Chapter 1075: Chapter 597: Pigsty

The scene soon calmed down, and they began to deal with the aftermath, removing the corpses, while discovering more details under the torchlight.

This place resembles a weapon workshop, filled with all sorts of miscellaneous scraps, rusty metals dismantled from unknown places, mostly hammered into oddly shaped iron pieces.

"These pigmen lack smelting technology, but they are indeed capable of modifying some junk."

"These twisted creatures actually understand this, no wonder My Lord considers them dangerous."

"Blasphemous abominations! They must be expelled from this world!" Junia said with an earnest expression, clearly showing her disgust towards everything related to the pigmen.

"These things have some history; they actually dare to put this on their bodies? Where did it come from? It can’t be that they picked it up from ruins, can it?"

Amanda went over to casually poke around, muttering something.

Suddenly, she seemed to discover something, and her voice rose unexpectedly.

"There are antiques here?"

"And what’s this? Gold coins!"

"..."

Amanda, with her background, was destined to excel at identification, quickly finding some valuable items in the scattered junk.

Unfortunately, most of them had been smashed into iron lumps, with only a few intact enough to be worth some money.

The group became interested upon hearing this, even Junia, who prayed daily, knew that nothing could be accomplished in this world without money.

For the moment, their attention was focused on these items...

Meanwhile, at the other end of the Beast Lair, a second team composed of Baldwin, Tadiff, Dismas, and Paracelsus was experiencing a fierce battle in the Beast Lair.

A team led by a pigman knight blocked their path, causing a sudden encounter battle to break out.

No words were wasted as everyone grabbed their gear and charged.

Just moments ago, Baldwin saw how exaggerated the charging stance of the pigman knight was; no matter how confident he was, he dared not let it charge freely.

"I’ll hold it off!"

Saying that, Baldwin rushed forward with his short sword and engaged in a struggle, the clash between the lance and the short sword was intense enough to showcase the fierce power duel.

Outside, Baldwin was confident in easily defeating, as he’d previously explored the weaknesses of pigman knights, but in the narrow passage of the Beast Lair, he had to consider his teammates and adopt a conservative strategy.

Fortunately, his teammates were not ordinary people.

Without a hint of fear, Paracelsus observed through the lenses beneath the beak mask, her hand constantly rummaging in her waist pouch, causing a clinking sound of potion vials.

Almost as Baldwin held off the charging pigman knight, she pulled out a potion vial and hurled it at the pigman priest lurking behind.

Blinding gas!

She lacked the ability to throw with absolute accuracy, but when the vial exploded at the priest’s feet, its contents immediately enveloped an area.

Lance requested a development of anesthetics, and with Grendel the pharmacist’s help, Paracelsus unexpectedly refined a substance that rapidly volatilizes upon contact with air, causing temporary blindness and perception disruption at certain concentrations. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

And now, the pigman priest’s spell was interrupted, leading to frantic pig screeching.

All present were veterans, unable to let this chance slip by.

Dismas raised his hand and fired, landing a headshot, whether dead or not was uncertain, as he drew his short sword and charged forward.

Dismas’s combat style was aggressive, exuding a sense of brutality.

The short sword targeted vital points, from throats to hearts and kidneys; despite having modified armor, it could slip through the gaps.

One strike might not kill, but the unstaunched bleeding would be enough to drain the remaining life force.

Dismas, after losing a match to Margaret and then encountering his archenemy Michelle, finally awakened and abandoned his life of corruption, returning to the battlefield.

Only through actual combat could he truly experience the gifts of the lord and ultimately achieve redemption.

Tadiff, without such words, simply got the job done, preferring to chop.

Now, with the others creating distance, Baldwin could finally go all out in battle.

Though the sword was broken, its might remained!

My Lord was clear: just circle to the side and rear.

The short sword moved with Baldwin’s motion, delivering slashes as if entire mountains were collapsing with unmatched momentum.

His skill had reached its peak, appearing almost tangible.

The pigman knight was merely large and strong; against technique, these became useless, easily dismembered.

Once the pigman priest was dead, the greatest threat disappeared; now the knight fell, and without anyone to hinder Baldwin, more pigmen were merely subjects for Paracelsus’s experiments.

Confusion Impact!

Another vial was thrown, its contents dispersing as dust exploded, sending the pigmen into chaos, the compound causing sensory disorder while the contained Corpse Decomposition Spore cleared flesh remnants from the battlefield.

The relatively sealed passage of the Beast Lair provided a perfect experimental ground, nothing more suitable than the battlefield.

The pigmen did not flee; rather, they kept emerging from the far end of the passage, even prompted by drumbeats and pig screeches as others joined from various places.
