After thoroughly studying how the robot worked, Zhao Rong smiled at the three women and his assistant. "Looks like modern technology has finally become completely idiot-proof," he said.
"Zhao Rong, what do you mean by ’idiot-proof’?" Lili asked, confused.
"It means the controls are so simple that even an idiot could use this robot," Zhao Rong explained.
"Then hurry up and tell us how to use this Villain Terminator to catch the mastermind behind all this!" she urged.
Zhao Rong gently pressed a button on the robot’s back. "The operation is incredibly simple. We just press this button, and the robot will automatically start searching for the villain. All we have to do is follow it. It’s that easy."
When Yu Lan heard how easy the robot was to operate, she exclaimed happily, "Zhao Rong, I never expected the Villain Terminator you bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart to be so user-friendly! This is amazing!"
The Villain Terminator started moving, and Xuelian followed it out the door. She turned back and asked, "Zhao Rong, are you sure we’ll find the real mastermind just by following this robot?"
"Absolutely," Zhao Rong replied with complete confidence. "When I bought this from the Paradise Shopping Cart, the seller gave me a guarantee. If it fails to find the mastermind, they’ll not only give us a full refund but will also compensate us $10,000,000 for our mental distress."
Hearing this, the assistant’s eyes lit up with an idea for a quick buck. He sidled up to Zhao Rong, leaned in with a sly grin, and whispered, "Zhao Rong, I’ve got an idea for making a fortune. Want to hear it? If you listen to me, I guarantee you can have ten million dollars in no time."
Before the assistant could finish, Zhao Rong cut him off, seeing right through his scheme. "Assistant, do you really think I don’t know what you’re plotting? You want to deliberately make the robot fail so you can extort the seller, don’t you?"
"Zhao Rong, how is that extortion?" the assistant argued, trying to defend himself. "It’s just asking for the compensation they promised, right?"
Zhao Rong immediately shot down the idea and began to lecture him. "Listen, Assistant. You need to be a good person—someone with integrity who plays by the rules.
"If you’re a cunning person who likes to cheat and take shortcuts, it might seem like you’re getting ahead in the short term. In the long run, however, you’re guaranteed to fail miserably."
With that, Zhao Rong and the three women followed the Villain Terminator, leaving the assistant standing alone in a daze to contemplate his life and reflect on his choices.
The group followed the robot out of the dormitory and headed directly toward the nearby principal’s office.
When Lili realized where the robot was leading them, she immediately piped up, "Zhao Rong, I told you before! The principal of this Magic Academy can’t be a good person. It was probably him who stole our genetic sequences and gene maps to create all those clones. You didn’t believe me then, but now the robot is leading us straight to his office to find the big boss. You have to believe me now, right?"
Yu Lan stepped forward to stand by Zhao Rong, countering Lili’s point. "Lili, just because the robot is taking us to the principal’s office doesn’t mean he’s the mastermind. It’s possible someone else is in there, and that person is the real final boss."
Before Yu Lan could finish, the Villain Terminator brought them right to the door of the principal’s office. However, to the surprise of Zhao Rong, the three women, and the assistant, the robot suddenly powered down and stopped moving.
Seeing the robot halt, Lili immediately pulled a pair of x-ray glasses from her pocket. "The villain has to be inside this office," she declared. "I’ll use these glasses to see who’s behind this door."
Yu Lan, however, was looking at the motionless robot. "Zhao Rong," she said, "do you think it’s possible it stopped working because its batteries ran out? If you put some new Nanfu batteries in, maybe it would start up again."
Hearing this, Xuelian pulled ten AA batteries and ten AAA batteries from her pocket and handed them to Zhao Rong. "I happened to bring these spares with me. Quickly, open up the robot and change the batteries to see if it starts working again."
Zhao Rong picked up the Villain Terminator, opened a compartment on its back, and replaced all ten of its AA batteries with the new Nanfu ones. After closing it up, he pressed the button.
The moment Zhao Rong pressed the red button on its back, the robot whirred back to life. But instead of proceeding, it took a sharp turn and stopped in front of the adjacent director’s office.
Just then, Lili, who was peering into the principal’s office with her x-ray glasses, suddenly covered her eyes in embarrassment. "Holy crap! Are you kidding me? I’m seeing two magical beasts mating in there!"
