Chapter 637: Chapter 637: I Have Collected Them All

"Baby, I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have tried to strangle you. I know I was wrong. Please don’t go, baby. I can’t live without you..."

William Quinn pleaded.

He was frantic, clutching her tightly, terrified she would vanish the very next moment.

His body was even trembling slightly.

But Iris could only think, ’He’s a madman!’

’A complete and utter madman!’

’How can someone’s mood change so fast?!’

’One second he’s trying to strangle me, and the next he’s apologizing and saying he can’t live without me.’

’Terrifying. This is terrifying!’

"Let go! Let me go!"

Iris struggled with all her might, her voice choked with sobs. "I hate you! You’re a devil! I don’t want to be with you! I don’t want this!"

Her cries were filled with despair. Despite using every ounce of her strength, she couldn’t break free from his arms.

They were like thick iron chains, binding her completely, making escape impossible.

’How hopeless.’

Hearing the sob in her voice, William grew even more frantic. Helpless and distressed, he wiped away her tears.

"I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, baby. I’m truly sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you. I was just so angry... you wanting to leave me... The moment I thought of you leaving me, I just couldn’t control myself..."

"How could you leave me? You can’t leave me. You’re my treasure, the one I searched so hard for. You’re supposed to stay with me forever."

He repeated these words over and over like a man possessed.

Iris struggled until she was too exhausted to move, leaving her limp in his embrace as tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry..."

William apologized over and over until his voice grew hoarse.

Iris closed her eyes in despair and asked, "What will it take for you to let me go?"

With his eyes closed, William just kept murmuring, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry... baby... my baby... I’m so, so sorry..."

Iris simply went numb.

She didn’t know how much time had passed before his voice finally trailed off.

He suddenly lifted her into his arms and carried her out of the room.

Iris cried out in alarm, "Where are you taking me?"

William looked at her, a strange glint flickering in his blue eyes.

"Baby, those messages in a bottle you sent out? I collected all of them. You made them with your own hands. How could I let anyone else have them?"

Hearing his words, the color drained from Iris’s face.

William carried her down a long corridor, all the way to the end. He opened a door, revealing a room shrouded in a dim, oppressive darkness.

Looking at the dim room, Iris felt as if she’d been cast into an endless abyss.

’Oppression. A cage. Pain...’

She began to struggle instinctively. "No... don’t..."

"Don’t be afraid, baby."

William placed a reassuring kiss on her forehead. "I won’t hurt you," he said.

With that, he flipped on the lights.

The lights flickered on, and Iris reflexively squeezed her eyes shut. When she opened them again, she saw an entire wall of display cabinets filled with red wine bottles!

Inside each bottle was a rolled-up slip of paper. As far as she could see, all twenty or thirty of the bottles she had cast away were here!

"Twenty-seven messages in a bottle. I collected every single one. Aren’t I great, baby?"

William held her, his blue eyes sparkling as he gazed at her like a big puppy.

Iris only found it terrifying.

"Are you... are you sick in the head?"

She couldn’t stop herself from asking the question.
