Chapter 802: Chapter 801 Team Up_1
"Fire Roaming Scissors!"
The man calling for Shi Xiaole’s help was named Sun Wei, whose cultivation had reached the sixth tier of the Divine Barrier Realm. In his hands, the giant Crocodile Scissors erupted in clusters of flames, snapping shut and continuously assaulting the towering Yellow-haired Monster.
"Mystery Light Thunder!"
"Golden Killing Radiance!"
The other five, including Shi Xiaole, seeing the momentum of the towering Yellow-haired Monster hindered, quickly launched their attacks, their Vigorous Air rushing like the Milky Way, violently striking its wounds.
Ssshhh...
The monster’s fresh yellow blood, like pus, splattered with a stench, corroding the ground and walls, creating numerous holes. Two of the Earth Immortals were too slow to retreat. Their protective Vigorous Air was pierced, but luckily their bodies were unharmed.
Badly injured, the towering Yellow-haired Monster grew even more berserk. Everyone hastily dodged with their Flying Skill, drawing cold gasps at times. After repeated exhausting efforts, the Yellow-haired Monster finally succumbed, collapsing to the ground, dead.
"What a troublesome creature,"
sighed a beautiful woman as she involuntarily took the opportunity to size up Shi Xiaole.
The love of beauty is something everyone possesses.
This applies even to Terrestrial Immortals, especially someone like Xu Fang, a female Earth Immortal with exceptional talent and formidable strength, born into a top-tier force. Ordinary men can’t catch her eye; it takes an outstanding and extraordinary man who possesses both inner and outer qualities.
In Xu Fang’s eyes, Shi Xiaole undoubtedly had these traits.
Of course, her curiosity was piqued even more. She speculated that, just like her, Shi Xiaole must have gotten separated from his sect companions after obtaining the Seven-Star Lamp.
Unconcerned with the gazes of others, Shi Xiaole’s focus was fixed on three other battlefields.
Sensing victory was at hand, the handsome and graceful young man offered a faint smile. The purple fan in his hand unfurled, casting a succession of fan shadows.
Bang bang bang...
The fan shadows seemed endless. In a single breath, he managed to strike five hundred consecutive times, creating a round hole six inches in diameter straight through the chest of the towering Yellow-haired Monster. The edges of the hole frayed as the energy continued to pulse, ultimately dissolving the creature.
"So powerful!"
Everyone, including Sun Wei, was astonished.
They were aware that this young man named Su Yichen was unfathomably strong, but this was beyond expectation. That attack had definitely reached the pinnacle of the Seventh Tier, apparently, he had been toying with them all along.
"Please don’t misunderstand my fellow cultivators. My killing move requires building up momentum as just seen; it’s not a matter of holding back to mock you," said Su Yichen, his face as fine as jade, his aura indescribable, compelling people to believe his words.
"Young Hero Su, you are too modest. Without you, how could any of us be standing here?"
Regardless of whether he was lying, everyone agreed, at least superficially, not wishing to give him any embarrassment.
A few female Earth Immortals gazed at the smiling and tender Su Yichen, their eyes gleaming with admiration. Powerful men always led women to fanciful thoughts, and if the man was also highly attractive, he was almost irresistible.
"Hmph!"
Not to be outdone by Su Yichen, the girl in white abruptly retreated before charging forward again, her body forming two overlapping white lightning bolts in midair, swirling forward like a baton. At both ends of the arc, her twin rulers lit up, surrounding the towering Yellow-haired Monster in the center.
Hiss hiss...
In an instant, the towering Yellow-haired Monster turned into a puddle.
"What a peculiar martial art,"
Shi Xiaole couldn’t help but express his surprise.
The martial art of the girl in white was similar to the Way of Light, but with a lethality the Way of Light lacked, as if combining light with heat.
Shi Xiaole was certain that, among those with the same realm, this girl was undoubtedly among the most difficult to deal with.
Feeling his gaze, the girl in white turned and gave Shi Xiaole a small, somewhat proud, somewhat modest smile.
Only one person was left, the middle-aged man in yellow. His eyes turned cold as he rapidly vibrated his long sword, the tremendous force accumulating until it erupted from the tip.
Boom!
The last towering Yellow-haired Monster exploded into seventeen pieces.
If Su Yichen and Bai Ruiting didn’t demonstrate their unique skills, Huang Tao would have naturally drawn the fight out since it was better to withhold cards when you are unfamiliar with the others, as an extra card meant extra security.
But now, there was no point in continuing the pretense, which might even reveal more to the other two, making the loss outweigh the gains.
As he sheathed his sword, Huang Tao paused before suggesting with a smile, "Everyone, it’s extremely unsafe here. If anyone wants to withdraw, it’s wise to leave early. For those who choose to stay, I suggest we work together. It could reduce the risk of death or injury as much as possible."
Though he said this, his gaze was particularly fixed on Su Yichen and Bai Ruiting.
In Huang Tao’s view, only these two were barely qualified to be on par with him and would be of the greatest use. The others were fine under normal circumstances, but in the face of a strong enemy, they would just be a hindrance.
"Indeed, joining forces is the best strategy,"
agreed Sun Wei, signaling his reluctance to leave.
If he had been afraid, he wouldn’t have entered in the first place. There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world, and to gain opportunities one must take risks—it’s only fair.
Moreover, should he truly encounter irresistible danger, he could always flee then. He wasn’t without a trump card.
The remaining few also chose not to leave.
None of those present hadn’t faced life-and-death battles. Unless it was a situation with absolutely no chance of survival, they couldn’t bring themselves to retreat because of unknown dangers.
As for being used by Huang Tao and the others, they weren’t naive like the Yellow-haired Monsters, and besides, standing together, didn’t they also form another group to counter them?
Su Yichen and Bai Ruiting also nodded in agreement.
"Good, but some things need to be made clear, what everyone can get should match one’s strength and contribution. I don’t want to see anyone enjoying the fruits without having to work for them, or stabbing others in the back," Huang Tao said with eyes sharp as swords, sweeping over everyone’s faces, so piercing that no one dared to meet his gaze, and even the surrounding air seemed to chill.
No one doubted that if they did that, they would face his terrible retribution.
Sun Wei chuckled dryly, "Rest assured, if anyone dares to break the rules, there’s no need for you to take action, everyone will rise up against them."
So, the responsibilities were allocated by Huang Tao, who was the strongest on the surface, and then the group went deeper into the palace.
As everyone had expected, the dangers deep within were numerous. After moving forward for two 2-hour periods, they encountered attacks five times. Fortunately, only three of the tall yellow-haired monsters appeared and were promptly dealt with by Huang Tao, Su Yichen, and Bai Ruiting.
The path ahead was shrouded in darkness.
Shi Xiaole suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Young Hero Shi, what’s wrong?"
Xu Fang asked by his side.
Both were placed in the middle of the group, responsible for supporting the front and rear at any time.
"Enemy attack," Shi Xiaole said. Despite being unable to project his mental power outward, he had always been extremely sensitive to his environment, far more so than others.
Before Xu Fang could grasp what was happening, Huang Tao suddenly shouted from the front, "Everyone, be careful!"
Thud, thud, thud.
Shadows dashed out of the darkness, and at a glance, there appeared to be eighty or ninety ordinary yellow-haired monsters, outnumbering them by a factor of ten.
But that wasn’t all; amidst the sound of huge explosions, six more tall yellow-haired monsters rushed out, their powerful presence making it hard for everyone to breathe even from hundreds of meters away.
Huang Tao’s expression turned ugly.
Dealing with one tall yellow-haired monster wasn’t difficult for him, but dealing with two would almost double the difficulty. The key was, he didn’t want to exhaust all his strength to protect others.
"This is bad!"
Sun Wei shouted loudly.
In just that brief moment, the yellow-haired monsters had pounced on them, with one of the tall ones breaking through to the middle of the group under cover and slamming its huge paw down.
"Mysterious Light Thunder!"
Feeling the terrifying force, Xu Fang’s pretty face turned pale, and without thinking, she unleashed her powerful technique. But with a mere ding, her sword light was shattered instantly, exposing her defenseless figure.
"Water Wave Strikes the Heavens!"
Amidst the sound of crashing waves, a blue fist of Vigorous Air surged forward. The attacker was a youth dressed in brocade, who continuously pounded with his fists, trying to stop the tall yellow-haired monster and buy time for Xu Fang to evade.
Yet, the youth in brocade still underestimated the tall yellow-haired monster.
Under the terrifying force of momentum, the monster’s body produced a layer of arched transparent air waves, like blades, easily slicing the blue fists into two.
The tall yellow-haired monster let out a roar, its hoarse and low sound waves vibrating outward, whitening the face of the youth in brocade and freezing his feet in place.
He was an outstanding disciple from a top faction of the Daxia dynasty, only a centenarian, with no need to risk his life for a woman he had just met, despite being somewhat moved by her.
Seeing the ferocity of the tall yellow-haired monster, everyone else felt a chill in their hearts, and being too far to assist, they couldn’t reach her in time.
Just as Xu Fang’s mind went blank, thinking she was going to die on the spot, a brilliant blue sword light suddenly streaked by her.
"Why is it him?"
Xu Fang saw Shi Xiaole.
He didn’t run? That was her first thought. Could it be for me? That was her second thought.
Moved, yet inevitably feeling helpless, she knew that with Shi Xiaole’s strength, going forward was a death sentence unless he possessed the power of Huang Tao or Su Yichen.
While her thoughts were still transitioning, Xu Fang’s pupils suddenly narrowed, and her face showed an incredulous expression.
There was no anticipated one-sided slaughter, no scene of bloodshed. Shi Xiaole’s seemingly ordinary sword had astonishingly held back the tall yellow-haired monster and even forced it back three steps.
"What?"
Everyone else, more or less paying attention to the scene, cried out in surprise.
Su Yichen, who was fighting with two other tall yellow-haired monsters, had sparks in his eyes and a deepening smile on his lips.
Bai Ruiting snorted and quickened her pace.
Huang Tao’s gaze flickered deep within his eyes, maintaining his original output of strength, holding back one tall yellow-haired monster and several small ones.
Shi Xiaole originally didn’t intend to take action, but he could not stand idly by as others were in danger. Luckily, no one in the scene could harm him, so it didn’t matter if he exposed himself.
"Raging Tide!"
Facing the oncoming tall yellow-haired monster, Shi Xiaole activated sixty percent of his strength and swung his sword, unleashing a sea of blue sword energy that swept towards the enemy like a blanket, slashing it countless times in an instant.
Spurting sounds...
The tall yellow-haired monster was sent flying, sparks spewing from its body. On its way, it crashed into several other yellow-haired monsters, inadvertently easing the pressure on the others.
Seizing the opportunity, Sun Wei and the others quickly blinked behind Shi Xiaole.
