Chapter 1187: Chapter 1187: Fleeing Swiftly
Since the Candle Dragon tore open the space rift, Saraf, who had a previously arrogant image, changed his demeanor on the battlefield to observe the situation. When the Ancestral God appeared, he further reduced his presence, lurking in the shadows, searching for an opportunity to strike, which led both sides of the war to temporarily overlook his existence until Bai Ze pointed it out with a single remark.
The goodwill Saraf had towards Bai Ze for releasing him was completely worn away by Bai Ze’s series of actions. Although Saraf was biting his teeth in hatred towards Bai Ze, he couldn’t deny the truth in his words. Whether the members of Xuesha could successfully retreat had nothing to do with him, but once the Dragon Realm dealt with these external threats, the next target would be him, an internal concern. Compared to waiting to be killed, heading towards this unknown newly formed land that dared to challenge the Ancestral God seemed like a better choice for him.
After a moment of contemplation, Saraf immediately made a decision. He raised his head, let out a resonant dragon roar towards the sky, after which his enormous body began to shrink. It wasn’t long before his size reduced to that of a normal adult dragon. Saraf turned and, with outstretched wings, flew high, rushing towards the space rift opened by Xuesha.
"Stop him! Don’t let him escape!" Long Taichu shouted loudly upon seeing this situation. However, when facing Saraf’s raid, the people of the Dragon Realm were helpless. Saraf was indifferent to the space turbulence that others avoided, utilizing his robust body to fly straight into the space rift. Even when his body was slashed by the sharp turbulence, leaving bloody gashes, these wounds were insignificant to a dragon’s powerful regenerative ability.
Saraf dared to act this way because he had the capability, but the other dragons did not have such a privilege. After weighing the pros and cons, the Ancestral God, locked in a standoff with the Candle Dragon mid-air, made a difficult choice and commanded, "Pei Yan, don’t forget the task I assigned you when you came to the Dragon Realm!"
"Ah! Ah! Ah! Now kill this one, now kill that one! What exactly do you want me to do?" Pei Yan went crazy hearing the command, just as he was about to cut most of the Dark Race in half.
"First, stop Saraf; he mustn’t be allowed to side with Xuesha, or it will cause endless trouble!" The Ancestral God issued another warning, comparing the minor nuisances like Fafnir to the major threat Saraf posed should he ally with Xuesha, which could cause significant damage to the Dragon Realm.
"Damn it!" Pei Yan glanced at Saraf, who bypassed him and headed straight for the space rift from another direction. Then he looked at the Fafnir about to be captured and finally, with a gritted tooth, launched an attack and turned his attention towards Saraf.
"Watch out! Get out of the way!" Nero would never take the risk of saving someone without great benefit. But if he could save a life and gain a favor just by uttering a few words, why not? Therefore, when Nero saw Pei Yan’s unforgettable attack, he immediately shouted a warning and quickly moved away from the attack’s trajectory.
Although Nero’s warning was a little late, it still had a certain effect. Fafnir saw Saraf get up and draw the pursuers’ attention, and was just about to breathe a sigh of relief finishing this deadly journey, but then heard Nero’s warning. Not knowing what kind of attack Pei Yan had launched, but realizing that whatever made a Child of Origin so wary could only spell his doom, Fafnir, a man of considerable importance, immediately steeled himself and, regardless of the spatial turbulence on either side, sidestepped. He allowed the space turbulence to cut half his body to shreds.
"Uh~ ah~!"
"What is this! My body, my body uh~ ah~!"
The screams came not from Fafnir but from several Dark Race elders trailing behind him, unable to react as quickly as Fafnir. Just a step too slow, their bodies were pierced by Pei Yan’s move. Watching their bodies turn to dust and drift away piece by piece, they let out despairing roars.
"Annihilation!" Fafnir was decisive in dodging, but he was still brushed by the energy. Compared to the others, he was quite lucky; the attack merely grazed his arm, yet the hit area began showing signs of disintegration. Seeing this, Fafnir immediately recalled the wounds Nero and others suffered during the Sword Discussion Conference finals. Shouting out the name of the attack instinctively, he regained his senses and decisively cut off his injured arm to prevent the power from spreading to the rest of his body.
Whether Fafnir escaped this disaster was no longer Pei Yan’s concern. With Hu Jiu, he quickly switched targets and dashed towards Saraf!
Facing this unfamiliar young man, Saraf already had some understanding of his strength following Pei Yan’s lead in opposing the Candle Dragon’s might across the Dragon Realm, but he only assumed Pei Yan leveraged the power of the world. Saraf didn’t pay much attention to Pei Yan’s own strength, so when Pei Yan and Hu Jiu teamed up to block him, he had no intention of dodging. Trusting his formidable physique, he planned to charge through and break directly into the space rift.
Pei Yan’s response further surprised Saraf: this young man faced Saraf’s charge without dodging, releasing no moves, instead raising a fist to confront him head-on. Did he mean to test strength against Saraf’s?
An overconfident fool whose strength has swelled too rapidly! This was Saraf’s first reaction to Pei Yan’s action, and with the intent to leave the opponent with a lifelong lesson, he summoned his physical power and charged at Pei Yan.
Unfortunately, this move did not teach Pei Yan a lesson but caused Saraf to suffer instead! Seeing Saraf rush forward, the stationary Pei Yan suddenly accelerated, transforming into a white streak rushing head-on!
In a flash, two figures, one black and one white, collided mid-air. With a dull impact sound, Saraf, struck on the head by Pei Yan’s iron fist, felt as if his skull was slammed by a sledgehammer. Immediately, his entire body was hit by a powerful wave, losing consciousness momentarily, and plummeting from the sky.
"What a pity, just one step away!" Pei Yan, who intercepted Saraf, had no time to rejoice when he heard Bai Ze’s annoying voice. Turning in the direction of the sound, he saw Fafnir dragging his wounded body with a small portion of Dark Race elders already entering the space rift, while for those left outside entangled by Long Taichu’s group, Bai Ze evidently decided to abandon them all.
As Bai Ze finished speaking, the fissure of the space passage also began to close. Watching Bai Ze’s smug face, Pei Yan slowly raised a middle finger at him.
