Chapter 727: Chapter 698: Love in a Parallel Universe [020]
(Extra Chapter for November ticket 10.5/13)
As Sienna entered the house, she saw Quentin standing by the sliding door, looking toward the garden gate and guessed he must have seen Simon Forrester.
She nonchalantly changed into slippers and sat down on the sofa: "Daddy, where did you go this morning?"
Quentin smiled and sat back down on the sofa: "I went to see your grandma."
"Oh? What project is Grandma busy with lately?"
She naturally diverted the topic, intending to finish it and sneak upstairs, but Quentin skillfully brought the conversation back.
"Annie," Quentin looked at his charming daughter, "Did you go out today with the person who drove you home yesterday?"
Sienna frowned, refusing to answer the thing Quentin was most concerned about: "Don’t you know his name? Why not just say it directly."
"Alright, alright," Quentin was patient, "Did you go out with Simon Forrester today? Where did you go?"
"I had a stomach issue on the plane to London, and he helped me, so I invited him for a meal as a thank you."
She didn’t tell Quentin that she and Simon were already together, fearing Quentin would overreact and summon Simon for a talk at home.
They had just confirmed their relationship, and things weren’t stable yet. Any family interference would be detrimental to nurturing their relationship.
Sienna had her own pace and plan for managing her relationship with Simon, so she wouldn’t relent now.
Quentin could easily guess his daughter’s thoughts.
Though she was well-behaved and sensible, she was actually quite stubborn and seldom changed her mind once she decided on something.
Confrontation in this matter would lead to resistance, and any conflict might push her further towards him.
Quentin decided to take a step back first.
He eased his tone and said with a smile, "It’s right to thank someone for their help. But it’s not good for a girl to return home so late. Even if someone gives you a ride, you shouldn’t come back so late next time."
Sienna seized the opportunity: "Okay, Daddy, I understand. I’ll come home earlier from now on." After saying this, she quickly darted upstairs.
Once the door was closed, she immediately took out her phone, not bothering to bathe, eagerly waiting for Simon’s call.
After waiting for 45 minutes, Simon finally called. She happily picked up, clearing her throat beforehand.
"Have you finished your bath?" he asked over the phone, his voice playful, with an elevator chime in the background.
Blushing, she replied, "Not yet," hugging the phone and diving into bed, her hot face buried in the blanket, saying, "Did you just get off the car?"
"Yeah, I’m in the elevator."
He had intended to call her after bathing when he got home, but thinking this silly girl might be unable to eat or drink while waiting for his call, he called as soon as he got off the car.
"I live in the New District. It takes about an hour to drive from your house. When I drop you home, you can go do other things first. Only when I’m almost home should you free up time to wait for my call," he said.
She let out a soft "Hmm," with a tender voice: "It’s really far. Maybe you shouldn’t give me a ride anymore. Otherwise, it’s too tiring for you to drive an hour back home."
The sound of a "ding" came from the other end, indicating Simon had exited the elevator.
After a few seconds, his pleasant voice came through on the phone: "It’s okay, it’s temporary."
He wanted to say they wouldn’t need to go through such troubles after getting married but feared saying it might scare her, so he held back the latter part.
But she got it, blushing as she rolled around on the bed, too happy to know what to say.
Simon guessed her adorable reactions and chuckled softly, "I’ve entered home. I’ll take a bath first, let’s video call in half an hour."
Video call???
Oh my God!!!
It turns out dating is full of so many fun things!
She wanted to say—Okay, okay! I’ll be waiting for you!
But worrying that it might not seem reserved enough, she shyly said, "But I might fall asleep in half an hour."
"It’s fine, then next time..."
"Hey—" she quickly added, "I just remembered there’s some work I need to handle, so I won’t be asleep in half an hour! I’ll wait for you!"
She then hastily hung up the call.
The girl’s neck, behind her ears, and face were all flushed red.
She grabbed a bathrobe and headed into the bathroom, preparing to be all fresh and nice for the video call with Simon.
She hadn’t seen Simon post-bath either, nor his home. She really wanted to see both!
So excited, so anticipating!
.
Sienna took a thirty-minute battle shower, blow-dried her hair, and started rummaging for pajamas.
Searching through, she found only cute cotton ones, finally managing to find a pink cotton pajama with some lace.
