Chapter 221: Chapter 191: This is My Lion Hunter Knight
Under the enhancement of the Snow Concealment Technique, the High Cliff Castle Warriors brazenly bypassed the enemy’s main force. Like a slanted arrowhead, they drove straight for the enemy’s Casting Corps, stopping about a hundred paces away from them.
Even without a spyglass, Levi could clearly see the shreds of meat stuck in the Ogres’ teeth.
They were in a wedge formation. The Ogres at the front held up Covered Wooden Shields to prevent the enemy’s Elf Warriors—who were practically Divine Archers—from threatening their Zor Priests.
As for the Zor Priests, after three rounds of casting with no regard for the cost, their Magic Power was completely drained. They were now meditating with their eyes closed, recovering their strength for the next bombardment.
Levi turned his head and grinned at the High Cliff Castle Warriors, revealing two neat rows of white teeth.
Snow began to drift down from the sky, at first just a sparse flurry. The world was a desolate, silent expanse of blood and white.
"Fucking finally. It’s our time to shine."
Levi drew two outrageously designed Two-Handed Greatswords from his back.
Each greatsword was immense, weighing over a hundred pounds. An ordinary person would struggle to lift one even with both hands, but the Lord held one in each, as lightly as if they were embroidery needles.
Paired with his Bright Black Plate Armor and flowing White Cloak, he had the perfect bearing of a Holy Hall Knight.
After the last few large-scale brawls, he had come to fully understand the extent of his power, now doubled by his Firefly rank.
Thus, he was no longer satisfied with the killing efficiency of a single sword. Two greatswords meant twice the fun.
A battlefield isn’t an arena; wide, powerful swings are far more practical than deft techniques.
If he were to use such a heavy sword in an arena, the self-proclaimed Swordsmanship Masters would surely mock him as a Barbarian with no knowledge of true Swordsmanship.
However, for all their verbal disdain, their bodies were far more honest. No matter what, they would never actually cross swords with such a so-called "Barbarian."
Because reality made one thing clear: anyone who could wield a sword of that weight was an absolute monster.
Swordsmanship could only bridge a small gap in ability; it could never allow a commoner, however skilled with a blade, to defeat a Combat Qi Knight in a direct confrontation.
The Beastman Warriors formed up in a battle line behind him.
They were as silent as ingots of well-forged iron, ready to be plunged into the crucible.
The Feder Warriors gripped their Purple Robe Longbows, excellent Archers who were destined to make a name for themselves in this raid.
Levi charged at the forefront, Two-Handed Greatswords in hand, with the silent High Cliff Castle Warriors following close behind him.
The distance between the two forces was barely a hundred paces. At a full charge, they would clash in a matter of a few dozen heartbeats.
As they drew closer, the enemy Zor Priests began to realize something was wrong. As veteran Casters, they could clearly sense the shift in the surrounding Magic Power.
This feeling could only mean one thing: someone was using Magic to approach them.
They immediately began shouting at the surrounding Ogres. Though the hot-tempered brutes were unhappy taking commands from the Zor Elves, they still turned at once to face the new threat.
This at least prevented them from being completely blindsided by a rear attack.
A gray halo flew from the rear and settled upon the front ranks of the Beastman Guard Team. They felt their movements instantly grow stiff, no longer as fluid as silk.
This was the Stone Skin Technique, cast by Sam, a Shaman with just a couple of tricks up his sleeve.
In truth, Masha also knew defensive Blessing Spells, but such group-wide enchantments often had a major drawback.
Namely, the more people they were cast on, the weaker the effect on each individual.
From the Lord’s perspective, it was a complete waste of Magic Power.
The Barbarians were already wearing Three-Layered Heavy Armor. If an attack was strong enough to get through that, a diluted Blessing Spell that spread its power so thin would have a negligible effect at best.
It was far better to save that Magic Power to land a decisive blow on the enemy at a critical moment.
Though shocked that this squad had managed to sneak up behind them, the Ogres and Zor Priests didn’t seem to care. A cold light gleamed in their eyes, as if they were watching moths fly into a fire that could burn an entire prairie.
Undeniably, this small, fully-armed squad was an elite force. However, they had one fatal flaw.
Their numbers.
A single glance was enough to tell that there were no more than three hundred of them.
Compared to the tens of thousands in the Wilderness Alliance Army—a force so large you couldn’t see its end—they were less than a rounding error. The Alliance Army could drown them in spit alone; they were nothing to worry about.
There was, however, one exception.
That exception was Leiden. Right now, he looked as if he’d seen a ghost, his face a mask of horror. Only he knew just how terrifying this troop, fighting under the banner of the sun and mountain, truly was.
They had completely wiped out three to four hundred Berserk Milotheus. The crucial part was that they had suffered barely any losses in the process.
And now, somehow, they had managed to sneak all the way here without anyone noticing.
He desperately wanted to rush to the front and tell the commanders watching the battle, but two Pigman guards blocked his path. They bared mouthfuls of stinking yellow teeth, their faces full of derision.
"Sorry, Goblins and Kobolds can’t go any further."
The commotion caught Eliya’s attention. She glanced over for a moment before turning away, her interest already lost.
’Just a Giant Goblin,’ she thought. ’He might know a thing or two about military matters, but that’s the extent of it. Not worth my energy.’
