Wild Griffin Horses are extremely aggressive. When awakened, a Griffin Horse enters a state of wild fury, only tearing apart an enemy’s body can calm its rage. This is why a Griffin Horse will slaughter an entire Beast Herd, killing every beast it sees. Griffin Horses’ desire for fresh flesh is so strong, surrounding creatures can sense their terrifying hunger. Survivors of a Griffin Horse attack often keep a close watch on the skies for years after."
They possess a heartless territorial sense, fighting to the death with any creature that mistakenly enters their chosen territory, whether it be a lost farmer, a dwarf, or a wandering dragon—thus, it’s not surprising they tend to stay clear of each other. They compete with Flying Horses for nesting spaces, but wisely avoid the territory of Giant Eagles. When two Griffin Horses meet, they are likely to fight, typically a violent and bloody battle until one or both animals are dead. It is certain that none will voluntarily retreat or flee."
Griffin Horses are the preferred choice for Mages testing Taming Spells. After all, once it flies into an enemy crowd, what’s the harm if the Taming Spell fails?"
Griffin Horses are equally favored by Knights for mounts, as they want a creature more ferocious than the mild Flying Horse, though only a few Knights have truly used them as mounts. Only the most determined humans can ride these beasts, as Griffin Horses are strong-willed and irritable, if the rider slackens the reins even slightly, it will throw him off the saddle."
Dwarves, packed densely, are naturally not adept at riding Advanced Mounts, though sometimes they ride goats, Griffin Horses are certainly not their choice."
