Chapter 2356: Chapter 663: Gathering at the Bruch Household (3)
"So it was, it was Miss An. You actually came to Country Zi." Charlie forced the corners of his mouth up, the smile uglier than a cry. This woman had killed the Archbishop in Red; in front of her he wasn’t even worth a fart!
"So Mr. Charlie knows me." An Yiqing raised her brows in mild surprise, then smiled meaningfully. "In that case, this is easy. I’m guaranteeing Louise and Qiao. If His Royal Highness the Prince has any objections, tell him to come to me directly. Of course, if anything happens to Louise and Qiao after I leave, I don’t mind paying the Lasombra Clan a personal visit. Mr. Charlie, did you understand me?"
"Y-yes, yes, yes!" Charlie’s head bobbed like a pecking chick; he didn’t even dare look An Yiqing in the eye. "Miss An, I just remembered there are some matters I haven’t dealt with yet. I’ll be going first today. No need to see me off, don’t see me off!"
With that, under the dumbstruck gazes of Louise and Qiao, the badly injured Charlie ran faster than a rabbit, disappearing from the antique shop in the blink of an eye.
The people from the Lasombra Clan were all gone; aside from a faint stink of blood, they hadn’t left anything behind. An Yiqing let out a breath of relief, turned to look at Louise and Qiao, and frowned slightly.
"Mr. Qiao, you’re too weak. I think, if you want to live with the woman you love, the first thing is to have the ability to protect her." As she spoke, she took out a pill and handed it to Qiao. "This is Healing Medicine. Take it."
Qiao blankly took the pill and stuffed it into his mouth. It melted the instant it touched his tongue, a sweet fragrance filling his nose. Qiao froze for a moment, his gaze on An Yiqing growing even stranger.
"You... who exactly are you?" He had left the Blood Clan a long time ago and wasn’t clear on what had happened these past years. Who on earth was An Yiqing? Just how powerful was she?
"I’m An Yiqing, Gu Tingting’s best friend. I just happened to kill a few pieces of trash from The Church, so I picked up a bit of a reputation, that’s all." An Yiqing shrugged, sounding utterly unconcerned.
But Qiao knew: easy as she made it sound, without enough strength, how could she make that arrogant, prideful Charlie so terrified!
He gave An Yiqing a complicated look; besides gratitude, his heart held a trace of probing curiosity.
The simple-hearted Louise didn’t think as deeply as Qiao. When she came back to her senses, her eyes were shining as she stared at An Yiqing. Her two emerald-green eyes were like searchlights, sweeping An Yiqing from head to toe.
"Dear An, I didn’t expect you to be this strong! You’re actually a master! My God, my friend is a mysterious Dongfang expert!" Louise grabbed An Yiqing’s small hand in one swoop, her face full of joy and excitement. "An, are you like in those Xuanjin movies, able to run along roofs and walls, with that... that qinggong? Are you some kind of immortal from Dongfang?"
An Yiqing was torn between laughter and tears by the barrage of questions, and could only look helplessly to Qiao for rescue. Who knew Qiao would just shrug, give Louise a doting glance, and completely ignore the knife-like glares An Yiqing was throwing his way.
Qiao’s injuries were severe, so Louise didn’t have much mind to chat with An Yiqing, her thoughts fixed entirely on her husband. An Yiqing didn’t stay long either; she checked Qiao’s wounds, and after confirming there was no problem, left the antique shop.
In the taxi back to the hotel, Long Zixuan, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced back at An Yiqing, wanting to speak but hesitating.
An Yiqing, who had been looking out the window, withdrew her gaze and spoke in Xuanjin Language. "If you have something to say, just ask."
Long Zixuan chuckled, rubbed his nose—nothing could be hidden from her.
"Sister An, you’ve just arrived in Country Zi and already offended the leader of the Blood Clan Devil Sect. Is that really okay?"
The Blood Clan had three factions: the Magic Party, the Secret Party, and the Neutral Party. The Bruch Family, where Bali and Eddie came from, were the leaders of the Secret Party. They advocated rules and order, and promoted peaceful coexistence within the human world. The Magic Party was the complete opposite: they were the militant faction, believing the world should be ruled by the strong. As for those humans who couldn’t even truss a chicken, just killing them was fine. They ignored the existence of Blood Clan rules, relying on their own advantages to aggressively expand their territory, and many ordinary humans had suffered at their hands. The family Louise belonged to, the Lasombra Clan, was the leader of the Magic Party and also the most powerful family within the Magic Party.
Louise’s husband Qiao’s Asamai Famly belonged to the third faction, the Neutral Party. So-called Neutral Party meant the families struggling to survive between the Secret Party and the Magic Party. The Asamai Famly was one of them. This family was a clan of assassins among the Blood Clan from the Middle Eastern deserts. Asamai members were mainly hired by other Blood Clan; their payment was their employer’s blood. Later, as time passed, the Asamai Famly became one of the teams in the Blood Clan’s Neutral Party. However, to all Blood Clan, this family was the most notorious and also the most lowly. After all, one side were richly dressed nobles, the other side grassroots killers from the wilds. It was only natural that the Lasombra Clan’s Old Prince was unwilling to let Louise marry Qiao.
