Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Celestial Pool Snow Lotus
Inside the auction house, the lights flickered.
Chen Qingdi sat in his seat, his expression confident and serene, his gaze fixed on the Celestial Pool Snow Lotus displayed on the auction stage.
He wore a luxurious suit and exuded an aura befitting a king.
Standing in the center of the room, Lin Yi met Chen Qingdi’s gaze. His brow was slightly furrowed, and his eyes revealed a keen interest.
He wore a simple yet refined suit, carrying himself with an air of unhurried confidence.
Chen Qingdi smiled faintly. Noticing Lin Yi’s interest, he decided he would contend for the Celestial Pool Snow Lotus.
He tapped his palm lightly, signaling his staff to prepare a bid.
In response, Lin Yi immediately shouted out a price, his voice full of confidence.
"Thirty-five million!"
Not to be outdone, Chen Qingdi raised the price without hesitation, adding one million each time.
The bidding war between them escalated, filling the auction hall with a tense and fierce atmosphere.
When Chen Qingdi’s bid reached sixty million, he suddenly stopped, his eyes gleaming with victory.
He shot Lin Yi a meaningful look, as if conveying a silent message.
Lin Yi froze, his face flushing slightly.
He felt insulted but could find no reason to retort.
And so, he had no choice but to angrily withdraw from the bidding.
He knew his funds were no match for Chen Qingdi’s, and continuing would only lead to further embarrassment.
Chen Qingdi watched Lin Yi leave with a smile, then contentedly looked away.
He had successfully acquired the Celestial Pool Snow Lotus, a crucial step in his plan to refine the Ice Heart Pill.
Lin Yi remained in the auction hall, fuming, his expression dark.
He furiously made a call, ordering his men to come over.
He was determined to teach Chen Qingdi a lesson and vent his bitter hatred.
The scene at the auction grew tense; everyone could feel the oppressive atmosphere.
Chen Qingdi, however, was completely oblivious, continuing to bid on medicinal herbs with perfect composure.
Soon, the auction ended. Chen Qingdi went backstage to settle the payment, then walked out with Xu Menghan.
Their faces were beaming with satisfaction.
After all, Chen Qingdi had made quite a haul this time!
However, just as Chen Qingdi was preparing to leave, his path was blocked by Lin Yi and Ji Wudao, who had brought a group of men with them.
Lin Yi’s gaze was icy and his expression resolute. His men followed closely behind him, looking guarded.
Chen Qingdi frowned slightly, his face a mask of indifference.
He glanced at Xu Menghan, and the two of them stopped in unspoken agreement, ready to deal with this sudden turn of events.
Lin Yi stared coldly at Chen Qingdi, his tone laced with mockery. "Chen Qingdi, you think you can be so smug without any consequences? Today, I’m going to make you understand that some people are not to be trifled with!"
Chen Qingdi’s brow furrowed, his expression turning solemn.
He could feel the threat emanating from Lin Yi, but he remained composed, betraying no hint of alarm.
"Today, I’m going to show you the price you pay for offending me, Lin Yi!"
Lin Yi declared to Chen Qingdi with blatant arrogance.
At that moment, however, Chen Qingdi just sneered. He stood tall and straight, his face cold, radiating an inviolable majesty. A flicker of disdain glinted in his eyes.
Just as he was about to make a move, the mob boss, Master Hu, who had just finished his own purchases, happened to spot him.
The moment he saw him, Master Hu froze, his eyes filling with awe.
Ji Wudao and Lin Yi, by contrast, looked utterly foolish. They seemed to have no idea what kind of terrifying existence they were confronting!
Chen Qingdi smiled faintly and walked unhurriedly toward Ji Wudao and Lin Yi, each step radiating an irresistible authority.
As he approached, Master Hu scrambled back several steps, unconcealable fear in his eyes.
Without saying a word, Chen Qingdi simply stared at them coldly, as if declaring his supreme status.
His demeanor was crisp and decisive, without a hint of hesitation, as if he had long since seen through this kind of situation.
Ji Wudao and Lin Yi felt the aura of a powerful expert radiating from Chen Qingdi, and their bodies began to tremble involuntarily.
They could not have known that Chen Qingdi’s true identity was that of the king of the criminal underworld—the King of Satan!
The underworld figures under his command were enough to shake Jinghai City to its core!
Then, Master Hu strode quickly toward Chen Qingdi, his expression full of reverence.
Chen Qingdi maintained his cold expression, showing little reaction to Master Hu’s approach.
Mistakenly assuming Master Hu was there to help them, Ji Wudao eagerly began to grovel.
"Master Hu, what brings you here?"
"Are you here to help me and Young Master Lin?"
"Honestly, we don’t need a big shot like you to deal with this guy. Young Master Lin and I could handle him easily—"
Before he could finish, Master Hu slapped Ji Wudao hard across the face, his voice sharp as he berated him.
"Are you fucking blind?! Do you have any idea who Mr. Chen is? He is the most revered figure in our entire underworld!"
"If Mr. Chen comes to any harm, all of us will pay the price—"
Ji Wudao was completely dumbfounded. ’Just who is Chen Qingdi?’ he wondered in disbelief.
He pressed Master Hu for answers, refusing to believe Chen Qingdi could have any special status.
However, Master Hu ignored his questions completely. He simply ordered his men to position themselves in front of Chen Qingdi, protecting him.
Master Hu himself dropped to one knee, offering Chen Qingdi his highest respect. "We greet the King of Satan!"
Chen Qingdi watched Master Hu’s actions impassively, as if this display of allegiance was entirely expected.
He accepted Master Hu’s homage with an air of pride, as if it were only natural.
An indescribable terror washed over Ji Wudao. He was beginning to realize that Chen Qingdi’s identity was likely far more terrifying than he had ever imagined.
As the underworld’s King of Satan, Chen Qingdi wielded power and authority beyond their wildest imaginations!
In Chen Qingdi’s eyes, they were nothing more than two ants, no matter how much they struggled.
Chen Qingdi wouldn’t even deign to look at them directly. After all, if an ant were crawling on you, would you consider it an opponent?
It’s something you would just swat dead.
They weren’t worthy of Chen Qingdi’s serious attention. Only a truly powerful opponent would earn that.
As Master Hu knelt before Chen Qingdi, Ji Wudao stood to the side, his eyes wide with terror.
When he heard Master Hu address Chen Qingdi as the "King of Satan," he was so terrified he felt his insides turn to ice.
He couldn’t believe his ears, struggling to accept that Chen Qingdi was actually the supreme ruler of the criminal underworld.
"Impossible!"
"Chen Qingdi... how could he possibly be the King of Satan!"
Ji Wudao yelled, his face a mask of disbelief.
’Master Hu must be messing with me,’ he thought. ’This is utterly absurd.’
