Chapter 35: A long way to go
Stefan’s POV
"I won’t ask you not to penalize me," I muttered at the direction of the system, oil already dripping warm down my fingers.
"Just wait first. Let me finish this." I said as charismatically possible my wounded pride could manage.
The System, mercifully, said nothing back. Small win.
I poured more massage oil over myself, slicking my length until every stroke came smooth, easy, nothing like the dry awkward mess from a minute ago. My cock throbbed hard in my palm, and I closed my eyes, chasing something to actually picture, because staring at the tent ceiling wasn’t doing a damn thing for me.
Zinnia.
The image came easy, unbidden, exactly the way it had every time I’d tried not to think about it since that night. Her walking into the bathhouse nakedly, completely unbothered by the fact that I was sitting right there with my mouth hanging open.
That sweat-slicked skin of hers catching candlelight... That long, steady look she’d given me, unreadable, like she was deciding what to make of the naked man currently choking on his own tongue in her tub.
My hand moved faster.
I pictured those breasts, heavy and full, the way they would have felt pressed together around my cock if I’d had even one more second of nerve that night.
I Imagined sliding into that tight, slick space between them, her looking down at me with that same maddening calm while I lost my whole mind over it. My hips rolled up into my own grip, chasing the fantasy harder now, breath coming ragged.
If she ever actually let me do that for real, I might genuinely die a second time, and this time I wouldn’t even complain about it.

Those breasts could milk my cock...
I kept stroking, kept picturing her, kept chasing that slow, tight, oil-slicked drag until heat coiled tight and finally broke loose, spilling over my own fist with a groan that echoed off the bathhouse walls louder than I meant it to.
~~~~~~~~~
I came down slow after, breathing hard, my cock still half-hard despite everything I’d just put it through. Figured that was as good as it was getting today. The libido booster still hadn’t worn out.
I’d manage.
I dragged myself out of the tub, dried off, and made my way to my corner of the tent, dropping onto the fur bed the slaves had built for me what felt like a lifetime ago now. I laid there, staring up at nothing, waiting for my body to finally settle.
Then the System dinged, and I already knew, in my gut, that it wasn’t good news.
[PRIMARY MISSION FAILED.]
[TIME EXPIRED.]
[PENALTY INITIALIZING.]
I sat up fast.
[PENALTY: Emergency access to Miracle Shop — REVOKED.]
I blinked at the notification, waiting for more, waiting for the punchline, because that couldn’t be the whole penalty. That made no sense.
Then I remembered why that miracle shop mattered.
"Wait." I sat all the way up now, genuinely thrown. "What?"
Nothing. Of course nothing.
"I told Zinnia I’d perform the miracle on those two women still lying on the ground!" I yelled at the empty tent, at the air, at whoever was supposedly listening on the other end of this cosmic joke.
"How am I supposed to do that if you take away my access to the shop that sells the thing that does the miracle? That doesn’t even make sense! That’s not a penalty, that’s sabotage!"
Silence.
"You’re heartless," I muttered, dragging a hand down my face.
"Fucking heartless. You know that?"
Still nothing, which felt about right, honestly.
I sat there fuming for a second before a new thought crawled up through the frustration. If access got revoked, there had to be a way to get it back. There was always a way. Everything on this System had a price tag somewhere.
"What do I need to unlock the Miracle Shop permanently? Is it AP? EXP? Just tell me the number and I’ll grind it out." I told it.
Then the system replied...
[Miracle Shop requires Miracle Authority to unlock permanently.]
I stared at the words. "Miracle what?"
[Miracle Authority (MA) is earned through completion of Primary Missions, Side Missions, Hidden Missions, and Daily Tasks.]
My mouth actually fell open. This was new. This was completely, entirely new information that nobody had bothered mentioning to me at any point over the few days of getting slapped, humiliated, and nearly killed on this planet.
"There’s been a whole second currency running behind my back this entire time and you’re just now telling me?"
The System, instead of answering that very reasonable complaint, started scanning. I could feel it, somehow, a strange internal pull like something was rifling through a filing cabinet inside my own skull.
[CALCULATING MIRACLE AUTHORITY:]
[Primary Missions Completed: 3 → 9 MA]
[Side Missions Completed: 2 → 4 MA]
[Hidden Missions Completed: 1 → 5 MA]
[Daily Tasks Completed: 0 → 0 MA]
[TOTAL MIRACLE AUTHORITY: 18/100]
I stared at the number like it had personally insulted me.
"Eighteen?" Out of a hundred. After everything - Wildrose’s axe, Jonquil’s tent, the duel with Zinnia, five thousand AP won through pure hustle - I had eighteen measly points toward whatever this Miracle Authority thing actually unlocked.
"Why," I said, very slowly, very deliberately, "is the damned Miracle Authority so damn expensive?"
No response. Predictable at this point.
I let out a long, frustrated breath and flopped back down onto the fur, staring up at the tent ceiling like it owed me answers it clearly wasn’t going to give.
Zero daily tasks completed. Not one, this entire time, because I’d been too busy chasing AP through push-ups I collapsed halfway through and food fasts I always found some excuse to break early.
Every single mission mattered now, apparently. Not just the ones that got me AP or EXP or a good story to tell later.
"Long way to go," I muttered to myself, mostly just to hear it out loud.
"Great. Perfect. Exactly what I needed today."
