.
His thumbs brushed over her already stiff nipples, drawing a shiver from her.
"Then don’t hold back," he whispered against her ear, voice thick with desire.
"I want you too."
Grace let out a soft, needy moan, her golden eye turning misty.
Then she pulled her shirt over her head in one smooth motion, revealing her voluptuous body.
She leaned down and kissed him deeply, her tongue eagerly seeking his as their bodies pressed together, skin against skin.
Then clothes were quickly discarded and the night grew hotter.
