Chapter 1194: Chapter 1193: Two Against One
"The two of us are intertwined in fate—if one dies, the other will too. So, fighting you together isn’t excessive, right?" Pei Yan lifted his head and looked calmly at Saraf.
"Ha ha ha, I expected you both would strike together! Are you going to use the Beast God’s unity? Come on! Let me see it. I’ve heard stories about how powerful that state is after the symbiosis contract has successfully been signed. Back in my era, it was a sight I never witnessed, and after all these years of slumber, I get the chance to see it today." Saraf had anticipated Hu Jiu’s joining from the start, so he was unperturbed, proactively taunting them.
"Enough! We don’t need such high-level tactics to deal with you. Hu Jiu, let’s finish this fight quickly. We have other things waiting for us!"
"Oh!"
Responding casually to Pei Yan’s words, their figures immediately disappeared from the spot. Watching the two vanish, Saraf couldn’t help but curse, "Damn it! Are you still going to use those strange tricks? I’m really being underestimated! Dragon Flame!"
With a roar, Saraf’s entire body turned crimson, and the dark dragon scales gleamed with a fiery light, as if magma, not blood, flowed beneath them. As the surrounding air alternated between hot and cold, layers of white mist formed around Saraf. Ready for battle, he bent down and thrust his hands into the ground, and moments later, half of the battlefield trembled.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
His dragon’s might expanded, and the moment he sensed any foreign energy within his reach, scorching magma erupted from beneath. In an instant, two rows of magma pillars shot up from two directions. Although Pei Yan and Hu Jiu were nowhere to be seen, the trajectory suggested their path.
One of the swiftly advancing magma pillars halted abruptly just before reaching Saraf. Suddenly veering sideways, a figure manifested—it was Pei Yan. Just as he changed direction, Saraf, whose hands were dug into the ground, bellowed. In the blink of an eye, the ground before him solidified into a massive boulder, as large as a mountain. With a roar, he ripped it from the earth and hurled it towards Pei Yan’s current position.
In the next moment, leaving a bottomless pit behind, the gigantic stone, no less than those Long Taichu used to move mountains, hurtled toward Pei Yan, blotting out the sky. However, Pei Yan, who had long noticed this, didn’t move an inch, merely raising his palm toward the boulder.
Boom!
The impact of the boulder’s descent triggered a seismic reaction, shaking the Dragon Realm even with the Array’s reinforcement. Many structures, already damaged from previous battles, crumbled in succession under the tremors. A cloud of smoke and fire flared up in the Dragon Realm, but Long Taichu and the others, observing the battle, were not concerned about the damage to the Dragon Realm caused by the attack. All eyes were fixed on the enormous stone in the center.
Including Saraf, no one believed Pei Yan would be killed by this blow. They were only curious to see how Pei Yan would escape.
"It’s shattered! Look! The boulder’s cracking!" Golden Phoenix Feather clapped and cheered, pointing at the boulder beginning to crack.
As Golden Phoenix Feather said, amidst a series of crisp cracking noises, the boulder pressing down on Pei Yan began to web with fissures. As the cracking intensified, more fissures appeared until, after a dense crackling like firecrackers, all sounds halted. With a loud thud, the massive boulder shattered into powder, the fragments carried by a gust of source energy and swept toward Saraf like a sandstorm.
Roar!
The high-pitched dragon roar echoed in the skies of the Dragon Realm. Raising his head high, Saraf let out a dragon’s roar, and from his gaping maw, Dragon Breath burst forth. The raging Dragon Breath sliced through the encroaching dust storm like a knife through silk, dividing it in two. The swirling dust grazed Saraf’s sides, but he remained unfazed, charging straight forward after releasing the Dragon Breath.
Bam! Two figures collided in the air above the deep pit left by the removed boulder. It was a direct confrontation between Pei Yan and Saraf.
Bam! Bam! Bam! Another figure joined the fray; it was Hu Jiu catching up. Two against one, Pei Yan and Hu Jiu held the upper hand, their cooperation seamless. As they fought Saraf, Pei Yan would suddenly vanish mid-fight, allowing Hu Jiu to take over. Losing Pei Yan’s trail didn’t ease Saraf’s burden; instead, it added psychological pressure. He had to fight Hu Jiu while constantly on alert for any anomalies. Just as Saraf adapted to battling Hu Jiu, Pei Yan reappeared, swapping places with Hu Jiu.
Alternating their attacks, with one vanishing and reappearing, put immense psychological and mental strain on Saraf. Even he couldn’t maintain his dragon’s power release under such intense combat. As he briefly caught his breath, his suppression and probing through Dragon’s Might weakened, and Pei Yan’s baiting tactic of manipulating aura resurfaced. With Hu Jiu’s cooperation, the deception effect doubled, and Saraf grew numb to the omnipresent sense of danger.
Sometimes, even when Pei Yan and Hu Jiu appeared right before him, a deadly intent emanated from behind. Assuming the attack from behind was surely fake, Saraf was caught off guard by Hu Jiu’s full-force punch to his back. Only then did Saraf realize it was only Pei Yan before him, with Hu Jiu’s perfect illusion fooling him. Out of ten counterattacks, Saraf guessed wrong six times, suffering mentally and physically. A sense of helplessness began to gnaw at him.
Despite their physical prowess being inferior to his, Saraf was infuriated that they steadily gained the upper hand through control over source energy and speed. Thinking about this, Saraf’s fury flared, lamenting that he wasn’t at his peak!
"You! You dare to toy with me like this! I am the Destruction Lord! What right does a lowly monkey from another dimension have to battle me!" The frustration of feeling he could best his foes yet being overwhelmed by them was infuriating, driving Saraf to near madness amidst the relentless combat!
