Chapter 1108: Chapter 1108: Conceding Defeat

As this thought emerged while Pei Yan was picking a target to attack, the four footsteps still blindly moving on the stage suddenly paused, then turned in unison to attack the corner where Pei Yan was hiding!

Discovered! Pei Yan’s heart was filled with panic at the moment. Although he was puzzled as to how Yue Yong had discovered him, Pei Yan remained calm, staying still to see if the opponent was trying to trick him into revealing himself.

But as a fierce palm strike came at him, he abandoned the idea. The opponent had precisely found his position and attacked without hesitation. With his hiding place exposed, there was no need to maintain disguise. Pei Yan immediately revealed himself, raised an arm to block the descending palm, and simultaneously kicked a leg behind him to attack the source energy clone. At the same time, a long knife appeared in his hand, which he swung at the person charging from the side.

Blocking Yue Yong’s punch with one hand, Pei Yan could feel that it was indeed Yue Yong’s real body in front of him. However, while his sidekick was powerful enough to disperse half of the source energy clone’s body, its supposed collapsing form didn’t disappear. It remained standing, with the remaining half grabbing Pei Yan’s leg and pulling him back.

Meanwhile, the long knife thrown by Pei Yan met the same fate. Another clone had stabilized the pierced body, and together with another clone, assaulted Pei Yan from both sides.

As his body was pulled and lost balance, Yue Yong launched another attack, while the others closed in from left and right for an encirclement! Pei Yan’s situation seemed extremely dangerous, and seeing this, he planted his foot on the ground, lifted his body into the air, just as he was about to be dragged away by the source energy clone behind him. A wave of surging source energy emanated from his body like a tide.

For a moment, whether it was Yue Yong himself or his three clones, all were blown away by this wave of energy. The half-body clone holding Pei Yan’s leg was blown apart, unable to maintain its human form, dissolving back into source energy and disappearing in the air.

Once free, Pei Yan immediately rolled on the ground as soon as he landed, then leapt up and looked at Yue Yong, who had been repelled into the distance. His face reddened with some embarrassment, not to mention having violated rules by using a Divine Artifact to hide himself. The move he just used to repel his opponent also seemed a bit unscrupulous, relying simply on overwhelming source energy without any technique to force the opponent back.

Yue Yong, however, did not show any sign of anger. After Pei Yan regained his stance, Yue Yong applauded and approached again. This time, he used neither any clones nor concealed himself; instead, he directly confronted Pei Yan head-on.

Pei Yan, seeing that the elder still wished to continue teaching, was naturally delighted and joined the fray. As soon as they clashed, the disparity between the two became evident. Pei Yan, being young and robust with abundant energy, possessed multiple bloodline powers, whereas Yue Yong, though experienced, was nonetheless aging and his vigor was dwindling. Once entangled in close combat for too long, this gap became increasingly pronounced, and he soon fell into a disadvantage.

Seeing this, Pei Yan felt inclined to stop. Yue Yong had displayed enough to earn his respect, and he genuinely wanted to humbly learn from him. Continuing to fight would merely capitalize on his youth, winning without martial virtue and disgracing the elder.

But just as this thought arose, he noticed the old man’s momentum suddenly surge. Pei Yan’s sense of crisis abruptly intensified as he saw the two glints shot by Yue Yong. With his battle-hardened instinct, Pei Yan recognized this as a gaze laden with killing intent. Was the opponent intending to kill? 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Before Pei Yan could jump out of the ring to explain, Yue Yong raised his hand, slashing it down at Pei Yan’s forehead with source energy. Pei Yan barely had time to evade, so he put his palm up to meet it. The attack changed in mid-air, swiping toward his throat. However, Pei Yan was unfazed by the change in attack and effortlessly blocked it outside his range.

Pop!

A crisp sound resonated in Pei Yan’s right ear, causing cold sweat to break out all over him. When had Yue Yong’s other hand gotten so close to his face? Fortunately, the opponent merely tapped his ear lightly with a finger. If it had been an actual attack...

What was going on? How could he not have noticed this attack from the opponent? This shouldn’t happen to someone who prides himself on his situational awareness and battlefield control! Yue Yong’s move was unremarkable. Why didn’t he notice it?

As he was pondering, the familiar sense of danger loomed over Pei Yan again. Yue Yong seized Pei Yan’s momentary distraction with a knee-elbow strike aimed at Pei Yan’s chest. In terms of physical and defense power, Yue Yong’s current strength compared to Pei Yan’s ability, the attack wouldn’t cause fatal harm. However, the intense sense of crisis still involuntarily triggered Pei Yan’s defensive posture, and with a sudden buzzing sound near his ears!

Like awakening from a dream, Pei Yan finally realized that Yue Yong had just executed a double strike to his ears on his undefended upper body. This time, as before, Yue Yong just tapped lightly with his fingers and then withdrew.

The knee-elbow strike leg didn’t hit Pei Yan’s abdomen. As he watched the elder before him, deep in contemplation, Yue Yong slowly withdrew his leg, stepped off the platform, and jumped down.

Was it an illusion? No! Dumbfounded in place, Pei Yan himself rejected this notion. Through the playback from his Mechanical Eye, Pei Yan could clearly see that Yue Yong simply launched an attack, while he responded with full force. Yet, when faced with the true lethal move that followed, he failed to notice, allowing it to get up close and strike his body.

This time, it was Yue Yong, his senior, who attacked. The opponent bore no murderous intent and chose to stop short. If it were his adversary, such a mistake could have resulted in serious injury or even death.

"How is it? Realized that there’s always someone stronger today?" Watching Pei Yan walk down from the platform with a grave face, Lin Junzhao teased with a smile.

"Please don’t say that, I mentioned before the match that I’m no match for this kid. If he were to go all out, I would have lost long ago," Yue Yong said quickly, waving his hand and laughing. "The result was only due to limiting his other abilities, allowing him to duel with me purely in the realm of energy. Frankly, at his age, being able to control source energy to such an extent is far beyond me when I was his age."

"A loss is a loss, there’s nothing to explain. I thought I had mastered using source energy, but in front of you, I behaved like a novice. Your mastery over source energy truly commands my respect!" Pei Yan spoke with genuine admiration as he deeply bowed to Yue Yong.
