Chapter 699: Chapter 670: The Era of Second Children (Part 9)

Thinking about that letter from ten years ago, it was when I had such severe early pregnancy symptoms with my first child that I went to Norport to reminisce about my first kiss with Simon Forrester and wrote it while on vacation. Sienna Thornton almost laughed herself breathless.

She ran to the sofa, wrapped her arms around Simon Forrester’s neck, and sat down, laughing back and forth: "What love letter! This is clearly a family letter!"

Victor carefully put away the letter and softly asked, "Do Cherie and Yvie have letters too?"

Simon Forrester patted his eldest son’s shoulder: "This letter is a blessing from Mom and Dad just for you. When Cherie and Yvie turn ten, Mom and Dad will also write them letters."

Victor understood, turned around, hugged Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester, kissed them both on the cheek, then jumped off the sofa: "Then I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight, Mom and Dad!"

Simon Forrester followed to tuck the kids in, also checking if Cherie had kicked off her blanket. Only when everything was in order did he return to the bedroom.

Sienna Thornton was already lying on the bed. Simon Forrester closed the door and turned off the lights, got into bed, pulled her into his arms, and found her lips for a kiss.

She lay on Simon Forrester’s chest, fingers randomly poking at his firm abs, saying as she poked: "Oh, in the blink of an eye, ten years have gone by. I’m already forty-two this year... I feel like an old hag."

Simon Forrester feigned surprise: "What? My wife is actually forty-two? I thought she was only twenty-two!"

Sienna Thornton was shy, rubbing her face against his chest, giggling softly.

He propped one hand behind his head, the other massaging the fluffy hair on her head, lowering his gaze to watch, his eyes turning into crescent moons, sparkling with starlight.

"Even if your wife is twenty-two, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re already forty-seven, you know."

Four days later, the Forrester Family held a grand hundreds-table banquet at the newly renovated The Imperial Hotel to celebrate their direct great-grandson Kevin Forrester’s tenth birthday.

Victor was dressed sharply in black dress shorts, a white shirt, black lambskin shoes, and a sky-blue bow tie.

The dragon-phoenix twins, Cherie dressed just like Victor in a tiny tuxedo and bow tie; Yvie wore a white princess gown with a real diamond tiara in her hair.

Old Master Forrester sat in a wheelchair, pushed by younger members of the Forrester Family, with the three precious great-grandchildren, making rounds in the banquet hall, thanking the guests for attending and proudly showing off the three adorable and intelligent golden great-grandchildren.

Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton were busy entertaining their friends.

Years had passed, and the eligible bachelors from the time of Candy Sheridan’s wedding mostly settled down.

Kevin Chaucer, Vincent Zollner, Logan Lockwood, Harrison Rowe, and Gavin Gale all made their own families years ago; Gage Grant and Maeve had a little princess; Rhonda Wagner and Rochelle Linwood celebrated the birth of a beloved son years ago; and Jack Hawthorne even chased for a second child; only Ronan Grant was still sifting through the shifting sea of romance these years.

Sienna Thornton’s other close friend, Zion Quincy, is now the Chief of Neurosurgery at Brimfield City Hospital, and a few years ago, he tied the knot with a female cardiologist who had returned from overseas.

These people, along with their families, gathered at Victor’s tenth birthday banquet.

The banquet was lively yet warm, with only the late Old Master Grant and Zachary Grant caught up in the Western Army missing, while the rest were the same crew who attended Candy Sheridan’s wedding.

During the banquet, friends sighed at how quickly time had passed but were grateful everyone had found their happiness and those they wished to spend their lives with.

Half a month after Victor’s tenth birthday party, Cherie and Yvie graduated to primary school, and Simon Forrester, after accompanying them for a month, felt assured that the twins had adapted well to school life, finally booking a flight to Los Angeles.

He left two days after the National Day, having spent the seven-day holiday with his wife and kids in Norport, staying at the seaside villa where he and Sienna Thornton once declared their love.

Back from Norport, Sienna Thornton started packing his luggage.

October in Los Angeles is a bit warmer than in Brimfield, so Sienna Thornton placed three autumn suits and matching shirts and ties, three sets of loungewear, three sets of casual clothes, along with men’s underwear, socks, bathrobes, towels, etc., into two 28-inch suitcases.

The two oversized suitcases were packed full.

Simon Forrester came out after his shower to see Sienna Thornton, in a white cotton lacy nightgown, squatting on the floor of the walk-in closet, tucking skincare products and watch boxes into his suitcase.

His heart softened as he smiled and said, "I should take a picture of you packing my suitcase."

"Why?"

"Having Mayor Thorne squatting on the floor packing my suitcase, isn’t that something worth bragging about?"

Sienna Thornton laughed heartily: "What’s there to brag about? Mayors are people too, who doesn’t have a wife to help with packing?"

Simon Forrester, fully smitten, sat on a nearby soft stool, wiping his hair, watching his wife busy herself for him.

He loved her so much that even the smallest help she gave him moved his heart to the point of trembling, leaving him feeling utterly tender.

"Oops." Sienna Thornton suddenly exclaimed softly.

Simon Forrester returned to the moment: "What’s wrong?"

"I forgot to buy some condoms on my way home from work, and we don’t have any at home. Remember to buy a few boxes yourself at the airport tomorrow."

Simon Forrester didn’t quite get it: "Buy what?"

"Protection!"

Simon Forrester: "..."

In an instant, he almost asked her if she mistook him for Zane, but thinking better of it, he instead asked, "Are you kidding? Should I call Tobias to give you a month off to go with me to the United States?"

Sienna Thornton was squatting on the ground, covering her mouth and laughing. After she finished, she closed the suitcase, turned around, walked over, and sat down in front of him, cupping his chin with one hand and said very seriously, "Look at me, I’m really serious!"

He pretended to be angry, casting her a sidelong glance: "Hmm."

"When you get there, if there’s really an unexpected situation, please remember to take protective measures, don’t bring anything dirty back."

"And then?"

She slightly lifted the corner of her lips, gazing at his still very attractive lips despite his age, gently poking with her index finger, and slowly said, "You do know my situation, right? I studied law, and I’m the mayor. The inheritance your grandfather left you, aside from The Forrester’s shares, I get half of everything else. You know what happens if you become the one at fault in the marriage right?"

He shook his head wordlessly: "Walk away with the other half of what Grandpa left me, and don’t even think about getting custody of the kids. The Forresters will have a tough time under your care in the future."
