Chapter 115: Chapter 112: Just Don’t Want Him (2)

Later, the man seemed to get his Inner Strength under control and leaped with her in his arms. By the time Su Mo came to her senses, she was already inside a mountain cave.

Su Mo’s eyes fluttered open in a daze, only to see Xuan Qing, dressed in white, crouching before her.

"You?!"

Xuan Qing’s cool, indifferent eyes swept over her as he explained in a flat voice, "I was the closest to you."

"Thank you."

"Don’t mention it. The others should be here to find us soon."

After speaking, Xuan Qing stood up and walked toward the mouth of the cave. Su Mo looked up and saw him.

Su Mo stared at his back, thinking, ’What a textbook tsundere! Saving someone and then putting on that cold ’I was just passing by’ face.’

Her gaze fell upon his scratched arm and the bloodstain on his back, and she couldn’t help but frown.

She got up and walked over. "You’re injured. Do you want me to treat it..."

Before she could finish, Xuan Qing slowly turned to face her, his gaze as calm as still water, landing on the ointment in her hand.

His brow furrowed slightly, as if he were contemplating something.

Su Mo froze. ’This blockhead... he doesn’t think I’m trying to take advantage of him, does he?!’

She quickly explained, "Don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t mean anything by it! How about you just take care of it yourself?!"

With that, she tried to thrust the medicine into his hand, but the man didn’t take it.

Instead, he began to deftly untie his robes.

"..."

Su Mo was floored. What was happening?!

As she stood there stunned, she heard him say, "Weren’t you going to apply the medicine?"

"Ah, right, right, right!"

Su Mo assessed his wounds, then picked up the outer robe he had tossed aside and used it to cover half his body.

"This is fine, you don’t have to take it all off... so you don’t get embarrassed. And let me tell you, I’m not looking on purpose. In the eyes of a healer, there is no gender, so don’t get the wrong idea!"

’Cover him up, and don’t look where I shouldn’t! Or he’ll just come lecture me about it again later!’

Xuan Qing: "...You’re protesting a bit too much."

"You!" Su Mo fumed. "Fine, think whatever you want."

"Sit down!"

’Does he expect me to apply medicine for him on my tiptoes while he just stands there? So thoughtless!’

The man before her obediently sat down, but his words remained sharp. "Miss Su, is this how you always treat your savior?"

"Of course, it depends on the person!" Su Mo said as she tended to his wounds. "With someone like the Third Young Master, it’s better to be serious. If I were overly flattering, you’d probably think I was trying to throw myself at you and then lecture me about it. That wouldn’t be good."

A light scoff reached her ears. "Such a sharp, glib tongue."

"And I think you’re a beast in fine clothing, a sanctimonious hypocrite!"

As the words left her mouth, Su Mo felt the air around them chill by several degrees.

’Fine, I won’t stoop to his level. What if he gets furious and shoves me off the cliff again? Then I’d really be done for.’

Just as Su Mo finished treating Xuan Qing’s wounds, Fei Yan arrived.

His eyes first scanned Su Mo for injuries, then shifted to the disheveled Xuan Qing.

Fei Yan’s eyes darkened, but the moment his gaze landed on Xuan Qing’s injuries, his reason instantly returned.

"Thank you for your help, Third Young Master."

Xuan Qing quickly threw on his robe and said flatly, "You’re welcome."

Then, he transformed into a magnificent white tiger, leaped gracefully onto the cliff face, and quickly disappeared from sight.

By the time Fei Yan returned with Su Mo to where Xuan Shuang and her sister were waiting, they had already heard what happened.

Xuan Shuang looked at Su Mo and smiled. "It’s good that you’re alright. Let’s head back quickly."

That evening, Mo Xiao had just returned to the Tiger Clan Tribe when he learned of the day’s harrowing moments.

The thought of Xuan Qing brought an involuntary shadow to Mo Xiao’s eyes.

Lately, rumors had been spreading through the Tiger Clan that the Second Miss wanted to choose an outstanding Beastman to marry into Su Mo’s family in the North Wing.

It was such a bluff; he was afraid the person she really wanted to choose was none other than him.

He hadn’t paid it any mind before. After all, his wife had no interest in the Third Young Master, and the Third Young Master didn’t seem interested either.

But now, it seemed some people were truly hard to read.

When Mo Xiao found Su Mo, she was sitting in a small pavilion, tossing pebbles into the pond before her to tease the little fish.

Beside her were the medicinal pills Fei Yan had rolled for her. Ever since they discovered she disliked drinking medicinal soups, they had switched to pills.

But she didn’t want to eat the pills either. They all had the same taste.

The bitter flavor lingered in her mouth, taking forever to fade.

Hearing footsteps, Su Mo instinctively tried to hide the remaining pills.

But it was too late. Mo Xiao’s hand shot out and snatched them away.

He looked at Su Mo, his expression unreadable, and asked, "Wife, why do you always eat a few and leave a few behind?"

Every time he wore that expression, Su Mo couldn’t help but feel a little scared.

Her eyes widened as she bluffed shamelessly, "Can’t I eat them later?"

Mo Xiao stared at her, his brow furrowed, and his tone serious. "Eat them now."

"I won’t!"

’Why should I listen to him? I won’t!’

Su Mo clapped her hands and prepared to leave.

Mo Xiao reached out an arm to block her, then grabbed her by the waist and placed her back on the seat. He lifted a leg, easily trapping her against the round pillar behind her.

He took out a pill and held it to her lips.

Su Mo frowned at him. "Missing a few won’t affect anything..."

Mo Xiao’s voice left no room for argument. "No!"

Su Mo glared at him.

’I knew I shouldn’t pick this damn snake to be my main husband. He’s so fierce, is he going to eat me? If he becomes my main husband, will I ever have a peaceful day again? This is exactly why I will never, ever choose him!’

Mo Xiao nearly ground his snake fangs to dust. His wife’s temper tantrums whenever she had to take her medicine were both infuriating and left him feeling helpless.

He was just about to coax her gently when he caught a glimpse of a white figure approaching.

Mo Xiao’s brow twitched. He then decisively popped the pill into his own mouth.

Then, he grabbed the back of her neck, lowered his head, and kissed her.

"Mmph..."

Su Mo’s protests and struggles were all smothered by that lingering kiss.

"Bas—"

The instant her lips parted, he seized the opportunity.

He forced her to swallow the pill, then punished her with a long,缠绵 half-day kiss.

Su Mo was so annoyed she wanted to bite him, but he held her jaw firmly. His kiss grew rougher until she went completely limp, leaning weakly against his chest.

Mo Xiao glanced out of the corner of his eye toward the back of the bamboo grove... the white figure was gone.

A satisfied smirk curved his lips, and the gloom in his eyes vanished with it.

Then he scooped up the person in his arms and sat her on his lap.

He took out the remaining pills and held them to Su Mo’s lips.

He coaxed her softly, "Mo’er, are you going to take these yourself, or should I continue to feed you?"

Resigned, Su Mo took the rest of the pills.

Little Nine’s impolite laughter echoed in her mind. "Just accept your fate, Host. You’re no match for him... You’d better suck up to him a bit, or your future might get a little... exciting? Tsk, tsk..."

Little Nine cackled mercilessly, hiding his face.

Su Mo frowned. "I’m not going to suck up to him! I don’t even want to marry him now! When we get back to the North Wing, I’ll marry the other four! Just not him!!!"

The hand on her waist tightened unconsciously as a flame suddenly ignited in Mo Xiao’s eyes.

Catching him in a daze, Su Mo stomped on his foot, broke free from his hold, and bolted.

Su Mo ran with such desperate speed it was as if some terrifying beast was chasing her.

She unexpectedly crashed into someone’s embrace. An unfamiliar yet vaguely familiar scent of green bamboo rushed in from all sides.

Mo Xiao followed at a leisurely pace, her handkerchief still in his right hand.

His dark gaze swept over the man in front of him, landing on the hand resting on Su Mo’s waist.

The moment their gazes collided in mid-air, the atmosphere seemed to freeze solid, the surroundings so silent that not a single sound could be heard.
