Chapter 674: Daisy’s Suspicion

Daisy, still lying on the medical bed in the White House’s advanced medical wing, suddenly spoke up from the side. "I am also fine... literally," she said, her voice surprisingly strong.

She touched her bandaged stomach lightly and frowned in confusion. "I don’t even feel like I got hurt. If there wasn’t a bandage here, I’d think it was all a bad dream."

The lead doctor, a middle-aged woman with sharp eyes and a white coat, shook her head firmly. "Agent Daisy, even if you’re feeling better, we still need to run a full check-up. We saw the initial reports—significant blood loss and a deep laceration. Protocol requires scans and monitoring."

Daisy nodded reluctantly, though she still looked puzzled. "Alright... but I need to go to the washroom first. Excuse me."

With that, Daisy slipped off the bed and walked toward the private bathroom attached to the luxurious medical suite. She moved with surprising ease for someone who had been gravely injured just hours earlier.

Meanwhile, Madeline was taken to an adjacent examination room for additional tests. The medical team wanted to check for any possible infections from her cuts and scrapes, administer relaxation medicine, and have a psychiatrist speak with her to help process the severe trauma she had endured.

Madeline glanced back at me before leaving, her eyes still filled with quiet gratitude. "I’ll be okay... I think," she whispered. "Come see me after?"

I nodded reassuringly and stayed in the main area, waiting.

A few minutes later, Daisy emerged from the bathroom. The moment she stepped out, her expression had completely changed. Her eyes were wide with shock and awe as they locked onto me.

The professional mask she usually wore had cracked, replaced by pure disbelief. The doctor noticed immediately and gestured toward the scanning equipment.

"Miss Daisy... please come this way for the check-up," the doctor called, motioning for her to follow.

But Daisy completely ignored her. She dodged the medical staff with surprising agility and walked straight toward me. Without a word, she grabbed my hand firmly, her grip surprisingly strong.

"Come with me," she said urgently, her voice low but intense. "I need to ask you something."

Before I could respond, Daisy pulled me along with her, walking briskly back toward the restroom area. She pushed me inside the spacious, marble-tiled bathroom, followed me in, and quickly locked the door behind us with a soft click. The sound echoed in the quiet, luxurious space.

Daisy didn’t waste any time. She lifted the hem of her shirt with both hands, exposing her stomach completely.

The bandage I had applied earlier in the motel was gone—completely removed. Her skin was smooth, unmarked except for a very faint, almost invisible pink line where the deep, jagged glass wound had been. There was no swelling, no bruising, no sign of the serious injury she had suffered.

She stared at me, her breathing slightly quickened, eyes filled with a mixture of shock, confusion, and awe. "Can you tell me what’s going on?" she demanded, her voice barely above a whisper but laced with intensity.

"This... this isn’t normal. I should be in agony right now. I felt like I was dying in that motel. And now? Nothing. Not even tenderness. The wound is just... gone."

Daisy stepped even closer in the locked bathroom, still holding the hem of her shirt up with both hands, completely exposing her smooth, unblemished stomach. Her eyes searched my face intensely, looking for any flicker of truth. "I know you did something more than just basic first aid back there," she said, her voice low but firm. "The way you held the wound... how fast I recovered... Tell me the truth, Dexter. What did you do to me?"

I kept my expression carefully neutral, though my mind raced. Before I could respond, Daisy continued, her tone softening slightly with lingering disbelief.

"When I just went to the bathroom... I accidentally touched my bandage, but I found it didn’t hurt at all. So I tried to remove it... and found that the wound was completely gone. Not even a scar, Dexter. Just smooth skin."

I pretended to be utterly shocked, widening my eyes in exaggerated surprise. "OMG! How is this possible... how could that wound just vanish?" I reached out and gently touched her stomach with my fingertips, pretending to search for any trace of the injury.

My hand lingered on the warm, soft skin where the deep gash had been, tracing lightly over the area as if I couldn’t believe it. I let out an astonished voice, shaking my head slowly. "It’s... kind of a miracle..."

Daisy watched my every move carefully. After a long moment, she crossed her arms and pulled her shirt back down, covering herself once more. She stared at me with a knowing look, her head slightly tilted, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips.

"I know it’s you," she said quietly, her voice steady and confident. "It’s fine if you don’t want to tell me. I just want to thank you... for saving me."

With that, Daisy stepped forward and hugged me tightly. She wrapped her arms around my waist and pressed her body firmly against mine. Her full, soft breasts smashed warmly against my chest through her thin shirt, the intimate contact sending a rush of heat through both of us.

She held the hug for several long seconds, her face buried against my shoulder, breathing in deeply as if releasing all the fear she had carried earlier. I could feel the steady beat of her heart against me.

"Thank you, Dexter," she whispered into my ear, her voice full of genuine emotion. "Whatever you did... it saved my life."

Daisy then pulled back slightly, still in my arms, and smiled at me warmly. A rare, soft smile that reached her eyes. "Your secret is safe with me..."

I continued the act, keeping my face blank and confused. "I don’t understand what you are talking about..."

I let out another astonished voice, stepping back slightly and raising my hands. "Don’t tell me... You think I did it? That’s crazy..."

Daisy just smiled wider, clearly not buying my denial for a second, but choosing not to push any further. There was respect and affection in her gaze now. She gave my hand one final gentle squeeze before unlocking the bathroom door.

She opened it quietly and walked away without another word, her steps confident and steady as she headed back toward the medical team waiting outside.

As she left, she glanced back over her shoulder one last time, that knowing smile still on her lips, before disappearing around the corner.
